Lin Xian lifted his head to see the snowy white skin, then lowered his gaze to her slender waist that seemed too delicate to grasp, his throat struggling to swallow.

Without saying a word, he took the disinfectant from her hand, and, following her instructions, disinfected the wound.

Shen Chuwei furrowed her brow, sometimes letting out a groan when it hurt.

Lin Xian, upon hearing her groans, paused his movements, worried that he had been too rough and caused her pain, and he softened his touch once again.

Disinfection was a major task, simpler than the latter step of applying medication.

Lin Xian picked up the gauze to wrap her wound, and as he circled it around her, he felt as though he was embracing her in his arms.

They were so close that he could smell her fragrance, which was just like the scent of peach blossoms.

Lin Xian suddenly snapped out of it and realized what he was doing, shocked at his own actions, and to avoid any further such incidents, he quickened the pace of the bandaging.

After finishing the bandaging, Lin Xian let out a long sigh of relief as if he had completed a significant task.

He looked away and said, "It’s already bandaged, you can put your clothes back on."

"Hmm," Shen Chuwei stood up, picked up her robe that lay nearby, and put it on her body. Seeing Xiao Jinyan looking down at his own leg, she couldn’t help but feel worried, "Husband, does your leg feel uncomfortable?"

Lin Xian responded without lifting his head, "No."

Shen Chuwei was not reassured, "Then why are you staring at your leg?"

"..." Lin Xian: "Put on your clothes before we talk."

Shen Chuwei, anxious to return, didn’t ask further and continued dressing, and after a short while, she was fully clothed.

"If my husband is alright, then I will leave."

As she was about to leave, Lin Xian grabbed her wrist in a flash of worry, "Are you really going back to the Confinement Room?"

"Yes, Qin Xiao is waiting for me there, and if I don’t return, he’ll be in danger. Besides, this is the Imperial City, and it would be difficult to leave without going back. It’s better to return so as not to anger them."

Shen Chuwei, thinking of Ouyang Jingyuan, expressed her concerns again, "I still need to visit Ouyang Jingyuan to see why he fainted. If he’s alright, then there’s nothing to worry about."

Lin Xian’s brow furrowed deeply, "You don’t seem like someone short of money. Knowing how dangerous it is to enter the Imperial City, why did you still come?"

Shen Chuwei spoke seriously, "If I didn’t come, I would have missed the chance to see you. Although it’s dangerous, with my husband here, I’m not afraid; I’m only afraid of not seeing you."

Lin Xian was stunned. Even though he knew she was talking about her own husband, he still felt moved upon hearing her words.

"I must hurry back, Husband. Rest well." Shen Chuwei did not delay any longer, taking her food container and medicine box and walking out.

Lin Xian wanted to stop her but could only watch helplessly as she left.

Xuetuan just finished gnawing on a corn cob and followed her out.

The door was closed from the outside.

Lin Xian sat on the bed, staring at the tightly closed door, his brows deeply knit.

After Shen Chuwei came out, she put the medicine box and the food container into her Space, then walked towards Ouyang Jingyuan’s room.

Whether she and Qin Xiao could be safely released tomorrow depended on Ouyang Jingyuan.

At night, there were not a few Guards on patrol.

Shen Chuwei, small and agile, found it relatively easy to avoid the patrols.

There would definitely be a lot of Guards and Maids on night duty at the main gate; it would be impossible to enter through there, only by climbing through the window.

Shen Chuwei had been to Ouyang Jingyuan’s room many times and was quite familiar with the layout inside.

Climbing through the window was the best way to enter.

When Shen Chuwei arrived outside Ouyang Jingyuan’s room, she saw a Guard standing guard beside a column.

To see Ouyang Jingyuan, she had to climb through the window, but first, she needed to lure the Guard away.

Shen Chuwei withdrew her gaze, patted Xuetuan on the forehead, thinking it was time to put the long training to use.

"Xuetuan, go," she instructed.

"Meow," Xuetuan boldly charged out, not avoiding the Guard’s embrace at all, bit something hanging from him, and ran off with a twist of its head.

Not knowing what important item Xuetuan had bitten, the Guard cursed and chased after it.

Seeing the Guard run far away, Shen Chuwei ran out of the bushes, skillfully climbed up to the window, and entered.

The room inside was eerily quiet, perhaps because it housed a patient, there was a lamp left burning.

Shen Chuwei lit a lamp and approached the bed; Ouyang Jingyuan’s face could not be seen clearly due to the dim light.

She placed the lamp on the table, sat down by the bed, and took Ouyang Jingyuan’s wrist to take his pulse.

After feeling his pulse, Shen Chuwei’s eyebrows were tightly knitted, clearly, someone had poisoned Ouyang Jingyuan. The poisoning was done cleverly, unnoticeable by an ordinary Doctor.

Who could have poisoned Ouyang Jingyuan?

From her Space, Shen Chuwei took out a disposable cup and poured a cup of Spiritual Spring Water.

Feeding him was not gentle, for it’s truly challenging to give water to someone unconscious.

One cup of Spiritual Spring Water, half-fed, half-spilled.

After feeding him the water, Shen Chuwei took out her needle kit, removed the silver needles, and began acupuncturing Ouyang Jingyuan.

Suddenly, the previously unconscious Ouyang Jingyuan awoke. Slowly, he opened his eyes, and through his blurred vision, he saw someone sitting on his bed.

Perhaps too weak, he tried to see who it was clearly, but he couldn’t make out the figure.

All he could see was a blurry silhouette, sticking something into his body, a faint pain causing his brows to furrow.

Shen Chuwei, calculating the time, withdrew the silver needles one by one, looking at the Ouyang Jingyuan on the bed, knowing that if he woke up the next day, she could clear her name.

After tidying up, Shen Chuwei climbed out the window and jumped down.

Returning to the Confinement Room, Shen Chuwei climbed back through the window. Fumbling on the window, she found a nail, the very nail that had injured her lower back.

She pulled out a Dagger and removed the nail, throwing it away.

When Qin Xiao heard the noise, he looked up to see Shen Chuwei climbing in from the window, and he finally let out a sigh of relief, his heart having been in his throat.

Shen Chuwei climbed up to the window and removed corn from her Space, putting it in a cloth pocket on her back. Seeing Qin Xiao, she took off the pocket and handed him the corn.

"I brought you some corn; eat this for now. Once you’re finished, we’ll fix the window back to how it was," she said.

Qin Xiao, hungry by then, grabbed a cob of corn from the cloth pocket without hesitating and started to nibble on it, finding it delicious.

In the dead of night, all was silent.

Lin Xian tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep, his mind filled with images of Shen Chuwei’s scalded hand and injured lower back... and then the vision of her fair, jade-like skin emerged...

He suddenly opened his eyes, "I wonder if she made it back to the Confinement Room safely?"

"If the Clan Leader actually suspects that Doctor Shen has harmed Ouyang Jingyuan, Doctor Shen will be in great danger."

Lin Xian worried through a sleepless night.

During breakfast, Lin Xian asked a Maid to call Ouyang Leyuan over.

In the previous Chapter’s book recommendation, the title was incorrectly written. The correct title is "After Transmigrating, I Pampered the Violent Regent Prince".
