Story: The Phantom Wolf
When the sun went down, the group had to relocate into the house.
Not wanting to work in the dark. Pearl had spent the last hour trying to think things over, only to get interrupted by different vampires every few minutes.
She eventually came to the conclusion that it would be best to spend the night on her territory.
Which would allow her to get some peace and quiet before the busy event that she was going to attend tomorrow.
Pearl left her spot by the wall in the living room and went to find Bree. It took a moment, but she was able to catch her in the kitchen, reading a book.
"Hey Bree?" Pearl gently tried to interrupt.
"What's up Pearl?" Bree replied, looking up from the book she was reading.
"I'm gonna head out." Pearl declared.
"Oh? What for?" Asked the vampire.
"I want to be alone for a bit, and, I need to go hunting as well. Best to do so on my own territory, you know?" Said Pearl.
Bree sighed in disappointment but nods her head. "Okay... I understand. Be safe Pearl."
Pearl smiles, "Of course."
Alice's voice rang out from upstairs. "You'd better be back before 9am Pearl! I still need to get you dressed up appropriately for the wedding!"
'Wait what?' Pearl thought confused. The confusion quickly turned to horror at the realisation that Alice had bought a couple of dresses that were specifically for her and Bree the other day. She must have intended for her to wear them.
"I'm good Alice! Don't need your help! Thanks though!" Pearl called up.
"You're not getting out of this Pearl! I bought you a dress and by god are you gonna where it!" Alice shouted.
Pearl grimaces and quickly calls out to Alice, "Alice Cullen! I'd rather walk around in front of everyone entirely naked, than be placed into a demonic skirt or cursed dress!"
Emmet started howling in laughter from the garden.
Him and Jasper, were just about to leave in order to fetch Edward for his bachelor party.
They were running a little late, but Edward surely wouldn't mind as that meant being able to spend more time with his bride to be.
They were a little worried about the scheduling but now, they were certainly thankful that they stayed long enough to hear and witness this.
Emmet's laughter echoed throughout the house.
Alice however, was able to shout over top of it. "You can walk around naked tomorrow over my dead body! You're wearing a beautiful dress that will compliment everything, even if it's the last thing I do!"
Pearl yells back, "Well your technically already a walking dead body! So I guess that means I can go naked!"
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Alice screeched at the top of her lungs, appalled by the sheer thought.
Growling slightly, Pearl conceded and turned to Bree. Mumbling, "Crazy Pixie."
Rosalie starts laughing from the living room, and chuckles could be heard from Carlisle and Esme who were in their own room. Bree was trying to hold in her giggles but, wasn't very successful.
Alice, having heard the hybrids last comment, yells back in indignation. "Who are you calling a crazy pixie, you dirty dog?!"
Rolling her eyes, Pearl chose to leave it there and not engage further.
Clearly she wasn't going to get the last word in and still be able to leave the house to be alone this week.
Squeezing Bree's hand on the way out to signal her leaving.
She exited the house and strips off her clothes behind a tree.
Wanting to save energy for her hunt, she refrains from using her gift.
Hanging her clothes on a low branch, Pearl then shifts into her giant silver wolf.
Luckily there weren't any voices in her head at this time.
Being so late, everyone must have already gone to bed.
Taking off into a sprint, Pearl started the long trek back home.
Pearl arrived at her cave 15 minutes later.
Curling up into a ball, like a cat does.
She thought hard about Carlisle's and Esme's offer to join their coven.
Wondering what life would be like for her, if she was to accept.
Although it certainly sounded like a good idea, and her life would likely improve a great deal if she were to join.
She couldn't help but also think about everything that could possibly go wrong if she associated herself with the coven on a permanent basis. It was a lot to consider.
Eventually, Pearl's mind settled enough for her to fall asleep in her wolf form. A couple of hours later, she was woken up by a voice in her head.
'Is Jacob back yet?' Embry asked.
'No. Not yet. No one's heard from him since the battle.' Quil answered.
'Yeah. Bella really messed him up.' Said Embry.
'Don't say that. He'll be fine soon. He has to get over her at some point, I mean, she's not even his imprint.' Quil spoke.
'I know. It's kinda weird if you ask me. It's like he has an obsession with her or something.' Embry replied.
'Hmm. Let's just hope he's able to find his imprint soon. That way, he'll finally be able to get over the leech lover.' Quil commented.
'Speaking of leech lovers. What do you think happened to that silver shifter who imprinted on that new born?' Embry inquired.
Quickly shielding her thoughts so that they wouldn't sense her. 'Oh geez. I probably shouldn't be hearing this.'
'No idea. Sam said that the leech doctor called him after the battle to inform him that the wolf ran off before the Volturi came.' Quil responded.
'That's what Carlisle told them? I mean... it's sort of believable... I guess.' Pearl thought.
'There's no way Sam believes that!' Embry shouted, frustrated.
'Or maybe not.' Thought Pearl.
'He doesn't.' Quil defended. 'Sam knows that the silver guy would never have left their imprint. So, the leech is definitely lying.'
'Crap! Okay... umm... I should just shift back. Don't need to hear this right now. But then again, this could be useful to know.' Pearl thought. Begrudgingly, she stayed in her wolf form, to continue listening in.
'Tsk. And no one has heard anything from this new guy? We all heard and saw him imprint. So that definitely means that he is part of the pack.' Embry complained.
'Nope. No one has. Not even sensed him since the battle. It's like he disappeared.' Quil answered.
'What a joke.' Said Embry.
'I know right.' Quil replied, snickering a little.
'Yeah. I'm not listening to this anymore.' Pearl decided. 'I've got a hunt to do.'
With that, Pearl shifted into her vampire form, loosing the voices in her head.
Getting changed into one of the sets of clothes she has stored in her cave, Pearl left to feed.
In order to be prepared for being around a ton of people, Pearl took down a total of 3 does, 2 stags and 4 wild rabbits.
By the time she was done, she was well and truly full, and if she had to guess, the time would have been around 7am.
Running as a vampire, she left her territory and headed towards the Cullen residence.
Once arriving at the Cullen house, Pearl was greeted by a very peppy Alice. Who was standing on the porch, holding a blue and black dress that had a few sequins on it. She was grinning from ear to ear.
"Oh hell no. Not a chance!" Pearl declared loudly, taking off in a sprint in the opposite direction. Unfortunately she wasn't able to make it further than 15 metres because she was tackled to the ground by a laughing Emmet and a smirking Jasper.
"Let's go boys." Alice ordered, entering the house with Emmet and Jasper following behind her, dragging a very unhappy hybrid along with them.
"Traitors" Pearl muttered under her breath. Knowing full well that everyone could hear her.
"Sorry sis. But, your wrath is no where near as bad as Alices' is." Emmet commented. Jasper nodded his head discreetly, agreeing with Emmet.
"I heard that." Said Alice in a slightly irritated voice.
"Sorry boss." Emmet quickly apologised, before he could be put on the chopping block alongside the hybrid.
