Page 108 of Corrupted Pleasure
“Now, eat,” I ordered her. “We want to feed those curves. We’ll burn off the calories when we get home. With you bent over our bed.”
She gasped, her lips parting lightly.
I picked up a bite-sized, heart-shaped sandwich that looked ridiculously tiny in my large hand. I’d give it to my cook, he had an imagination. But when I saw Davina gushing over it, I decided to give him a fucking big-ass raise.
“Open wider,” I demanded.
“That sounds so dirty when you say it with that look in your eyes,” she complained but opened her mouth nonetheless.
I put the piece in, all the while chuckling.
“You seem relaxed out at sea,” she noted, after finishing a bite and reaching for another. But rather than feeding herself, she offered it to me. “Heart for you and heart for me,” she teased.
“I am relaxed at sea,” I admitted. “Less people around. And less chances of someone killing me.”
I opened my mouth and she fed me the heart shaped sandwich.
“I love the sea too,” she replied softly. “For different reasons. Obviously.” Then she tilted her head, watching me and I wondered what she saw. “You won’t get killed, will you? I kind of want more dates before our time is up.”
“Baby, death won’t stop me from taking you on more dates,” I told her. “Or from enjoying your mouth, your body, and most of all, your company for the rest of our days in our long life.”
She chuckled. “Then we won’t have a problem.”
“My wife wants to keep me around, huh?” I teased her.
“I do.” She bumped her shoulder gently against mine. “You created a greedy beast. Now I want sex all the damn time.”
I threw my head back and laughed loudly. “You were a beast all along, Davina. You were just waiting for me.”
She rolled her eyes again, though an affectionate smile played around her lips.
The sun had set and the sky had darkened. The lights on the boat were dimmed and it almost felt like we were the only two humans in this world.
“This is so damn romantic,” she murmured. “You earned some points.”
“That’s the goal,” I murmured, skimming my mouth over her cheek. “Earn enough points to make sure you are happy.”
And to keep that soft glow in her eyes.
“Your eyes are shining so beautifully,” I murmured. “The stars are no match for you.”
At that very moment, the sky lit up.
“Fireworks,” she gasped. Her awed gaze held to the sky as the colors lit up the quickly darkening night. I sat back, watching her. I had secured it just for us. Colors danced across the dark skies, dazzling and captivating, but to me nothing shone brighter than my wife.
Then a deep exhale left her lips and her eyes snapped to me.
“Liam, did you-” She left it unspoken, then her eyes returned to the sky. “Is that-”
I never thought I’d see that sassy mouth at a loss for words. The sky above us sparkled with a question ‘Will you marry me?’ and her eyes shimmered with emotions.
“It’s a yes or no answer, Céile,” I murmured, brushing my lips over her earlobe.
“But we’re already married,” she rasped, her voice trembling.
“Aye, but this is the way I should have done it,” I told her. It was true. Would I have still forced her to marry me? Yes. But she deserved the wooing, and I wanted to give it to her. This attraction between us was unique, and I was certain that we would have ended up exactly where I fast-forwarded us to.
“My answer is yes, Liam,” she whispered and her eyes sparkled like diamonds. The fireworks paled in comparison to her shine.
