A crisp voice again got their attention as Stephen walked towards his chair, which was placed between Eva and Steve. Eva’s eyes got wide in surprise. She wanted this to be a hallucination or a bad dream, but to her misery, it was nothing like that. As the devil Stephen was now sitting beside her., and now she didn’t have any way to repeal
“Eva, “Steve answered his question.

Listening to Stephen’s impersonal voice, everyone got startled first, as Rose and William were not expecting this kind of reaction from Stephen. After the encounter in Stephen’s room, they never saw Stephen on talking terms with Eva. But the most terrified one was Eva. She blinked her eyes twice to ratify the scene in front.
“Really?” Stephen asked Steve with raised eyebrows
Steve smirked as he already saw his brother’s effect on Eva, so he teased her more.
“Yes. Brother, she is going to leave this house.”
Stephen’s appearance got stiff, but he was a genius at hiding his emotions; he was just confirming it as he already heard their conversation. And knew very well that his mom was just teasing Steve, but he wanted to see his effect on Eva. In the evening too, he noticed how Eva left in a hurry the moment she noticed her presence.
Eva could sense his intent gaze on her, but she didn’t dare to look in his direction, as she didn’t want him to know about her fear for him. She kept her so-called strong facade. She kept her tears at bay, as whenever Stephen used his vocal skills, her heart started sinking listening to his dangerous voice.
Rose witnessed all this and interfered to handle the situation. “ooh! Come on, she is not going anywhere. We were just kidding Come on now, everyone. Enjoy your dinner."
Stephen released his fist and started having his dinner, and so did the others, but Eva couldn’t have the courage to enjoy the food sitting beside the devil. She already lost her appetite and interest in the food placed in front of her. Till now she was planning to have a heavy dinner to get free of her midnight strolling for food. But now having a proper meal was difficult for her.
Still, she finished whatever was left on her plate. As soon as she finished the last bite, she didn’t stay any longer and wished the others goodnight and left for her room. William excuses himself to attend a call.
Rose was furious at the way Steve and Stephen were treating Eva, so she scolded both of them.
“What’s the issue with both of you?”
Stephen and Steve both glanced at her mother. “What’s the problem, mom? What are you talking about?” Steve asked innocently
“Steve was already teasing her all the time, and now you too, Stephen. Can’t you see how scared she was? Please spare her both of you.
Steve pouted, whereas Stephen just shrugged his shoulders. Rose took a deep breath to calm down her nerves and then left for her room.
When Eva attained her room, she took a deep breath to calm down her quickening heartbeat.
‘ Damn His voice,” she mumbled with closed eyes
She changed into her nightwear and got settled on the bed. But sleep was hard for her as the encounter with Stephen at the dinner table, and the second reason was that tomorrow was the first day of her classes. Eva was excited and nervous, like a child who was going to attend her first day in school.
Eva recollected a sweet memory of her dad, as on her first day of school, her dad stayed outside the school the entire time, not wanting his daughter to feel uncomfortable or scared.Eva was a shy girl and introvert too, so he stayed outside the kindergarten school only.
A smile appeared on Eva’s face. She was missing her dad badly. A sudden ringtone broke her memory lane. She looked for her phone the moment she noticed her dad’s incoming call. She jumped into the squatting position and picked up the call.
“Dad. How are you, dad? You are taking excellent care of yourself, right?”
"Relax, Eva; I am a fine princess. How are you? Why am I even asking? I knew you must be fine there. Right. I called you to wish you all the best. It’s your first day tomorrow. Don’t be a princess. Remember, you are my strong girl, okay?. Just soothe your mind; go there; maybe you can make new beneficial friends.”
Tears started flowing from Eva’s eyes. Her father knew her so well.
Michale kept saying sweet words to her, and Eva used to give small yes or no’s in between the talks.
“Okay, now I have to go back to the site. Hmm, take care, sweetheart. I will call you soon. Goodnight princess.”
"Goodnight, dad, I love you and I miss you so much.'
Michelle got tears while listening to her daughter’s shaky voice. He already knows while talking to her she is crying.
