Shen Chuwei’s eyes flashed with confusion, "The Third Prince?"

The Palace Maid nodded in response, "Yes, Princess, it is the Third Prince."

Shen Chuwei, still puzzled, walked in, not sure how many sons Ye Haoting had, or whether they all held a special relationship with Feng Wuyou?

Otherwise, why would each and every one hurry to see her upon learning of Feng Wuyou’s return?

Shen Chuwei didn’t care about these Princes, it didn’t matter to her who came to see her, as long as she didn’t encounter that masked man.

Shen Chuwei climbed the arching bridge with a brisk pace, but just as she was about to descend with the same lightness, she saw, standing beside the swing under the Peach Tree, a figure in dark brocade robes, his waist cinched with a jade belt, looking slender and lean.

Her gaze was drawn to the silver mask on his cheek, no, it frightened her.

Though she could only see his profile, and couldn’t make out his features because of the mask, his high nose bridge, appealing lips, and distinct jawline were quite evident.

It was clear that the man under the Peach Tree was the masked man.

Shen Chuwei cursed inwardly, it really was true that the more one tried to avoid someone, the more likely one was to encounter them.

If she’d only known, she would have stayed to drink tea with Ye Haoting a bit longer, perhaps he would have left out of impatience.

Was it still possible to pretend she hadn’t returned?

Shen Chuwei really wanted to act as if she hadn’t seen anything and simply turn around and leave, but just as the thought occurred to her, the tiger-lion beast at her side had already excitedly rushed towards her...

"Roar woof," the tiger-lion beast wagged its tail while running, truly resembling a giant dog.

Shen Chuwei couldn’t help but roll her eyes, if you’re going to come, then come, what’s your name? Are you so eager to ensure everyone knows I’m back?

Seeing the masked man under the Peach Tree turn to look her way, Shen Chuwei, facing the huge tiger-lion beast, had a stroke of ingenuity and quickly crouched down, her petite frame easily concealed by the beast’s massive body.

When the masked man turned back, he saw only the tiger-lion beast and did not catch sight of Chuwei.

The tiger-lion beast looked down at Chuwei, puzzled why she had suddenly crouched down, blinked its large eyes twice, then backed up and tried to crouch as well.

Shen Chuwei, realizing its intention, patted the tiger-lion beast’s belly, signaling it to stand properly.

The tiger-lion beast nuzzled her hand with its nose.

Shen Chuwei was dying of nervousness and could only halfheartedly pat its nose, praying that the masked man would leave soon.

The tiger-lion beast happily twitched its snout.

Just as Shen Chuwei was silently praying not to be discovered, a somewhat familiar and spine-chilling male voice suddenly came from overhead.

"What are you doing?"

If the masked man weren’t so perverted, that voice might actually be quite pleasant.

No matter how pleasant, she never wanted to hear it in her lifetime!

Having been discovered, Shen Chuwei could only muster the courage to respond, "The tiger-lion beast is injured, I am checking on it."

By this time, she had guessed that the masked man was indeed the Third Prince.

Prince Ye Suhuan.

As she spoke, she kept her head low, hoping the masked man wouldn’t see her face.

Ye Suhuan looked at her with a smirk that wasn’t quite a smile, "Is that so?"

"Of course, I need to examine it thoroughly," Shen Chuwei replied without lifting her head, her slender hands fumbling over the tiger-lion beast with ostensible expertise. As a Doctor, making a show and striking a pose were still within her capabilities.

The tiger-lion beast was very cooperative, remaining perfectly still as she meddled.

Ye Suhuan walked around the tiger-lion beast and crouched down beside her.

Shen Chuwei saw the masked man crouch down as well and startled, quickly averted her face, her body instinctively shifting to one side. She couldn’t help but wonder internally, why was he crouching down?

Ye Suhuan called out, "Chuwei."

Shen Chuwei instinctively denied it, "I am not Chuwei, you must be mistaken."

Ye Suhuan chuckled softly, "If you are not Chuwei, why would you be at the Wuyou Palace?"

Shen Chuwei then realized she had inadvertently given herself away and wished she could have slapped herself unconscious to stop her from speaking out of turn.

But she was afraid of pain, and what if the slap didn’t knock her out, then she would have suffered for nothing.

Shen Chuwei kept her head down, not wanting to engage with the masked man, but thinking that staying silent would be an admission of her false identity, she would then be accused of imposture.

That would give the masked man even more reason to say she was a fake, and he might be more eager to drive her out of the palace than Princess Ye Anyu herself.

Gathering courage, she looked up at the masked man, first seeing that striking silver mask. She feigned surprise, widening her eyes.

"So it’s you..."

Ye Suhuan chuckled lowly, "It’s me."

Shen Chuwei asked again, "You are the Third Prince?"

Ye Suhuan nodded, "Yes, we’ve grown up together since we were children."

Shen Chuwei: "..." Feng Wuyou is really unlucky to have a childhood sweetheart as perverse as you.
