When Shen Chuwei lifted her head, Xiao Jinyan saw that her eyes were red, clearly she had been crying.

In all the time he’d known her, he had rarely seen her cry. Mostly her eyes brimmed with smiles, especially when she was eating, her beautiful eyes curving into crescent moons.

He extended his slender fingers to caress her eyes, "Why have you been crying?"

Shen Chuwei looked at Xiao Jinyan in confusion, feeling that something was off. The incident had just happened not long ago. Had he forgotten so quickly?

"Don’t you remember what just happened?"

A flicker of confusion passed through Xiao Jinyan’s eyes, "What happened?"

Shen Chuwei suddenly thought of that night, Xiao Jinyan had also suddenly remembered her. But he was a little different from usual, his words and actions not quite the same as before.

Yet he still remembered her.

Just as Shen Chuwei was puzzled, she was suddenly embraced in a scorching chest. The embrace of summer was really hot...

"Did someone bully you? Who has the audacity to bully you?" Xiao Jinyan remembered Weiwei’s status. Even the Emperor showed her respect. Who would dare to bully her?

She hadn’t felt aggrieved until he brought it up. She pouted dissatisfiedly. Who else could it be but you?

Seeing her not speaking, Xiao Jinyan became anxious and worried. He released her and asked earnestly, "Shall we return to Daxia?

At the mention of returning to Daxia, Shen Chuwei eagerly nodded, "Yes."

Her greatest wish now was to return to Daxia with Xiao Jinyan. Although the Imperial Palace was deep and vast, it was also their home. She wanted to go back home.

Her eager agreement surprised Xiao Jinyan, but his surprise quickly turned to joy because Weiwei was willing to come home with him.

"We will leave for Daxia first thing tomorrow morning."

Shen Chuwei happily agreed, "Okay."

A smile appeared in Xiao Jinyan’s eyes, wishing they could return to Daxia immediately.

Then, thinking of his injury, she shook her head, "No, your leg isn’t healed yet, and you’re still wounded. It’s not good to travel; you need to rest."

Xiao Jinyan looked down at his leg. He had noticed the severe pain while walking earlier, moving slowly, and he didn’t remember how he got injured.

"Then, we’ll go back to Daxia once my leg is healed."

"Mhm." Shen Chuwei nodded vigorously and buried herself in his embrace, avoiding the wound on his chest while wrapping her arms around his neck.

Xiao Jinyan encircled her with his arms, clearly sensing the difference between her and the child from those years ago. While he was happy to be reunited with her, he still had many doubts. Why had he forgotten so many things?

Weiwei must be fifteen by now, right? Why was his memory of the past few years completely blank?

He lifted his head to glance around the room, noticing the furnishings were significantly similar to those in Nanzhao Country. Where were they?

Shen Chuwei lifted her head to look at Xiao Jinyan, remembering how just earlier in his room, it was only a kiss she had sought. Pushing her away would have been one thing, but then he also scolded her.

Now, she still felt a bit hurt inside.

Why couldn’t her own husband kiss her?

"Jinyan, kiss me."

Her voice was soft and sweet, slightly coquettish, and also carried a commanding tone.

Shen Chuwei tilted her chin up, puckering her lips slightly, appearing intent on reclaiming the kiss from before.

Xiao Jinyan was momentarily taken aback by her words. Seeing little Weiwei’s posture, he found her inexplicably adorable.

In his eyes, there was a clear distinction between men and women, and kissing on the cheek was already an overly intimate gesture, let alone a kiss on the lips.

"You’ve said that kissing is something only boyfriends and girlfriends can do—don’t go back on your word."

Upon hearing this, Shen Chuwei opened her eyes, about to tell him they were already husband and wife, and that kisses were just normal exchanges.

But before she could speak, she saw a shadow descend upon her, and her lips softened, filled with a familiar scent.

Shen Chuwei wrapped her arms around his neck, actively responding to his kiss.

Despite having kissed so many times, this was the first time Shen Chuwei had the upper hand. Usually, it was Xiao Jinyan who was relentless, leaving her no place to hide.

Her advantage didn’t last long before she was overwhelmed again.

Shen Chuwei felt like she could barely breathe until, thankfully, Xiao Jinyan pulled away. She gasped for breath, relishing the feel of fresh air.

Xiao Jinyan looked at the girl’s eyes, misty with desire, her lips parting and glistening. He couldn’t resist bending down to kiss her again.

Shen Chuwei buried her face in the crook of his neck, her drowsiness lingering, "Jinyan."

Xiao Jinyan held her close and softly responded, "I’m here."

"So sleepy," murmured Shen Chuwei, her voice low and a little coquettish.

"Then you go to sleep first." Xiao Jinyan tried to move her so she could lie down and rest on the bed.

As soon as they separated, Shen Chuwei clung tightly to him again. "Don’t leave, let’s sleep together."
