“We do. I think your papa liked my name so much, he decided to give it to you,” Drew said. With those words, he turned to meet Shay’s gaze where he stood, and saw the omega’s eyes glistening with unshed tears.

His words to Drew must have shaken Shay out of his motionlessness, “That’s right baby boy. Drew let me borrow his name, because I just knew he wouldn’t mind if you had it too.”

“I don’t,” Drew said, turning to meet his son’s eyes again.

No matter how many times he said it, it sent a thrill through his body. He had a son.

“You have my eyes,” Andy’s hand came up to touch Drew’s face, and Drew put his hand over his son’s, and love like he had never felt before nearly had him on his ass, as he looked into eyes that were exactly like his.

“I do,” Drew whispered, his voice choked.

“Cool,” his son breathed.

“That’s the new word he just learned,” Shay said, and without looking behind him, Drew could tell Shay had tears in his eyes.

“Andy,” Drew said, for no reason but to say his son’s name.

“Wanna watch a movie with me? It’s my favorite one.” His son looked him in the eye, all serious, “The Incredibles, it’d the best.”

“They are,” Drew acknowledged, as serious as Andy.

Apparently, that was the right answer, because his son beamed at him, and patted the seat next to his.

“You can watch with me, but gotta be super quiet,” his son put his hand over his lips showing Drew how to be quiet.

“Papa said it’d rude to talks in the movie.”

“Papa’s right, unless you have a question,” Drew stood, not taking his eyes off his son for a minute.

“Papa’s smarts answer big questions,” Andy said seriously.

Drew didn’t need to be told how good a parent Shay was. He could see it in their child, in how Andy thought the world of his papa.

“Do you know how to dos the TV? Papa does.”

Apparently, Papa was Superman. Papa could do everything.

A sliver of jealousy crawled up his spine. Drew wanted his son to think he was the greatest too, but all he was right now was a stranger, and his heart felt like shattering.

“Yes, son, I know how to do the TV.”

Shay gasped and Drew realized he’d called Andy ‘son’. It hadn’t been on purpose, it had honestly just slipped out, but having said it, well, it was the most natural thing in the world.

Andy was too young to see the absolute joy in his Drew’s eyes at his son inviting him to watch a movie with him, at the fact that his son had taken an immediate liking to him. He might not have admitted it, but he’d been worried. Even though his friends had so many kids, Drew wasn’t around enough for them to really know him, or even for him to get used to them. Even his nephew, Austin’s son, barely knew him.

Crap, Drew realized Andy had a cousin. His mother would be overjoyed when she got the news. Of that Drew was certain.

Drew gave his son a large smile as he took a seat beside him.

“Papa watch with us?” Andy looked up at Shay.

“Coming,” Shay replied, “Papa has a few things to take care of.”

“Papa pleeease can Drew stay for dinner? He’s nice, I like him,” Andy stared up into his papa’s face, a pleading look in his eyes.

“Of course he can,” Shay whispered, his voice still clogged with emotion. “I’ll just go get some snacks for the movie, okay?” Shay turned towards the direction Drew assumed led to the kitchen, leaving him alone with his son for the first time.

“Yay,” Andy said, “Spaghettis.”
