After an hour, Eva finished her task, coating the cupcakes with beautiful icing. She packed some of them in a beautiful box while keeping some in the fridge for the Smith family. Then she left for her room to get ready.
After getting ready, she reached the living room, and she wore a beautiful dress and applied minimum make-up. When Stephen spotted her descending the stairs, he was.
Again lost in her beauty, she was the most beautiful girl he ever came around. Her simplicity is something that attracts him more towards her. Rose showered her with compliments, whereas Steve threw a flying kiss at her, which she royally ignored.
They all were leaving the home when Eva called out for Stephen
For a minute Stephen thought he was hallucinating, still being turned around to see Eva standing in front of him, fidgeting with her fingers. Rose understood that she was hesitating to thank Stephen. She told William
“I think we should leave William, as I have to get some gift gifts from the store too, and Eva, dear, why don’t you come along with Stephen and Steve?”
Despite Eva's lack of acknowledgement, she felt compelled to give her consent, as declining everything would not be perceived well.
Steve left to attend to some call, leaving Eva and Stephen in the living room
Stephen noticed her nervous expression, and it was not something new for him as she was like this with him from day one. Stephen kept waiting for her to start
“Is there something you want to say? Or should we leave?”
"Hmm, no, I want..." Eva took a deep breath and then started, "Mr. Stephen, I am sorry for last night; trust me, I never wanted to enter your study or disturb your privacy, but it was the demand of the situation... and also thank you for helping me out with that work and not complaining about me to Rose'."
Stephen was on cloud nine, listening to her. Her words boosted her ego and desire for her. But he was helpless before his nature, so he guided his emotions well and started in his bitter tone.
“It’s ok, but next time if you need something from my study, then ask me."
"Yes, sure."
Soon, they started the journey. It was torturous as Steve was sitting beside her, talking nonstop about his series of affairs. He was narrating all this as his achievements. Whereas Eva was not even taking an interest in his talks, she was only worried about the box to be carried properly as she doesn’t want the cupcakes to be spoiled.
Stephen, who was sitting in the front seat noticing Eva from the rearview mirror, noticed the way Eva was getting bored with Steve and he was glad about it but he was eager to know why she was holding the box so carefully
Active 1: After half an hour, they reached Richard's house, and when Eva stepped out of the car, the decorations mesmerized her. Until now, she had been expecting only a few of Richard's or his dad's family friends to be invited because it was a surprise party. However, the scene in front of her was the opposite of what she had imagined, as they adorned the beautiful villa with lavish decorations.
Eva was filled with regret over her decision to attend this party, and upon noticing the small box containing her cupcake, she promptly returned it to its place on the seat. She cannotembarrass herself or the Smith family in front of many people who belong to the elite class.
Chapter 15: Birthday party
Eva looked at the other guests who were entering the party. The first thing she noticed was the ladies who were arriving at the party, all dolled up in designer dresses. Some dresses were too revealing for Eva’s dislike.
Eva was glad that she wore a dress that Rose suggested to her.
Steve offered her hand to her. She looked at the hand and then at Steve
"Do you think I will enter this party with you, especially after listening to all about your flings from your mouth only? So no thanks, I don’t want to be in the news tomorrow tagged as your new girlfriend
“So what! that’s good; you will be famous too.”
“Trust me, I never want to be famous like this in my dreams."
Steve was looking at Eva in astonishment, as until now he faced girls who were dying to make a public appearance with him. And here is this stupid girl who is not ready to enter the party with him
“If you both are done with your foolish argument, so shall we move inside?"
An icy voice which belongs to Stephen made Eva and Steve startled and they both gave a nod like kindergarten kids
So Stephen entered first. Behind him was Eva and then Steve.
