Page 86 of Darling Psycho
Waking to find Lawless in her bed between her legs should have been the most terrifying thing, and yet, it made her heart pulse with pure heat.
Finally, she thought they were meeting as equals.
For hours, she replayed the things he’d done to her, what he allowed her to do to him. Even now, her stomach tightened, and her sex fluttered.
Wanting him.
Always wanting him.
She’d touched his cock, held the weighty thing in her two hands, and wore his come all over the lower half of her body after witnessing Lawless go through a body-shaking orgasm. That was a psychedelic trip she’d never get over for as long as she lived.
His palm stroked her cheek, and she snapped her eyes up. “We have to talk.”
Oh,wonderful. Dread pooled like a greasy mess in her stomach.
If this was the kiss-off, it could wait.
“It’ll have to wait. I have a shift at Bar Icy. Can you feed Oscar?”
“He’s already fed. Since when do you work at the bar?”
“Since today and since you made it so, I couldn’t go back to the casino. Thanks for that, by the way.”
Lawless caught at her waist, halting her steps when she tried to walk away. Their bodies aligned like a flash drive fitting into a USB port on the first try, and she sighed with contentment.
As disappointed as she felt last night they didn’t go any further, she was still wholly satisfied in a place in her soul that had never been filled by anything else.
He was the love of her life.
Infuriating, confusing Lawless, was the love of her life.
And she couldn’t quit him if she tried.
She’d promised herself that once he came home from prison, if their crazily strong connection was no longer there, and he showed no signs of wanting her, she’d move on.
But he had shown more than signs, hadn’t he?
Now, she had to be brave enough to hear him out.
“Did you enjoy working for Benz?”
“I liked the money.”
“Angela, you have two million in your bank account you haven’t touched.”
“Your money!”
“Yourmoney. So use it. Jay’s money is out.”
Scowling, not altogether hating his demanding ways, she knew on some feminist level she should object. But from Lawless, it came from a place of concern, not a way to control her. It was good money, but she didn’t want to be around Jay any more than she had to be. And she had walked away already with sixty grand. It was enough to live on for a while if she was careful with it.
“That’s why I have another job now. One I’m going to be late for.” She slipped out of his arms.
He let her go, and Angela felt the cold envelope her, stepping outside. She wasn’t at her car a second before she looked up at the sprawling cabin, sighed, and retraced her steps.
Lawless was where she left him, nursing a steaming cup. He arched a dark eyebrow, watching her approaching.
She felt like a rabbit hopping up to a dragon, not knowing if he would burn her ears.
