Xiao Jinyan always had an excellent memory. He had lost the sachet once yesterday and after finding it, he had deliberately placed it inside his clothes.

Now that he couldn’t find it, he was naturally anxious.

He also had to attend the morning court session soon, which didn’t allow for any delay.

After getting ready, he opened the door and saw Chun Xi, who had already gotten up.

He instructed, "My sachet is missing. If you see it while cleaning the room, bring it to me."

Chun Xi nodded affirmatively, "This servant understands."

Xiao Jinyan added, "It’s the sachet personally embroidered by Lady Shen."

Chun Xi nodded vigorously, "This servant understands. Rest assured, Your Highness, as soon as I find it, I will bring it to you immediately."

With that, Xiao Jinyan left to attend the court session with peace of mind.

While Chun Xi was cleaning the room, Shen Chuwei was sound asleep.

Chun Xi didn’t wake Shen Chuwei, instead she started cleaning the room quietly and meticulously, while also looking for the sachet.

Shen Chuwei’s day-to-day affairs were all personally handled by Chun Xi.

After cleaning, she began to tidy up the clothes in the wardrobe.

As she took out the clothes, something suddenly fell out. She looked down and discovered it was the sachet.

Chun Xi quickly placed the clothes on top of the cabinet, picked up the sachet from the floor, and after examining it, recognized it as the one her mistress had embroidered.

She happily tucked it into her sleeve pocket and continued organizing the clothes.

Once the clothes were sorted, and seeing Shen Chuwei sleeping soundly, she trotted out.

At this time, Xiao Jinyan had just finished the court session and saw Chun Xi running towards him.

Chun Xi handed the sachet to Xiao Jinyan with joy, "Your Highness, it has been found."

Xiao Jinyan lowered his gaze to the cherished sachet in her hand, took it, inspected it carefully, and then put it away.

He asked, "Has Lady Shen woken up?"

"Your Highness, the mistress is still sleeping, but she should wake up shortly," Chun Xi said.

Xiao Jinyan nodded, "You may go back."

"Yes." Chun Xi happily scampered away.

From the way His Highness looked tense just now, it seemed he truly treasured the sachet the mistress gave him.

Who would have thought that an inconspicuous sachet could become so precious?

Hehe, the mistress is brilliant!

When Chun Xi returned, Shen Chuwei had woken up. After eating and drinking her fill, she couldn’t wait to look for the sachet in front of the wardrobe.

Chun Xi walked over, puzzled, "Mistress, what are you looking for? Tell this servant, and I’ll help you search."

"The sachet," Shen Chuwei replied without turning around.

Chun Xi proudly said, "So the mistress is looking for the sachet. I have already delivered it to His Highness."

Shen Chuwei paused in her rummaging and turned to look at Chun Xi, "You gave it to His Highness?"

Chun Xi, unaware of Shen Chuwei’s thoughts, continued smiling, "Yes, what’s wrong?"

"..." Shen Chuwei said, "Chun Xi, why didn’t you give it to me first?"

"Why does the mistress need the sachet? I saw that His Highness really liked the sachet you embroidered and carries it with him," Chun Xi laughed after saying so.

Shen Chuwei helplessly replied, "You don’t understand!"

Chun Xi looked at her cluelessly and said, "How would this servant understand if the mistress doesn’t tell me?"

"It’s fine, I’ll think of something else." Shen Chuwei had only just found out that Xiao Jinyan carried the sachet she gave him close to his body.

It was alright for a single person to carry something like that close to them.

But if there was a woman around, the effect would be very significant.

This was why the usually abstinent Xiao Jinyan turned so ravenous!

When Concubine Xu came by, waving her handkerchief, Shen Chuwei was reembroidering a sachet.

"The sun really must have risen from the west today; Lady Shen is actually embroidering," said Concubine Xu, who had come many times before and had never seen Shen Chuwei even touch a needle, let alone thread.

"It’s as if it did rise from the west," Shen Chuwei admitted, driven by desperation.

Curiosity got the better of Concubine Xu, "Why have you suddenly taken up embroidery?"

"That’s a long story," Shen Chuwei sighed.

"I heard Princess Xueyan accompanied the Empress for lunch today. It seems almost certain that Princess Xueyan will be entering the East Palace," said Concubine Xu, her voice full of resignation.

Engrossed in embroidery, Shen Chuwei responded noncommittally with a hum.

Concubine Xu looked at Shen Chuwei with curiosity, "Aren’t you afraid Princess Xueyan will snatch His Highness away?"

Shen Chuwei paused in her embroidery, looked up at Concubine Xu, and smiled, "If she can snatch him away, it means he was never mine."

"But the fact His Highness only allows you to serve him at night indicates he still likes you. However, people of the Royal Family, especially the future crown prince, are faced with many temptations. If His Highness becomes unfaithful..."

Concubine Xu hadn’t realized that after reading a few romance novels, she had led herself astray.

Shen Chuwei nodded in agreement, "You make sense."

Energized by the discussion, Concubine Xu asked, "So are you planning to stop Princess Xueyan from entering the East Palace?"

Shen Chuwei countered with a question, "What do you think?"

Concubine Xu put her hands on her hips, "I think, of course, you should use your clever brains to kick Princess Xueyan out and see if she still tries to seduce His Highness."

Shen Chuwei didn’t quite agree.

Little Guizi burst in, "Mistress, something terrible has happened!"

Shen Chuwei looked up at the frantic Little Guizi, "What’s the matter?"

Little Guizi was beside himself with urgency, "The chickens and ducks, they’re all unwell."

Shen Chuwei was somewhat panicked, "How could healthy chickens suddenly become unwell?"

"I don’t know. When I went to feed them this morning, I found the chickens unwell," Little Guizi nearly cried. Those six chickens and ducks he raised himself; the mistress trusted him to care for them, and now they were gone—of course, he was upset.

"Let’s go have a look," said Shen Chuwei, setting down her needlework and following Little Guizi to Xiyun Pavilion.

Concubine Xu, unsure of what had happened, followed them as well.

Arriving at Xiyun Pavilion, Shen Chuwei saw the chickens in the coop scattered about haphazardly, some motionless, others convulsing.

She hurriedly pushed through the door and upon inspection, realized they were poisoned.

Without wasting any time, she rushed into the house.

Little Guizi and Concubine Xu, confused, followed behind.

Shen Chuwei took out a glaze cup, and when no one was looking, she retrieved Spiritual Spring Water from her space to detoxify the chickens.

There was no time to prepare medicine; a second’s delay could mean the death of the chickens.

By the time Little Guizi, Concubine Xu, and others rushed in, Shen Chuwei had already finished taking the Spiritual Spring Water.

"Mistress?"

Shen Chuwei divided the water into three portions, keeping one for herself and giving the other two to Little Guizi and Gui Xiang, "Feed this water to the chickens."

"Yes."

Without delay, Little Guizi and Gui Xiang took the water and, following Shen Chuwei, hurried into the coop, feeding it to the animals they caught.

After some frantic efforts, six were saved, but five didn’t make it.

Little Guizi, seeing the fattened chickens and ducks he had raised die, was heartbroken.

Gui Xiang simply burst into tears, "Who is so malicious to poison chickens and ducks? Is this a lack of morals?"

Shen Chuwei felt even sadder than they did; she hadn’t even had the heart to eat them, and now they were gone.

Concubine Xu didn’t understand Shen Chuwei’s sorrow and consoled her, "They are just chickens and ducks; you can always buy more."
