Story: The Phantom Wolf
Turning around, I came face to face with a giant ass bear.
It looked angry. Why was it so pissed off?
! Was I in its territory or something? It was growling and slowly coming closer.
Almost like it was stalking me. Even though I'm a fricking vampire, this shit is intimidating as fuck. I don't wanna fight this thing.
As I turned around to leave, it lunged towards me and tried to swipe me with its paw.
"I'm leaving man! Geez!" I shouted. I guess it didn't like me yelling at it, cause it went after me again.
"Seriously! Why are you so aggressive?! Bears are supposed to be cuddly if ya didn't know!
" Just about avoiding the attack in time.
"I don't wanna fight, so let me leave!" The bears only response was roaring in my face and trying to lunge at me again.
There's too much happening right now, I can't focus on my invisibility like this.
"Woah!" Jumping out of the way of its outstretched paw.
"The hell dude!" This bear is doing nothing but piss me off.
I'm not even attacking it or trying to fight back!
Why is it so insistent on killing me?! What did I do? !
Adrenaline was racing through me veins. I didn't know this could still happen, being a vampire and all.
"Ack, not the time!" I shouted as I dodged it jaws that were aimed at my head.
I'm physically shaking at this point, whether this is from anger or fear, I don't know.
I'm just putting everything I have at this point, into avoiding this damn bears assault.
"I don't really wanna find out if my skin is invulnerable today mate.
" Not slowing down, I start to find a rhythm and am able to dodge its attacks much better.
'Okay, just gotta keep this up until it gets tired, no biggie.
' I was dodging with ease for a while longer, until the bear took a cheap shot when I got distracted by a noise in the distance.
The bear head butted me, and knocked me to the ground.
"Alright, now I'm pissed!" I snarled. Lunging towards the bear with my hands outstretched, wanting to push it backwards a few metres.
To get it to back off. Instead, I pushed it to the ground and landed on top of it, pinning it easily with just my hands.
'Wow! I didn't know I'm that strong!' I thought happily.
Looking down at the bear, which was now struggling underneath me in fear, I noticed large silver furred paws holding the bear down.
I can't see my hands anywhere. I frantically looked around trying to figure out what had happened. Freezing upon looking behind me.
'Is that a TAIL!' I shouted out. All I heard was a bark in response. 'What the hell?'
I was looking at a long fluffy tail, it was silver in colour and the shape looked like that of a wolfs tail.
Travelling up the body I could see some hind legs.
They were large and strong looking. The feet were firmly planted on the ground and their claws were outstretched, digging into the grass.
Looking at them made me feel weird. So I turned and looked at the front paws, where my hand were supposed to be.
Realising that I could feel the bear breathing underneath me.
It had stopped its struggles and was gazing at me.
Watching me in either fear or confusion.
I couldn't quite tell. Nor did I care at this very moment.
Bear forgotten. I jumped off of it in shock.
Landing on all fours. 'I can feel everything!
I have four legs now?! And I'm covered in fur!
WHAT?!' All sense of rationality forgotten, I started running around in circles trying to look at myself.
'I'm a giant dog! WHAT THE FUCK!' My new body barking wildly as I screamed my head off.
Pearl, now in her wolf form was running around the small field in a blind panic.
The wolfs eyes were darting around the area wildly, trying to make sense of the situation.
The giant grizzly who was so insistent on fighting earlier, was now sitting back and watching the giant wolf in confusion.
Before ultimately loosing interest and grabbing the deer corpse, of which it had come to claim.
The grizzly got a firm hold on the corpse and started dragging it back towards its den, no longer interested in the strange creature it was previously fighting.
After quite some time had passed, Pearl collapsed from exhaustion.
She was able to think about the change her body had gone through.
Although, the contemplating didn't last long as she had become too tired to really care.
Having run in circles for hours, whilst barking frantically, in a panicked state.
It lead to an extreme lack of energy. After a few moments, Pearl shakily rose to her paws and started the long trek back to her cave, with much effort.
Walking on four paws was harder than she originally expected.
Stumbling over herself a couple of times, as well as tripping on the uneven ground too many times to count.
Although she had run around in circles at impressive speeds before, everything that happened then, was so instinctual that she didn't need to think about it.
Now that she was purposely walking at a slow pace, she was having issues, adjusting to the change.
It took about an hour to reach the lake.
At this pace, Pearl would be travelling for another 45 minutes in order to reach her home.
So she took the opportunity to drink and rest at the lake, for a while.
Bending over to drink from the water at the bank, she was able to get a good look at herself.
What she saw was a stunning silver wolf, adorned with bright blue eyes that had patches of gold inside of them.
Standing tall at 8 feet 6 inches, this ball of fluff and teeth was absolutely massive.
After taking a long drink, Pearl couldn't help but admire herself, as she looked at her reflection.
Her wolf was beautiful. She had to admit it.
'Maybe being a giant wolf isn't so bad' Pearl thought.
After a while, Pearl got up from her spot on the ground and continued on her way towards her cave for some proper rest. Loosing her balance less times than before.
Pearl seemed to be getting used to her new body.
Eventually making it to the caves entrance, she stumbled inside and collapsed from all the exhaustion that came from todays events.
The wolf curled up and got into a comfy position before allowing itself to fall asleep.
Believing it would be best to rest a while, and then try to figure out what had happened to her tomorrow.
Pearl fell into a dreamless sleep soon after.
Her newly discovered wolf form letting out huffs and low growls whilst it slept.
Back on the reservation, somewhere in Forks, a certain wolf pack, felt a new connection form within their pack link. However, they were unable to open it to communicate with the new member, nor were they able to locate its source.
