Story: The Phantom Wolf
'Yes. I want to.' I decided. I nodded my big furry head, in order to answer them.
Carlisle and Esme smiled warmly at me, having understood my head nod as accepting their offer. I took a step forwards and pushed my head into their arms. It was the closest way I could give them a hug in this form.
Carlisle and Esme wrapped their arms around my head in a gentle manner. The warmth I felt from their ice cold embrace was incredible. We stayed like that for a moment, then I heard their voices.
"Welcome to the family Pearl." The couple said into my silver fur. If I could cry in this form, I definitely would be doing so right now.
"Group hug!" Alice yelled and flung herself onto my back.
I didn't exactly get much time to react, but I managed to stay on my feet, despite Alice's force. Next thing I know, Bree is hugging my left side, Jasper and Rosalie are hugging my right, and Emmet had climbed up onto my back alongside Alice, who was burying her face into my fur.
'This feels weird, kinda ticklish... but, I like it. It's nice. I think I finally get why Bree likes hugs so much.' I thought.
"Never thought I'd be hugging a dog." Rosalie teasingly comments.
I huff at her, pulling my head away from Carlisle and Esme, I turn to face the blonde. 'I'll show you a dog.' I stick my tongue out and give Rosalie's face a good long lick.
Rosalie immediately jumped away from me and used her sleeves to wipe away my slobber from her face. "Eww! Gross!" She shouts.
The rest of the vampires burst out laughing at her. I was doing a wolf laugh as well, although it definitely sounded weird.
I gave her a wolf smirk and barked at her playfully. While wagging my tail happily.
Through his snickers, Jasper comments, "You did call her a dog." He justified my actions, so I barked at him in thanks. Rosalie glared at us threateningly, but I could see that there was a very small ghost of a smile on her face.
Still giggling, Alice exclaimed from the top of my back, "We need to get your stuff from your cave and sort out a new room in the house!"
'Alright, I'll go do that.' Nodding my head at her words, I sat down so that Emmet and Alice could get down. Once they did, I started walking towards my cave.
All my exhaustion felt like it was gone. It's like I've been reinvigorated or something. This feels good. I definitely made the right decision.
"You aren't leaving without us!" I heard Bree shout out enthusiastically from behind me.
I didn't even get the chance to turn around and look at her, because the next thing i know, I had an added weight on my back. She wasn't too heavy, but it was still surprising. I didn't expect Bree to want a ride.
I pouted slightly. 'They could at least give me some warning.' I think. 'Ah, what the hell.' I shrug it off and bark playfully at my imprint. 'If she wants a ride, then I'm gonna go fast. Gotta make sure I give her the full experience after all.'
I nod my head in my caves direction, signalling the rest of them to follow us. But before I can take off into a sprint, I heard Alice's voice.
"Could I get a ride too?" She asked carefully, clearly a little nervous but still hopeful.
I lower myself to the ground as an answer to Alice.
Allowing her to easily climb on. Alice gave me a bright smile and climbed onto my back.
Settling herself just behind Bree. I stood to my full height and I heard the two giggle with excitement.
Jasper chuckled from beside me, while watching his mate.
Emmet started pouting and complained, "Aww, I want a ride too."
"There's not enough room for three vampires to be on Pearl's back. If you want her to carry you, you'll have to ask her at a later date." Carlisle said.
Emmet sighed and agreed. "Okay fine." The frown on his face quickly turned into a mischievous smile. It looked like he had gotten an idea.
'What's he up to?' I wondered.
"Bet I can make it to your cave before you can Pearl!" Emmet challenged.
'Is he challenging me? He doesn't even know the way.'
Then Alice voiced exactly what I was thinking. "You dumbass! You don't even know where her cave is!" She exclaimed.
"Language!" Esme scolded her daughter.
"I have a good idea!" Emmet argued. "See you there sis!" He shouted and took off running.
'Not if I get there first!'
I took off as well, quickly getting into a fast paced sprint.
I felt Bree clutch onto the fur at the base of my neck.
I'm pretty sure Alice was holding onto Bree to keep herself stable, as I didn't feel a second set of hands intertwined with my fur.
It only took a few moments for me to start hearing the laughs of my imprint and Alice, my new sister.
I could feel their enjoyment flow into my mind.
Looking to the sides, I saw Rosalie and Jasper to my left, and Carlisle and Esme to my right. The four of them were keeping up quite well. When I directed my attention back in front of me, I saw Emmet just barely up ahead of me.
'The chase is on.' I smirked.
