Jai
For a timeless moment after that kiss, Jaimie held his body completely still, not breathing. He realized that his mind was totally blank, with only the image of this alpha now stamped there, replacing all rational thought. Jai had to fight to think straight, as he was both thrilled and terrified by his response to Nickolas. It felt wrong thinking of him as anything but alpha. He exuded that raw alpha thing that made all Jai’s omega instincts kick in.
No alpha had ever had the same effect on him. His reaction to this man he barely knew was his first lesson in sexual attraction. He took in a quivering breath of oxygen, replenishing his starved lungs. Who was this alpha who had totally captured his attention?
As shaken as he was, and as hard as his heart hammered, he didn’t want to leave. The alpha looked at him as though he mattered like he thought Jaimie was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen.
Jaimie’s body seemed to be developing responses all of its own. His shirt felt abrasive against his chest, and there was a heaviness low in his pelvis that made it a challenge for him to remain still. Not to mention how slick his ass had gotten.
His tummy flipped, he felt alarmingly short of breath and very hot. It was as if a fever had hold of him and his temperature was rising out of control.
Nickolas rose to his imposing height of six feet four inches, towering over Jaimie. The alpha stretched his hand out inviting Jai to take it, and like a man captured in a trance, Jai couldn’t help but comply. How could he do anything but? When it came from a man as powerfully built as the alpha in front of him. He wasn’t too naïve to understand what the alpha was offering. He took in the bold, dark masculine beauty that was on offer and realized if there was ever a time to jump in and behave like people his age, now was it, for when would he ever be presented with such an opportunity again.
Jai felt like his heart was pounding right at his throat. His fingers tightened around Nickolas’ hand, and he realized he was thrilled, and anticipating what was to come. When he looked up, he locked on to the stunning dark golden gaze, his mind made up, and at that moment Jai couldn’t take a breath to save his life. His mind was screaming, please kiss me again. But he was too tongue-tied to say those words out loud.
Nickolas must have seen something in his eyes, or maybe just noticed Jai's intent gaze on his lips, because Nickolas lowered his head and claimed his mouth in another earth-shattering kiss. Jai’s whole body lit up like the fireworks he saw out his window on the fourth of July. It was energizing, but left him dizzy and disoriented. His whole body pulsed and tingled in response. Warmth pooled in his tummy and hardened his dick. He shivered violently at the glide of Nickolas’ tongue against his. The throb of desire flashed through Jai’s small frame, making him moan.
He knew he was good, his whole body felt boneless and he was only being held up by the strength of his alpha. He never wanted to stop kissing. Why had he waited so long to do this? His body felt tight and unfamiliar to him.
A part of him screamedrun. That he shouldn’t be here doing this with this alpha. That he was reaching above his station, and Nickolas was more suited to some perfect omega that complemented him in beauty and grace, not him, plain old Jaimie Knox, an omega with no pedigree. But it was too late for those thoughts. The hunger that had been awakened would only be put out by seeing this through.
Nickolas was as perfect a specimen of an alpha as Jai could have imagined. Not that he had ever, but if he had then Nickolas would have been perfection come to life. Jai took in the high hard cheekbones, the flawless aristocratic nose, the perfectly sculpted mouth that he knew was capable of so much pleasure. Yes. If he was going to lose his virginity then he couldn’t have picked a better option. Not that he had. He realized that right now his brain wasn’t even capable of supplying him with the reason he had come to the office in the first place. But it was screaming no, no, no. And for some reason, it sounded like his nana’s voice, telling him to stop. He knew she would say he shouldn’t sleep with an alpha without a commitment or even a first date. Unfortunately for the first time ever his body was chiming in and it was screaming, yes, and this time, it looked like his body would win out.
“I didn’t mean to interrupt.” Jai breathed out.
“You’re a wonderful interruption little one, trust me,” Nickolas replied, with a look Jai could only describe as animalistic. Almost like he’d entered into the lion's den unknowingly.
“I just came to apologize for the mess I made yesterday. I swear I can do better.” Jai said in a low tone, hoping like hell that reminding Nickolas of his blunder didn’t get him fired. Although, he would bet that the man didn’t need to be reminded of much, if anything at all.
“You sound nervous,” Nickolas said, bringing his fingers up to Jai’s face and smoothing out the worry lines that had shown up there.
“I… I’m just… I’m not usually that clumsy,” Jai replied, but he couldn’t miss the butterflies that seemed to have taken residence in his tummy at the tender gesture from the alpha. It didn’t escape his notice that they were still standing extremely close to each other, and all he could feel was the alpha’s body heat, and his intoxicating smell of fresh cut grass and peppermint, and Jai knew it would be forever etched in his mind.
The hand Nickolas used to smooth out the worry lines moved down cupping his jaw, then a finger came out and brushed over his lips, making his whole body shudder. Jai wasn’t sure what to do with all the new sensations that were being wrought on his body.
“I feel I should apologize for the kiss. But I’m not sure I can, I would never make unwanted advances towards an employee. But they’re not unwanted are they?” Nickolas said, still moving the pads of his fingertips against Jai’s lips while staring at him unblinking. Jai couldn’t figure out what all the sensations running through his body meant, but he didn’t want them to stop.
Jai had to admit, he loved the way Nickolas spoke, all fancy and proper. But it made it even clearer, that he was so out of Jai’s league. What on earth could an alpha like him see in Jai? But he chose not to dwell on that right this moment. Instead, he nodded, and stammered out his answer, “Yes… I mean no, they’re not unwanted.” Because he didn’t care what anyone thought or said, he couldn’t lie. Nickolas wanting him was something he wanted, too. Something he wanted very much. He felt warm all over and he was trembling just thinking of what could occur between him and the alpha. Jai wasn’t a total rube. He knew what happened between alphas and omega. Sex-ed had been provided at his school.
Plus, his mind supplied, if he was going to go down this road, it might as well be with an alpha who was the definition of perfection. And Nickolas was most certainly that, with his high cheekbones, perfect aristocratic nose, flawless bronzed skin tone, that Jai could never hope to achieve even if he spent a year in the sun. And those intense, mahogany-brown eyes, that looked like they could see into his soul. His mind said, if there ever was an alpha to lose brain cells over, Nickolas was the one. He hesitated at calling the alpha beautiful. The near predatory look in that gaze almost stopped him from using any words at all, but he was, the same way a panther was beautiful, as long as you knew it was also deadly.
