Nickolas
Nickolas woke hot and aching from the hottest dream he’d ever had. Jaimie, the bewitching redhead, had revved up his libido. What was it about him that made Nickolas want to throw out his no sex with employees rule? Was it the simple fact that he was deemed untouchable in his mind? But that couldn’t be it, could it? There were more than a handful of omegas working at his company, and Jaimie was the first to bring on such a reaction.
It had never been an issue for Nickolas, even though both omegas and females had thrown themselves at him time and time again over the years. He had never responded or been tempted to, not even once. And there had been some none too subtle approaches.
Nickolas firmly believed no one should shit where they ate. Work was work, and play was play, and the two were never to interact. But rules were meant to be broken, his brain supplied helpfully, or unhelpfully, depending on how one looked at it.
As he drove himself to work that morning, he debated with himself back and forth on what course of action to take, even though a part of his mind tried to warn him not to go there. He knew it was dangerous pursuing something with an omega he was fixated on. Especially one who worked for him. What would happen when the dalliance ended, and it would end, because he was engaged to… Asa. Nickolas couldn’t help but notice how he’d had to search his mind for his supposed fiancé's name. But he wasn’t going to pull at that thread. Nope, he had no plans to do so.
Sex was for release, nothing more, there was no love to be found. With Asa unwilling to meet his needs, and with their agreement that he would have them taken care of elsewhere, he was accustomed to sex with a select number of partners. Both omega, beta, and the odd alpha. But never had he been so fixated before.
Sometimes he wished that his relationship with Asa was a normal one. He wished the omega wasn’t so okay with having an open relationship, and an open marriage. He knew they were not each other's choices, but the part of him that still wanted forever reared its ugly head. He had to shake off those thoughts, and instead he considered calling up his favorite sex partner, a beta, who was as freaky in bed as he was flexible, but in the end, he decided against it. He had self-control. He would use all his will to get the redheaded witch out of his system by sheer determination.
His self-control was put to shame when he made the point to find out where exactly the omega worked in his building. It was almost like he couldn’t help himself. His body and mind were acting of their own accord, whether he liked it or not. Nickolas had even made the point to walk the floor where the omega worked. And had no idea why, neither could he explain to his assistant his reasoning for the detour. He had to fall back on, “I’m the boss, I don’t explain myself,” for his out of character behavior.
His mind tried to tell him it was his alpha trying to enforce his will, but Nickolas didn’t believe in such hogwash. He was the only one in control of his actions. He wasn’t sure if he was happy or pissed that the omega had looked just as good at a second and third glance. He was dressed in a plain black shirt and plain black tight-fitting pants, that showcased the tight bubble butt Nickolas had noted the day before. Somehow black on black served to make the young omega look more delicate, making him more enticing to Nickolas’ alpha senses.
He tried to focus on his work but found his attention straying more frequently than not. He was furious at the omega for being so… so memorable and at himself for being so out of control.
The worst part was he had committed the ultimate sin in his book, one he tried never to do because he knew he wouldn’t like the result. He found himself comparing Asa and Jaimie. And never had his fiancé’s flaws been more glaring. He wasn’t even sure how he knew, but he did, he knew for a fact that Jaimie was everything Asa could never hope to be.
Nickolas found himself grasping at straws. He tried reminding himself that Jaimie was not of his world, and was most certainly not his type. But he couldn’t get the image of that perfect alabaster complexion, and those sparkling green eyes and that made-for-sin pink perfect mouth. He even tried to remind himself that pursuing an employee opened him up to sexual harassment claims. But his mind countered every point with the luscious appeal of what Jaimie’s air of innocence had to offer. Had him wondering if Jaimie’s red hair was any indication of his temperament when it came to passionate endeavors.
He was so lost in thought the knock on his door startled him into saying, “Enter,” without asking who it was.
And, in walked the object of all his thoughts and current fantasies. Jaimie.
