Page 56 of Darling Psycho
“Hey, thanks, sir.” She beamed.
People were simple to manipulate. Easy to buy. It was why hardly anyone held Lawless’ attention for longer than a blink.
But not the woman living in his cabin, putting all her sweet smells all over the place, letting her clothes drape over furniture and her eclectic collection of soda piled into the fridge.
No, that woman was everything he didn’t know he’d wanted.
Until he did.
He’d never wanted to own anyone before.
Not a pet, a fawning bad fish, or a lover.
People had always been discardable as an empty wrapper.
But not her.
Never her.
She’d dug her claws deep into his marrow years ago.
Even when he’d been mystified by his reluctance to hurt her little crying feelings, he’d allowed her to tag along. She asked her constant questions, begged to be taught how to use a computer, called him at all hours for homework advice, or talked about her latest movie obsession. Never help; she always worded it as she neededadvice. Cute.
Now he was fighting her battles and buying her ice cream like a romantic dickhead in hopes she didn’t scowl so much at him tonight. A nasty throb tightened his pants. He’d been craving sex since he got back to Colorado. Dirty, kinky, go-all-night sex. But getting home wasn’t about putting Angela on her knees, so he could teach her how to suck his dick or even to unload his raging libido on her tight body.
It was more.
Something bigger than even he could wrap his brain cells around.
What happened when he arrived at his cabin was not planned.
Lawless was about playing the long game, so he hadn’t thought to push anything physical on her yet.
Until she spat fire, so fucking jealous that he might have been with someone else.
All her feelings there in her dark eyes.
Hurt.
Possessiveness.
She dripped with gravitas and had never looked more edible than she did at that moment.
And while his veins were an incessant thump of hunger and the thirst dried up his throat, there was only one thing Lawless could do as he stalked her around the kitchen.
He was going to taste her and suck the stupid accusation off her tongue.
FIFTEEN
“In the lap of Lawless luxury.” - Angela
It was the day after the night before.
And Angela comfortably denied all actions of the previous night.
Not because she was a coward.
Okay, she had a little emu with her head in the sand going on.
