Page 18 of Rah
“Baby, who is that woman staring at us?”
With a quick glance, Rah told me, “Oh, that’s my whack ass baby mama.”
In the past year that I was with Rah, I had never seen Solae in person, so I was shocked that she was there. Knowing her name, I was able to find her on Facebook and Instagram, but her pages were private, so I only had a slim idea of what she looked like from her profile pictures.
“I didn’t know that she was going to be here.”
“I didn’t either,” Rah fussed with a frown. “Her stalking ass just showed up like she was invited. Solae and Kahlani are real tight cousins, though, so you know how that go.”
“Why is she steady watching you though?”
Solae was breaking her neck and literally staring at me and Rah. Since she wanted to look over here, I looked back.
“I’ve already told you how jealous of you she is and that she doesn’t like you. She still wanna be with me, and she knows how much I love you, so she’s hating. Ignore that shit. C’mon.”
Rah walked away so fast that he left me while I grabbed my drink off of the bar. I caught a glimpse of Solae still watching Rah until he had disappeared into the crowd. I had to fight to keep up with him.
By the time I made it to the VIP section that we were sitting in at the other end of the club, I didn’t see him. I figured one of his many henchmen had most likely pulled him to the side. My feet were hurting too bad in the six–inch heels to give a damn about chasing him.
“You look great, Aaliyah.”
I didn’t have to look up to know that it was Fabe complimenting me. He had been literally gazing at me all night. As I sat down, our eyes met. He was standing in front of me holding a bottle of Don Julio 1942 by the neck.
I didn’t like the way that he looked at me. Moreover, I didn’t like the way that I felt when I looked back at him.
With Rah, I always felt like I had to prove myself worthy of being his woman. But my mind and heart relaxed when it was in Fabe’s presence because he looked at me like being in his presence was just enough.
He sat closely beside me, as he always did. To everyone else, it was just Rah’s brother and woman chilling and having conversation. No one knew the burning chemistry between us. No one knew that my pussy was twitching just remembering the good dick he gave me in his truck.
“Stop looking at me like that before someone sees you,” I told him, trying desperately to hide the genuine smile threatening to appear across my professionally beat face.
“I can’t help it.”
Like everyone else in the club, we were forced to lean closely towards one another just to hear each other over the loud sound system bumping the latest club bangers.
But being so close caused his masculine smell to wash over me, mixing with the unusual calm and protected feeling that I always had when I was next to him.
“You should be with me,” he surprisingly told me, making my eyes buck.
“Fabe!” I warned in a harsh whisper.
But he ignored me. “Every time I see you, I feel like I should have kidnapped you that night.”
Along with his masculine smell, the stinging aroma of tequila was pouring from him. He was drunk, so drunk that he was saying things that he would never say if he was sober.
“What is it?” he pressed. “Why do you keep acting like I didn’t write my name on that pussy that night?”
Swallowing hard, I told him, “You disappeared after we had sex. I assumed it was just a one-night thing to you, that you thought I was a hoe because I was sleeping with your brother.”
“I would never think that.”
“Regardless, I love your brother, Fabe.”
No matter how my body and heart reacted to Fabe, I was always sure that he knew my dedication was to Rah.
“I love him too.”
“And he loves us.”
