The moment I saw one of the quad friends was missing, I knew something was up. Though I never imagined I was being robbed.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck.” Davina’s soft curses filled my office, as she dropped a stack of money.

My resolve to move forward with the plan firmed up. I knew exactly how she’d settle her debt.

I strode to Davina who was still ass down on the floor, her little panties on display, and her eyes full of terror. She blushed crimson and the only sound filling the room was her heavy breathing. The loud music of the club was drowned out by the soundproof walls I had installed in this office.

“Let me guess,” I drawled. “The other three are meant to be a distraction while you are here robbing me.”

Her shoulders slumped and her gaze darted away from me. I could practically see her thinking as her eyes roamed the room. She contemplated her scenarios on how to get out of this situation. There were none. Her only way out was blocked by my frame.

Then her lips thinned and her eyes flashed in defiance.

“Fucking wrong,” she said in a sultry tone.

“Enlighten me then. Why is my safe open, and why are your hands on my money?”

She shrugged, her eyes narrowing on me in displeasure. I guess her comment about me being panty melting hot only stood to reason when the girl was drunk.

“Safekeeping.” I honestly had to bite the inside of my cheek not to laugh. She and her friends, including my own daughter and niece, were robbing me and she called it safekeeping.

“I love your sassy mouth,” I drawled. I really did. “Keep it up, and I’m going to find out just how good it works.”

She gasped, her eyes widening. “You’re my best friend’s father!”

I drawled. “What makes you think something so small will keep me away from you?”

She shook her head, though I wasn’t sure whether it was at me or herself.

“It’s time you pay off your debt,” I said. “Stakes just got higher with your stealing from me after watching me in the shower.”

I watched her luscious mouth open, then close. I was almost disappointed there wasn’t another sassy remark.

“Stand up,” I ordered her. When she didn’t move, I barked, “Now!”

I wasn’t accustomed to not being obeyed. Except for Juliette and Wynter, of course. Hence, they spent more time in California than here.

Davina watched me warily as she got to her feet, grabbing the backpack where she stacked the cash and zipped it up.

God forbid my own cash fell out of the bag. Though, I might just let her earn it.

Straightening up, she tilted her chin defiantly and shot me a glare. “Now what?”

The corner of my lips tugged up. The woman had courage, that was for sure. My eyes roamed down her body, in that black mini dress that covered barely anything but still left plenty to the imagination.

I shut the door behind me. It was better we didn’t have witnesses for what’d follow for the young black-haired beauty.

Pushing both my hands into my jean pockets, I strode over to the desk and leaned back against it. She watched my every move, waiting. She pursed her lips as if she was annoyed that I interrupted her.

The door to my office swung open and Quinn entered.
