Nickolas

The goddess clearly had it out for him. What other reason would the object of his fantasies have to walk into his office, looking like a sacrificial offering to the gods of hedonism?

Nickolas knew it was his mind creating filthy images because the omega was still covered head to toe. But he had an active imagination and boy, was it filling in the blanks. Or was it erasing? Whatever, he didn’t know. Clearly, all the blood had fled down south, because he had lost his thinking faculties.

“I’ve brought you some refreshment,” Jaimie said. But Nickolas’ mind finishedas said the gazelle to the lion. Because Jaimie might not have been aware of it yet, but he had just entered into the lion’s den. And the lion had no intention of letting him back out without taking a bite or two out of him.

Nickolas let the silence stretch out between them, before saying in a low gravelly – even to his own ears – voice, “Come in, little one.”

He watched as Jaimie made his way further into his office, and decided that the goddess wasn’t punishing him, she was smiling down on him, putting such a perfect creature in his path. And he was nothing if not thankful to the goddess. It would be very disrespectful of him not to worship the gift she had given him. Worship him from head to toe. Because what a gift it was.

Nickolas leaned back in his seat and looked his fill over Jaimie. Appreciation of his beauty flamed through him and released an instant sexual response, his aggressive hunting instincts kicking in. Fate had set up this meeting and who was he to question it. After all, the omega had sought him out of his own free will, they were alone and he knew his assistant would make sure he stayed that way.

“I hope I’m not interrupting,” Jaime said, still standing in the same spot he had been at since he’d walked into the office.

“How could it be an interruption when you’ve been so kind as to bring me some refreshment?” Nickolas said with a rare smile on his face. He stretched out his hand to signify a welcome. “How thoughtful.”

Nickolas wasn’t a vain man but he was aware of his attraction and could use it to his advantage when the mood struck.

The omega returned his smile with a tentative one of his own, “Uh, would you like some water or juice, I have both because I wasn’t sure what you would be in the mood for. If you want I could go get coffee instead, or maybe tea,” Jaime rambled on nervously, making Nickolas smile yet again. He got out of his seat and made his way to where the omega stood, then led him towards the large sofa he had at the right side of the room.

That close to him, Nickolas was able to take in the clean scent of the omega. He took a deep breath, savoring it this time… and realized it was honeysuckle and vanilla. All clean and new, giving the illusion of being untouched by any man. He realized that was how he saw Jaimie. There was a pure air to him. And it was driving his alpha crazy with the urge to mark the unspoiled land as his.

Nickolas took in the beautiful heart-shaped face, so stunning, so beautiful, that even a man like himself, who thought of himself as immune to beauty for beauty's sake, couldn’t stop himself from staring. Even the ill-fitting clothes couldn’t take away from his beauty. Nickolas wondered why Jaimie wasn’t modeling, or something along those lines, with looks like his.

Nickolas was committing those flawless features to his memory. Granted beautiful omegas weren’t unfamiliar to him, but he was trying to work out what it was about this omega that made him so damn appealing to him. It was almost like he was ensnared, unable to look away. There was something different about this omega, an unknown quality that stood out and grabbed his attention.

The pale pink flush of awareness that had swept over his ivory complexion, had sent his alpha hormones haywire. Those amazing green eyes trapped him, and he didn’t want to look away. The lush pout of Jaimie’s mouth had his arousal skyrocketing to the point of discomfort.

He must have been staring silently for too long, because Jaimie was fidgeting with unease, before touching his face and asking, “Do I have something on my face?”

“No... It’s perfect.” Nickolas replied, without thinking. A different man might have tried to backtrack, but why should he? He knew where he wanted this interruption to lead, so why not steer in that direction?

Nickolas watched him, for he blushed so prettily. Those feathery lashes lowered above the pale perfect line of Jaimie’s cheekbones, and he looked incredibly vulnerable. It was obvious that he was nervous. Was there another alpha in his life? Was that why he was hesitating? Nickolas could be patient, he would never push. Especially because the risk of losing the young omega altogether was there.

“Would you like to leave?” Nickolas murmured evenly.

The omega froze, he looked like he could be a statue with how still he was sitting. Nickolas knew sending the omega on his way would be the sensible thing to do. Not only was he an omega, but he was also a subordinate. An employee. He would hate for the omega to feel like he had no option but to stay.

He couldn’t help the sigh of relief when the omega shook his head in denial. But he had to be sure.

“You know you can leave whenever you want?” Nickolas asked.

Jai nodded, “Yes.” In a voice so low Nickolas had to strain to hear him.

“Is there anyone else?” Nickolas breathed, his tension palpable.

“No…” Jai said as he drew in a slow steadying breath.

Nickolas wasn’t sure he should be as happy as he was at the negative answer. It wasn’t like he could say the same. Yet, technically he was. Because his engagement and marriage were more like a business contract than anything. But he wasn’t about to start explaining that now. And he was glad the omega didn’t ask, because he would have hated having to lie to him.

He knew that a purist might consider him still, in the strictest sense, cheating, but he and Asa had set the terms that worked for them, so they could fulfill their duties to their families. And still, live their lives.

“I don’t think that I’ve ever wanted anyone as much as I want you,” Nickolas shared with raw honesty.

“I want to stay…” Jai whispered in a rush and shaken tone. Nickolas had a feeling the omega was as overwhelmed by his attraction to the alpha.

“You won’t regret it,” Nickolas promised.

Unhurriedly, Nickolas angled his dark head down. Testing to see if Jaimie would shy away.Fuck,he was drawn to this omega, arousal slithered through him forcefully and speedily, and he couldn’t take it anymore. He had to taste those inviting, too pink lips. He took Jaimie’s mouth in a kiss filled with urgency and unrestrained passion, and it drove his need for this omega even higher.

He felt the shiver that slid through the omega’s body at the kiss, and it drove his need even more. So fucking responsive. “So fucking hot. I want to possess you, to own you.” He said as he broke their kiss.
