He snapped his stare at the man. “Do you see that collar on her neck, Adrian?”
“Listen, I read it wrong, okay? No harm done, buddy.”
Buddy. Ha. Lawless was going to break his neck for that; she’d bet the Mustang on it.
“I can see you’re heading out, so I won’t hold you up.” The oily creep attempted to step around Lawless, but slick as a cobra, Lawless grabbed his arm.
One maneuver that was too fast for Angela to see, but the combined scream made her think Lawless had hurt the creep when he fell to the floor, cradling his arm. “You broke my fucking wrist!”
Lawless stepped over him and took her hand, “Because you’re a particular brand of stupid, and now you won’t ever forget the night you touched my property.”
Swoon. “Lawless, we discussed this. It isyour woman. I’m your woman, not property.” she clicked her tongue. “It’s like trying to teach a hamster how to ride a bicycle.”
The commotion caught some attention, and the club owner sauntered into the entryway, not surprised to see a sobbing man on the floor as he arched a brow at Lawless.
“He touched Angela.”
“You never could keep your hands out of the sugar bowl, could you, Adrian? You stupid dipshit.” Sandman clicked his tongue and motioned for two bouncers to come through. “Shove him into his car. His card will be revoked. My apologies to you both.”
They left Sandman to the mess.
“My first time at a sex club, and you break someone’s wrist. I can’t take you anywhere. Maybe it’s you who needs a leash, grumpy.” She joked, but the air locked in her throat and then whooshed out when he pushed her into a wall.
The rage was felt in his kiss.
It zipped through her blood as he ate her mouth. She was a puddle of need when he pulled back only an inch. His breath warmed her cheek. “No one touchesmy fucking woman.”
Was that her knees dissolving? She grabbed onto the front of his coat and listed in.
“Let’s go. I have to fuck his touch off you.”
Could she send oily creep a thank-you card for turning Lawless into a possessive demon and admitting out loud she was his woman?
They weren’t in the truck a minute. Lawless only just turned on the heat when she asked, “permission to give you road head, grumpy.”
She had to. Feeling all squirrelly inside, needing an outlet she’d find at the end of his dick.
“Christ, you’re a fucking goof,” he grunted with a half-smile, “get to it then.”
Angela all but threw herself across the cab, mauling his pants open to find his waiting hardness.
It was the best.
The absolute best with Lawless spitting out curses and commands, and when he lost it in the back of her throat, he kept his eyes focused on the empty road but praised her with a cheek stroke. Feeling smugger than the time she won a spelling bee. She’d only risen from his lap after tucking him away when an almighty pop-smash made her jump out of her skin.
The back window exploded.
Later, she would reflect on Lawless’ calmness throughout when she was in sheer fear and turmoil.
But she couldn’t think of anything while her ears rang.
Because there was another pop, and then carnage ensued.
