"Why has Taotao started learning to squat like a horse stance?"

Taotao spoke very seriously, "I want to learn martial arts."

Feng Wuyou was taken aback by this comment. Not only did Taotao enjoy studying literature, but he was also interested in martial arts? She certainly hadn’t given him that kind of prenatal education when she was pregnant.

Feng Wuyou asked with curiosity, "Why do you suddenly want to learn martial arts?"

Taotao replied, "I want to become as formidable as Grandfather."

Feng Wuyou really didn’t want to dampen her son’s spirits, but she felt the need to give a gentle reminder.

"Then you will have to persist for a very, very long time to reach your grandfather’s level."

Taotao still sounded very serious, "I can do it."

"Alright, as long as Taotao is happy." Just as Feng Wuyou sat down, Susu dashed in, "Momma, I want cake."

Without hesitation, Feng Wuyou picked up a piece of pastry from the plate and handed it to Susu, gently reminding, "You can only have one piece, okay? We will have lunch soon."

"I know," Susu said happily, holding the pastry as she walked toward Dabai.

After persisting intermittently for quite a while, Jun Moqing finally said, "Taotao, that’s enough."

Hearing this, Taotao finally stood upright, but even that short amount of time had left him panting.

Feng Wuyou offered a piece of pastry to Taotao, "Have a pastry, Taotao."

With the pastry in hand, Taotao said, "Thank you, Momma," and then ran off to play with Susu.

Feng Wuyou turned to her father, "Daddy, are you really going to teach Taotao martial arts?"

Jun Moqing replied with a deep voice, "Let him practice the horse stance first. If he can persist, I will teach him and see if he has any talent for it."

Feng Wuyou said, "I don’t know who Taotao takes after, such a little person. It’s time to eat, drink, and play, but he’s instead learning this and that. And I never taught them any of these things during their prenatal education."

Jun Moqing remarked, "Taotao is not like you. When you were three, I tried to teach you the horse stance, but you sat on a stool and said you were tired. ’Isn’t it nice to sit quietly?’"

"Didn’t you say that Susu is like me? After all, she’s greedy for food." In fact, Feng Wuyou regretted a bit that she didn’t learn martial arts. Otherwise, she could have become very powerful.

But then again, with her personality, if no one pushed her, she would definitely be too lazy to learn.

Jun Moqing simply couldn’t bear to see her suffer, which is why he let her eat, drink, and be merry during her foundational training years, allowing her a happy childhood.

Jun Moqing said, "Indeed. But girls don’t need to go through such hardships."

"Daddy is the best, so open-minded. Worthy of being someone who’s come from the modern era, which allowed me to spend a carefree childhood," she said.

Feng Wuyou felt so fortunate to have such a wonderful father. Better than anyone else’s, he doted on her, spoiled her.

But, when it came to raising children, Daddy had his methods. Under his pampering, she didn’t become arrogant or tyrannical but instead developed a laid-back personality.

The only thing she did was to boast about her father. When others talked about how great their dads were, she would flaunt hers.

If someone boasted about their mothers, she would still bring up her father.

Because her father was indeed that amazing.

Jun Moqing said, "Daddy always feels he owes you, for you were motherless from a young age. If I don’t treat you twice as well, there would always be regret."

"Although I also hope to have a mother by my side, it’s because of you, Daddy, that I don’t feel sad when I miss Mommy. How does the saying go? ’Having all the love can make up for some of the lost love.’

When Feng Wuyou was young and saw that everyone else had a mother, she too longed for one. But the affection her father gave her was so overflowing, she couldn’t contain it all. He never laid a finger on her nor spoke a harsh word to her.

Her childhood was very happy, happy enough to overlook the absence of maternal love.

Even though his daughter felt that way, Jun Moqing still felt a sense of debt, believing that having both a father’s love and a mother’s love would have been complete, with no regrets left behind.

In the afternoon,

Since Taotao was practicing calligraphy, Jun Moqing took Susu out of the palace to play, mainly because he heard Susu mention that there was a woman who looked very much like Xiaojiu.

He had seen many who looked similar, but the only one was Xiaojiu’s mother.

Susu clung to Jun Moqing’s neck, "Grandpa, I want the fruit."

Ever since Susu found out that she could buy delicious and attractive fruit on the street, every time she went out of the palace, the first thing was to buy fruit.

How could Jun Moqing refuse his granddaughter’s request? "Okay."

Susu joyously planted a kiss on Jun Moqing’s cheek, "Grandpa is so good."

Jun Moqing, looking at Susu’s joyfully curved eyes and smile, was reminded so much of Xiaojiu. For a moment, he felt transported back to when Xiaojiu was little, how he often held her while she acted spoiled and kissed his face in her joy.

Now Xiaojiu was almost twenty years old.

Holding Susu, Jun Moqing made his way to the shop selling the sweet fruit upon inquiry.
