Page 76 of Corrupted Pleasure
After four years, Wynter might have finally developed a major crush. I just hoped it wasn’t with the wrong guy.
My eyes locked on the object of her crush.
Expensive suit. Fast car. Confident smile and something hot flaring in his eyes. It was all aimed at the woman next to me.
“Call me if you need me,” I whispered.
She leaned over, pressed a smooch onto my cheek, then grabbed her bag from the back seat, and shut the door. She rushed towards him in her pink ballet flats and a big smile on her face. He didn’t move an inch, but the intensity of his stare took my breath away. The heat of his gaze felt like a blazing furnace, and I wasn’t even the object of it. It was so strong, time seemed to slow, and his entire attention was on my golden-haired friend.
I wondered if Wynter could feel it. She had to. I couldn’t help but think that those two would either make the greatest love story or the most tragic one.
By the time I made it to Liam’s building, I wasn’t quite sure if I wanted to be the object of the look Wynter had gotten from her man or not. I didn’t exactly believe in love. Desire, lust, temporary fixation - yes. But not love. Just look at my non-existent relationship with my parents. I never even knew them.
On the elevator ride up to his penthouse, Liam’s eyes flashed into my mind. I’d never felt anything like this before. The way he made me feel was only read about in books or seen in movies. Maybe it was the same for Wynter.
My phone dinged and I pulled it out of my purse. It was our group chat.
*We could call the school Badass Females.*Of course, it was Juliette’s suggestion.
I quickly typed in my response.*We’d be cutting ourselves short if we only opened the school for girls. We could have an enhanced program for girls; the school should be for both genders.*
Ivy chimed in.*I agree with Davina. She has the best business sense among us.*
My lips curved into a smile. That was a first.*The Kingmakers?*I suggested, though I wasn’t serious.
Bubbles instantly showed up, and I could already picture Juliette typing vigorously.*Fuck that. We are making Queens not Kings.*
Ivy’s response came in.*Scratch that one. Diamond?*
*Ladies, I’m busy. Can we do this another time?*It was Wynter and it didn’t escape me that she didn’t say she was in the middle of her ballet class.
*How about St. Jean d’Arc? She was a badass female, and it would be a good cover for the exclusive school while to any outsiders it will seem like just another Catholic school.*
*Yes.*Juliette confirmed.*Though there will be nothing saintly going on in there.*
An emoji of a devil followed.
Then Ivy’s confirmation followed.*Yes.*
That was settled then. I didn’t expect a reply from Wynter, but I had a feeling she’d agree.
The elevator opened to the impressive foyer with Liam standing there.
My breath stuttered to a halt.
He was waiting for me. Like my own knight. Liam Brennan was the type of man that swallowed the room and made your heart flutter. He certainly made mine dance in the most unusual way.
His wide shoulders looked like they could take the weight of all the world’s problems and keep you protected. The muscles that I felt firsthand a few nights ago were strong and bulky. My ass burned with the memory of his palm smacking against my flesh.
Good God!
I never thought I’d allow a man to spank me, much less enjoy it. But I did. So much that just thinking about it made me achy and wet.
“Davina,” he greeted.
His voice did things to me. It was husky and raspy, it was pure sex. Maybe I could ask him to just talk and I’d touch myself. It wouldn’t take me long to orgasm. Especially after experiencing his mouth against my thighs. It had to be that scruff of a beard.
“Mr.-” My words faltered when he narrowed his eyes on me. “Liam.”
