“What did your grandparents have,” Jai whispered. He wasn’t sure why he was whispering, but it almost felt like he would break the spell if he spoke too loud.
“Love,” Nickolas replied, not breaking eye contact with Jai, with a look in his eyes Jai, hadn’t seen before, “They were crazy, madly, stupid in love.”
“Oh,” Jai murmured.
“The same way I am with you,” Nickolas said.
“Oh,” Jai said again, this time too stunned to say more. His heart was racing in his chest like it was trying to jump out of his body, maybe into Nickolas arms.
“Is that all you…” Nickolas began saying, but before he could finish, Jai threw himself into the unsuspecting alpha’s arms, clinging to him like an octopus. “I’ll take that as an, ‘I love you too.’” Nickolas said, laughing, as he supported Jai’s weight by placing his hands under his ass.
“I love you too,” Jai said, as he placed kisses all over his alpha’s face, “so much,” then he added, “I was so miserable, and all I could think and see, was you married to someone else, and it made me sick.”
“I’m so sorry, baby. I swear I’ll make it up to you,” Nickolas said.
“No, you don’t have to. We both made mistakes. I shouldn’t have run away and I should have called you to tell you I was pregnant. I was going to, I swear.” Jai said.
“Shhh,” Nickolas interrupted. “Like you said, we both made mistakes, but I’m so glad that I get to share the rest of your pregnancy with you, baby.”
“I hope it’s better now,” Jai said.
“Even if it isn’t, I’ll be here with you, every step of the way,” Nickolas said.
“I know, alpha. And it’s a clean slate from here on out.” Jai said, looking at Nickolas.
“Clean slate,’ Nickolas repeated while nuzzling Jai’s neck, nipping, biting and soothing the sensitive skin there, making his body respond and a delicious shiver crawled down Jai’s spine.
Before he was lost to a complete haze of lust, Jai added, “But if you ever cheat on me, I’ll have to kill you,” Jai wore a huge smile, making his alpha freeze, and lift his gaze up to meet Jai’s. Jai smiled and kissed his frozen alpha’s lips, which seemed to spur his alpha into motion, as he ran with Jai back the way he came to Nickolas’ room.
