Story: My Tempting Woman
Robert was the first kind to speak. “ Eva dear, I have a suggestion for you. “
“Hmm?"
"See, I am not a chef like Richard, but I am sure after tasting this that you didn’t need classes as you are already a chef. It was one of the best cupcakes. Great job, keep it up."
Eva bit her lip to control her sobs. She muttered a small thank you to Robert too
But she was getting eager to listen to a word of appreciation from Richard’s mouth as he would judge her more specifically
Richard finished the cupcake and drank some water first. All the bad thoughts started churning in her mind. She thought maybe it was too dry from inside for his dislike; she was on the verge of a panic attack. Stephen was also getting annoyed by Richard‘s delay. He thought he was showing off his importance to Eva. He decided that if Richard muttered a wrong word against his love, then he beat Richard into pulp, not here today but later.
Richard looked at Eva and started in a confident tone. “Eva, I have an offer for you."
Now Eva was sure that he was going to scold her for choosing this career and must be offering to join his classes for improvement. Still, she took some courage and gave a nod at him to continue. There was a pin-drop silence. All heads turned towards Richard; William and Robert were also curious to know the upcoming offer. Whereas Stephen made a fist ready to punch Richard, he didn’t care for the outcome now.
“I want to offer you a job as head of desert cuisine in my new restaurant.”
The people present in the drawing room took some seconds to observe the new information, whereas Eva was looking at Richard with her mouth agape. Rose broke the silence and jumped to hug Eva. Eva was still in shock. Tears of happiness started flowing from her eyes. She couldn’t believe what she heard now
Steve jumped to hug Richard. “I just told you to say kind words, but you offered her a freaking job. excellent man”.
“ She deserves this and much more You know she made it better than me, Eva; it was so delicious, Trust me, I need someone like you in my restaurant You are so perfect with this, dad. Is so right? You really don’t need any classes."
Rose wiped her tears and made her drink some water
“Thank you so much for these kind words. And your offer too. Trust me, it will be an honor to work with you, but I am sorry I cannot accept it.”
Everyone looked at her in shock as she was refusing an offer of her mentor
Chapter 16: Missing cupcakes
Richard was looking at the petite girl standing in front in astonishment. He was still trying to believe that she refused his job offer as people ate, ready to die to just work with him, but here this girl refused it without even wasting a second.
Before he could ask the reason, Eva started with her explanation. “I know you are giving me a lifetime opportunity, and I am honored by this, but I have my responsibilities. I have to take care of my family, which comprises only my dad. My world revolves around him only. My hometown is special to me because I was raised there, and my small house is filled with memories of my mother. In the future, my dad will never leave the house or the town. And I cannot leave my dad alone... I’m sorry for denying your offer, but I hope you can understand my point too.
Richard just gave a curt nod at the girl who impressed her, but Robert asked,
“Don’t misunderstand, my dear, but what will you do after your marriage? I mean, move from your dad’s place to your husband’s place
Eva smiled at Robert. “I know, sir, what you are asking me, but I didn’t think about this yet, and one thing is very clear: my father is my priority, and no matter what, I will never show my back to him for any reason."
Rose patted her shoulder. Tears brimmed in her eyes listening to Eva. How lucky was Michael to have a girl like her? That was the only thought running through Rose’s mind
The people present in the living room were quietly admiring Eva and her values.
After some more chatting, the Smith family started for their home.
When Eva bid goodbye to Richard, he gave a warm smile, followed by his talk. " I am impressed with you, Eva, whether it’s your cooking talent or your values. Well, I want you to get the best training, so if you don’t mind, you can join my weekend class. It mostly takes place in the morning, and I am the one who tutors in it if I am in town. It’s a special class for weekends. For all my culinary students
Eva started fidgeting with her fingers again about how she was going to pay for it. ““But I am not even your student.”
Richard observed the hesitation and uneasiness on her face and then again started politely. "One more thing. You are attending this class as my guest, so no formalities required, OK?”
Eva gave a grateful smile at him and then left for the car
Rose was standing beside her family watching Eva talk with Richard
“They both look fantastic together. I don’t know why this foolish girl denied.”
“Hmm?"
