Page 74 of Corrupted Pleasure
*Tomorrow. My place. I’ll send the address ahead of time.*
The girl needed a major intervention.
CHAPTER33
Liam
“Gio DiLustro is asking questions about Davina,” Quinn grumbled. “Angelo is inquiring about her.”
Angelo was Gio’s hacker and bodyguard. Much to my dismay, he was very competent.
We sat in my home office at the penthouse. I had another two hours before Davina would arrive. And this latest development of Gio DiLustro’s interest in Davina was the most disturbing. What was that saying… when it rains, it pours.
It certainly did. Russians that kept attacking. The girl squad shit. And now this.
“Fucking DiLustro,” I cursed. If he started sniffing around Davina, it would lead him to my niece and Juliette too. “What did he find out so far?”
“Not much,” Quinn grumbled back. “Just basics. Her name. Place of birth. Her ex-boyfriend. Morrelli was able to divert most of the search to insignificant details.”
“Good. Let’s keep it that way.”
“You should know he went to see him.” When I raised my eyebrow curiously, he clarified, “Her ex-boyfriend.”
“If her ex-boyfriend is idiot enough to entertain a DiLustro, fuck him.” I gave zero fucks about him.
He wasn’t my problem. Davina and my family were my only concern.
My desk phone rang and I answered it. “Yes.”
“Liam Brennan.” A cold, Russian accented voice came through the speaker. It was either Pakhan or Alexei Nikolaev.
“Yes.”
“Alexei Nikolaev.”
Thank fuck!
“Thank you for getting in touch,” I said. “Cassio mentioned you just had a baby so I’m sure it’s not a good time.”
“No.”
Okay then. “I hear you’re the best at tailing people. I need someone watching four women and keeping them safe until I get the threat neutralized.”
However fucking long that takes.
“Why?”
“How much has Cassio told you?” I inquired.
“Nothing.”
There was a reason Cassio was trustworthy. “My niece is related to the Pakhan. Officially, she and her mother died twenty-one years ago. Unofficially, they are still alive.”
A heartbeat of silence. “Women’s names,” he demanded in a hoarse voice.
This man really didn’t like to talk. “Wynter Flemming, Juliette Brennan, Ivy Murphy.”
“Fourth name.”
