Page 130 of Corrupted Pleasure
“What?” Juliette retorted dryly. “You want to moan his name too?”
Ivy giggled like a lunatic in the back seat.
“Shhh,” I hushed them. “He’s looking our way.”
Instantly, the inside stilled. “There’s no way he heard us,” Wynter whispered. “Right?”
I didn’t think so but maybe the Jeep shaking from our dumbasses caught his attention.
“He can’t hear,” I murmured. “But maybe he thinks someone is having sex in here.”
“Maybe he wants to join in,” Juliette scoffed and Wynter snorted, then giggled. She pressed her hands over her mouth, trying to stifle it.
Then the door slammed and a car engine roared to life. “Fuck, that was close,” I muttered.
We remained hiding in our Jeep for another five minutes, just to ensure he was gone. Did it make sense? No, but none of what we did made sense.Better safe than sorry, my grandfather always said so we applied that here.
“Are you sure it wouldn’t be wiser just to wait here?” Juliette asked.
“It’d look suspicious,” Wynter reasoned. “We don’t want someone to wonder why we’re sitting in the parking lot.”
“Ok.”
So after we were certain Priest was long gone, the four of us exited the Jeep, wearing identical black, sleeveless mini-dresses. The point was to distract men and by the glances thrown our way as we made our way to the main entrance, I was certain we succeeded.
We got several whistles trailing behind us, but none of us paid them any mind. We were on a mission. We walked around to the front entrance where a line already formed though it was barely seven. Eager partygoers.
Wynter paired with Ivy while I had Juliette with me. We strutted into the club like we belonged there. Two bouncers blocked our entrance when Wynter regaled him with her famous ice stare.
“I was here before with Bas,” she announced, her chin raised like the Queen she was. Jesus, she could put on a performance.
“She’s still messing around with this Bas?” Juliette whispered in my ear. I shrugged.
The other bouncer nodded. “She’s good, I was here when he brought her,” he told him. “It’s his woman.”
Both men’s eyes traveled over the four of us and then stepped back respectfully. Jesus, who in the fuck was Bas to be able to enforce such respect?
“Go ahead,” they urged and Wynter glanced over her shoulder, ensuring we were coming.
She tilted her head at both of them and murmured her thanks. We walked past the cloakroom tinged in reddish lights and a bar area. Behind it the doors opened to a dark dance floor and a large skull sign on the furthest wall.
Kingpins of the Syndicate.
Music blasted towards us and we walked into the club. The beat vibrated under our feet but the dance floor wasn’t quite crowded yet. A few bodies writhed and we made our way between them towards another bar.
“His woman?” Juliette asked, narrowing her eyes on Wynter.
Wynter just shrugged. “It’s Neanderthal talk,” she explained, which said absolutely nothing.
We ordered a round of sodas and as we waited, my eyes traveled over the club and the people in it. It was clear the club was geared towards the upper echelon of society.
Ivy and Juliette set their drinks down and moved onto the dance floor, while Wynter remained next to me.
Juliette and Ivy grinned widely, throwing their heads back and laughing as they started writhing to the beat. We watched them move their hips and butts, shaking and rolling their hips like they were professional dancers. Or strippers that didn’t quite get to taking their clothes off.
“They need a pole,” Wynter muttered, giving me a side glance and we burst into a fit of giggles.
“So Bas, huh?” I asked her.
