Ouyang Jingyuan glanced at his younger sister and sighed helplessly, his gaze shifted to Shen Chuwei as he said in a gentle voice, "Let’s keep walking ahead, there are more delicious foods up front."

As soon as Shen Chuwei heard there were a lot of delicious foods, she perked up, "Then let’s go."

Ouyang Jingyuan saw the sparkle in her eyes and smiled, continuing to walk forward.

Lin Xian glanced at Shen Chuwei and saw how excited she was, feeling that she had come out not because of him, but because of the food.

Wu Tan was a monk who cultivated his body and spirit, indifferent to worldly matters, but his indifferent gaze became soft the moment it fell upon Shen Chuwei.

Ouyang Jingyuan did not deceive her. After roughly ten minutes, they arrived at the snack street, known so because it was filled with food vendors offering pastries and hot foods.

When Shen Chuwei saw the delicious foods, even if her legs felt a bit weak, it couldn’t stop her determination to eat.

She was the first to rush off in search of her favorite foods.

Lin Xian watched her excited behavior, which was a stark contrast to before when he thought she wouldn’t last long before getting tired and needing to rest. Now it seemed he had indeed overthought...

Princess Leyuan wasn’t as interested in the foods. In her eyes, one should go to a restaurant to eat, not a snack street.

She came out mainly to date Lin Xian, to browse rouge and powder or shops for clothes, not to sit and eat with the common nobility on snack street.

She turned her head and suggested, "Young Master Lin, how about we go to Fu Restaurant to eat? Their dishes and drinks aren’t bad."

Lin Xian said softly, "I think it’s quite nice here."

With that, he stepped forward to catch up with Shen Chuwei. He looked at Ouyang Jingyuan and Wu Tan, who had already caught up. The purpose of these two was too obvious.

Princess Leyuan wanted to say something else, but then she saw Lin Xian had walked away. Only then did she realize that all three of them had followed Doctor Shen.

She stomped her foot in irritation, reluctantly catching up.

Shen Chuwei looked left and right; the food from every place was different but, due to it being ancient times, it wasn’t as refined as modern preparations, which was still nice to have.

She chose a noodle dish that seemed to suit her taste, with chili, which should taste good.

"I’ll have this one; you guys choose whatever," she said without turning her head, and then dived into the stall to find an empty table to sit down at.

Just after ordering the noodles, she saw others taking seats in front of her one by one.

Wu Tan, Ouyang Jingyuan, and then Xiao Jinyan, who arrived a bit later.

She asked the three people in front of her in confusion, "Are you all having noodles too?"

The three of them almost simultaneously nodded, "Mhm."

Shen Chuwei turned her head and instructed the Boss Lady to add three more bowls of noodles.

When the steaming hot noodles were served, Shen Chuwei couldn’t wait to pick up her chopsticks and start eating.

When Princess Leyuan arrived, she saw Doctor Shen already eating.

She wore a look of disgust, "What’s so good about noodles?"

Ouyang Jingyuan, watching Shen Chuwei eat noodles, began to feel hungry. He turned to look at his sister, "Aren’t you having noodles?"

Princess Leyuan still had a disdainful expression, "I don’t want any."

Just then, the Boss Lady brought over three steaming bowls of noodles and set them before the three men.

Lin Xian picked up his chopsticks and began to eat at a leisurely pace.

The noodles were vegetarian, so Wu Tan could eat them as well. He picked up his chopsticks and, unaccustomed to hot foods, habitually blew on his noodles several times before putting them in his mouth.

Ouyang Jingyuan had been ill for a very long time and hadn’t been out for ages, let alone eating street noodles, which he hadn’t had for a long time either.

Seeing the steaming hot noodles, he suddenly felt the urge to eat them.

Around the table, four out of five people were eating noodles, with only Princess Leyuan not eating, awkwardly sitting and watching them.

Already displeased, she was even more unhappy now.

Along with the unhappiness, there was also an inexplicable embarrassment.

After finishing her bowl of noodles contentedly, Shen Chuwei picked up her tea and took a sip. These noodles were different from those in Daxia, seemingly made from coarse grains, but the flavor was acceptable.

The noodles had chili, which Shen Chuwei didn’t mind as she enjoyed spicy food, but the other three were not fond of spice and barely managed a few bites before the heat got to them.

So while Shen Chuwei had finished her bowl, the three men had only taken a few bites, their lips red from the spice, gulping down water.

While they were enduring the heat of the noodles, Shen Chuwei went next door and brought back more food: roasted cakes and sweet soup.

"I bought some extra, do you want some?"

Having had enough of the spice, Lin Xian saw the soup and said, "I’ll give it a try."

After taking a sip of one of the bowls, he found it to be sweet and drank several more sips.

Wu Tan, who had always eaten plain vegetarian meals, was already accustomed to them, and suddenly eating chili was a bit too much for him, so he gave up. Seeing Lin Xian enjoying the sweet soup, he asked for a bowl for himself as well.

Ouyang Jingyuan, needless to say, was just recovering from a long illness and couldn’t handle spicy food, so, seeing the others packing it in, he also chose a bowl of sweet soup.

Princess Leyuan didn’t like sweet soup and naturally wouldn’t try it, sitting there awkwardly by herself.

When they left the snack street, everyone was full except for Princess Leyuan, who had not eaten her fill.

Shen Chuwei, who had eaten her fill, suggested sleepily, "Let’s go back."

Ouyang Jingyuan nodded with a smile, "Alright, we’ve been out for a while; it’s time to head back."

Princess Leyuan was still feeling hungry and wanted to go to a restaurant, so seeing them ready to return was exactly in line with her wishes; she could have the chance to wander the streets alone with Young Master Lin.

"Then you all go back; Lin Xian and I will take another stroll."

Of course, Shen Chuwei wouldn’t allow Xiao Jinyan and Princess Leyuan to be together alone. As a doctor, she could easily come up with a reason.

"How could that be? He has walked so much today, he needs rest. Otherwise, he will surely have leg pain and won’t be able to sleep tonight."

Princess Leyuan looked towards Lin Xian’s legs upon hearing that, lifting her head in confusion to ask him, "Young Master Lin, do your legs hurt?"

Lin Xian cooperatively nodded, "I have been walking quite a bit today, I indeed need to rest."

Ouyang Jingyuan added, "Sister, Lin Xian is just recovering from an injury, and he has suffered such a severe injury to his leg, you shouldn’t be capricious."

Princess Leyuan was reluctant but agreed for the sake of Lin Xian’s leg.

Shen Chuwei, satisfied with food and drink, had a smile in her eyes and brows on the way back.

Princess Leyuan, on the other hand, sported the opposite expression, visibly unhappy, in part because she was hungry.

After spending three more days in the Imperial City, when Princess Leyuan came to look for Lin Xian, he took his leave of her.

"Thank you, Princess Leyuan, for your care during this time. I plan to leave early tomorrow morning."
