“Are you more attracted to me now, angel?”
Snorting, she regained some of her composure because what he was asking was a crock of dog poop. Like she’d ever need money be the reason to be horny for someone. Money was to buy milk and jeans, not a reason to whip out her boobs.
Angela wasn’t money motivated; she’d known enough these past years, with the cabin, car, and her fat, untouched bank balance, that Lawless was loaded.
“Who said I’m attracted to you?” her butt unconsciously wiggled on his lap, and the hand squeezed her neck, causing heat to run wet in places.
He didn’t turn his head to look at her when he replied, “the orgasm you rubbed out on my leg was a clue.”
Angela’s hair caught on fire.
And then all her organs became dust, never to organ again.
He’d known she came.
Like she thought she’d been discreet or something.
She wouldn’t run. She wasn’t an embarrassed child. Orgasms were as natural as sneezing.
Only she rarely had those orgasms writhing on his leg, did she?
Just when Angela regained control of her stuck tongue to come back with something witty and pithy, he opened his big man trap and added, “and then the second orgasm you moaned the house down with.”
She had no words.
Of all the reactions her poor, wilted brain went through in three seconds, none of those reactions had Angela leaping off Lawless’ lap and storming away.
Funny that.
She was right where she wanted to be.
Embarrassed and flamed red.
Lawless saved her from saying anything by patting her hip so she’d rise from his lap; he moved around the island, refilled his cup.
Until now, she didn’t know he was such a homebody. Every time she’d been around Lawless in the past, it was at the MC or Zara’s house.
This relaxed domesticity version of the enforcer was mind-blowing and sexy as nothing else ever was.
Her eyes, as always, trailed after him obediently.
She still didn’t know how to bring it up, that she knew his reason for going to prison. How could she just drop it into the conversation?
She cleared her throat. “Which painting are you investing in?”
“I haven’t decided yet. Probably the one you liked.”
Whoa. “Don’t put all your pennies on something I randomly pointed at, Lawless. I know less than nothing about art. “
He shrugged like it wasn’t a big deal if he lost a few million dollars.
“Clean money is clean money, Angela.”
“And criminals like you always need clean money,” she teased.
Angela wasn’t scared of the MC rules or how they did things for the greater good, however crooked those things were. She couldn’t wait to get involved by being the best lawyer the club had ever had.
“What’s your plans today?”
