Jai
Every time he walked into the vast impressive hall of Nickolas’ home, Jai was blown away, and he had to remind himself he’d been invited and wasn’t a usurper.
Nickolas linked their fingers and walked him to the kitchen that was twice the size of his whole apartment. Jai hovered at the entrance of the kitchen, suddenly shy, realizing that he had offered to cook for a man who was probably used to the best of everything.
What if he hates it?a voice whispered in his head.
“Every time I look at you, I want to take your clothes off.” Nickolas shared, shedding his tie and jacket, and placing them on one of the chairs at the island. “But for some reason, you in my kitchen is one of the sexiest things ever. Who knew I was such a throwback?” Nickolas finished on a laugh.
“I’m not a professional or anything,” Jai said.
“I have faith in you,” Nickolas replied, still smiling.
“Okay, well here goes nothing,” Jai laughed, as he made his way around the kitchen, looking for everything he might need.
Turning around he looked at Nickolas, “You don’t have to stay with me while I cook, I think I can manage without burning down your house.”
Nickolas chuckled, “What if I just want to watch you moving around my kitchen, cooking for me? Plus I find I like the idea of working while you cook. Feels very… domestic.”
“And domestic is a good thing?” Jai asked.
“Domestic is a very good thing, little one. Trust me.” Nickolas replied.
Jai blushed, why did the alpha manage to make that sound like the sexiest thing that he’d ever done? Nickolas still had the document open on his iPad and continued to work, occasionally looking up to guide Jai around the kitchen, or just to pass on a smile.
Jai got out the pasta, it was one of those kinds you stored in the fridge, so Jai knew it was the fancy kind. He found some fresh tomatoes and everything else he needed for the sauce. He also found fresh baguettes he could use for the garlic bread and got to work.
Even as he was busy cooking, not for a moment was he not aware of his alpha’s presence. For the first time in the almost month they’d been seeing each other, Jai gave his heart permission to imagine this as his future.
As he prepared the meal that was basically muscle memory for him, but this time with fancier ingredients, he imagined doing this for his alpha every day for the rest of his life and realized it would be no hardship.
He glanced up briefly and found Nickolas’ eyes fixed on him, the look in them hard for him to decipher, making him look away quickly in case the alpha could read his thoughts, or his feelings showed on his face.
It didn’t take long before the food was ready to be served, “Would you like to eat here or elsewhere?” Jai asked Nickolas, as he lowered the sauce to a simmer.
“The kitchen is fine. Less formal than the dining room.” Nickolas replied looking up from his iPad.
“Wonderful. Well, it’s ready whenever you are.” Jai said.
“I’m starving so now is wonderful,” Nickolas replied, getting out of his chair and walking towards the wine fridge which Jai had spied earlier and pulled out a bottle of red wine.
“Wine?” Nickolas asked, “it’s a wonderful Australian cabernet-shiraz from 2012 that I’m certain will pair well with your wonderful sauce, which smells delicious by the way.”
Jai wasn’t sure what any of those wine terms meant, but he was sure it was something expensive. Not that it mattered because he did not drink.
“I’m sorry, I’m not much of a drinker, but you can have some though. I don’t mind.” Jai informed his alpha as he served both their plates, and carried them over to the informal dining table in the kitchen.
Nickolas walked over with the bottle of wine in his hand, a corkscrew, and two glasses. He placed a quick kiss on Jai’s lips, and as usual, his body responded to the simple touch and he shivered.
Jai was about to remind him he wasn’t drinking, but Nickolas put the bottle and glass down, then went back to the refrigerator to pull out a bottle of water and juice. Jai couldn’t help but smile at how considerate the alpha was being. When he returned to the table Jai looked up at him, “Thank you.”
Nickolas looked at him quizzically, “What for? You did all the work.”
“I’m just happy,” Jai said, blushing.
Nickolas' breath fanned his cheek as he leaned down for a kiss, letting his tongue delve an erotic path between his lips and making him vent an involuntary moan. He savored Jai’s lips. Nickolas let his tongue tangle with Jai’s briefly before breaking the kiss.
“Later.” Nickolas said, before taking his seat, “We can’t let this lovely meal go to waste now can we?”
Jai blushed and nodded, because he knew he would let the food go to waste in a heartbeat to receive more of those drugging kisses, that would surely lead to more... well, he didn’t really want to go there quite yet.
They ate in companionable silence, Nickolas complimenting the meal, even though Jai didn’t think it was anything special. Jai vowed he would learn more fancy dishes, because it seemed to make his alpha happy that he had cooked for him. They made quick work of the meal and he tidied away the kitchen, not wanting to leave a mess for the chef. Nickolas waited patiently as Jai loaded the dishwasher.
Once he was done with everything and wiped down the counters, he was picked up by his strong alpha and he squealed in surprise and happiness, wrapping his leg around his alpha’s waist and they made their way to the bedroom.
For the first time in the month they’d been seeing each other, Jai slept over at Nickolas’ house. He’d cooked for Nickolas, and while it was only a simple meal, for some reason it had touched the alpha deeply.
The sex that night had been out of this world – not that it wasn’t every time they got together – but Jai had felt so cherished and worshipped, and it had actually brought tears to his eyes which Nickolas had kissed away. If he had known things would go to hell the next day, he would have… well, he wasn’t sure what he would have done differently, because he couldn’t have prepared for the day if he had tried.
