Shay had sighed, “I have, and he’s forgiven me, because the truth is he didn’t do anything wrong. I jumped to conclusions, and I walked out on him without giving him a chance to explain.”
“I know what that’s like. Thankfully, it didn’t take five years for Nic to find me,” Jai smiled wistfully.
“Would you have told him about the twins if your aunt didn’t?” Shay asked.
“Eventually, I think I would have, you know. I was just hurt, and I needed to lick my wounds, but I think I would have,” Jai replied. “Is that why you came back?”
“Maybe in the back of my mind. I didn’t admit it to myself, but I could have gone anywhere else…”
“But it all worked out, didn’t it, and you gotmeas a friend,” Jai smirked.
“Yes it did,” Shay grinned, “And I gotyouas a friend.”
“It’s okay to be happy, you know. The past… well it’s what it is, you can’t change it, but Drew, well, he’s good people. I’ve seen the way he looks at you and I guess I don’t want to cut him anymore.”
“Thank you very much,” Shay snorted, “He has parts I quite like.”
“I’m sure you do.” Jai grinned knowingly.
Jai was right. He was happy, and every time he looked at Drew, it was to find the alpha already looking at him, with a look in his eyes that took Shay’s breath away. It was a feeling he couldn’t really put into words. His parents were ecstatic for him and they couldn’t wait to meet Drew. Even though Drew was anxious, he kept saying they would hate him for everything he’d put Shay through.
They didn’t but, his alpha would figure that out himself when they came home. Shay managed to convince them to complete their trip. They deserved it.
Drew got in bed on Shay’s side, kneeling over him, his legs on each side of Shay’s. He placed a kiss on Shay’s lips, and Shay sank into it like he did each time.
“Hey, love,” Drew said, his forehead against Shay’s.
“Hey,” Shay whispered, kissing Drew again until the alpha moaned, and put his weight over Shay, his hard cock pressing into Shay’s stomach.
Shay broke their kiss, reminded of the surprise he had for Drew. As usual, the alpha’s kiss, his touch, his scent, managed to have him forget everything.
“Wait, babe, I have a surprise for you,” Shay moaned.
“I love surprises,” Drew said. He nipped Shay’s lips, making him squirm and his breathing hitch.
“Seriously, babe, I have a surprise for you, and I hope… no, I think… well, I hope you love it.” Shay bit his lips, suddenly a little nervous.
Drew groaned and moved to his side of the bed. He covered his face with his arm, and inhaled deeply, trying to get his breathing under control.
Shay took that moment to reach for the bag he’d hidden in the bedside drawer. He placed the little gift bag on Drew’s chest, and the alpha put his arm down and looked at him.
“Open it,” Shay whispered.
“I already have everything I could ever want,” Drew said. He held Shay’s gaze, and Shay couldn’t help it, he cupped his alpha’s face.
“Me too, but open your gift.”
Drew sat up his back to the headboard, holding the gift bag to his chest, so he wouldn’t drop it. He finally opened the gift bag, pulled out the tissue first, then the t-shirt Shay had stopped to make at the mall.
Drew turned it around, and when he saw the words, he put it down and glanced at Shay.
“Really?” Drew’s voice was thick with emotion.
Shay nodded.
Drew lifted the t-shirt up again, and read the words out loud, “Father of Two.”
The End.
