Page 46 of Darling Psycho
If words could carry tears, he read every single drop.
For the first time in his life, doubt crept into his brain.
Had he done the right thing?
He’d destroyed her young heart. Reasons were valid then.
But now?
Was he doing this only for his selfish motives and not thinking about what was best for Angela?
Maybe she needed setting free for good.
Lawless sat holding the box of agony for an hour before the noise of the outdoors became too loud.
He had urges.
Dark, fucking urges, and they all directed toward her bedroom to whisper his sorries between her legs.
He stomped into his boots and jacket and took off for the club.
Human emotions clung to his skin like glue, making Lawless feel unusual.
And he couldn’t outrun them this time.
TWELVE
“I love him. I love him not.” - Angela
Whoever said there was a thin line between hate and love had it on the money.
If only she could hate Lawless.
She didn’t.
Not at all.
She was starting to believe it was an impossibility to hate him.
But could she be mad at him?
Oh, yes. For years. Decades. A whole millennium.
Maybe for a few days more.
Being in Lawless’ orbit meant she felt weak by his presence. It was like her entire map of skin wanted to be close to him, no matter what.
For days now, he’d invaded her space and completely torn through her peaceful existence. Not only had he ruined her job at the casino by telling her she wasn’t going back, but he was screwing with her sanity.
It didn’t matter how late she stayed out or avoided the cabin, Lawless still held the real estate to her thoughts.
Making her crazy.
Making her want things she couldn’t have.
This living together crap was insane. Why he’d even thought about it, she couldn’t guess. Only Lawless knew why he did Lawless things. Having inquired about a college dorm room, there was nothing open until next semester. She was silently relieved because that first semester living in the dorms with a non-speaking insomniac girl from Nebraska was a situation never to be repeated.
If she asked, Erin would let her move in with her, or she could dip into the mountain of money Lawless had put into her bank account years ago to get an apartment. That would be the most logical thing to do. Angela loved being around her people, but at heart, she was a lone wolf who enjoyed space.
