“You take such good care of me,” Jai sighed blissfully.
“And I always will, baby. I know this is not the most romantic way to ask, but I couldn’t think of a better way than when the two of us were joined together, after the most physical expression of our love for each other,” Nickolas said.
Jai twisted around to get a better look at his alpha’s face, “Ask what?” Jai asked holding his breath, excitedly, hopefully, even though he kept telling himself not to jump to any conclusions.
“Ask you to be mine, forever. To be my omega, my husband, my everything.” Nickolas said, his eyes never leaving Jai’s.
Jai could feel the tears coming, and he was nodding even though no sound came out of his mouth.
Nickolas laughed, “I’ll take that as a yes.”
“It’s a yes, it’s always been a yes. My alpha, my love, my husband.” Jai said.
Nickolas let go of him and got out of bed making Jai whine, “Hey, you can’t just propose and ditch. I still want cuddles.”
His alpha laughed, from where he stood, completely nude in all his perfect glory. He bent over picking up his discarded pants, and Jai couldn’t help but catcall, “Hey, hot-stuff,”
“Like what you see?” Nickolas asked, staying bent over longer than absolutely necessary and shaking his ass.
“Always,” Jai replied.
“All yours,” Nickolas said.
“You’re so sappy,” Jai came back, a huge grin on his face, feeling so happy he could burst.
“Only for you baby,” Nickolas said. It was true. His alpha only let this side out for him and Jai never ever took it for granted.
Nickolas walked back to the bed, still naked as the day he was born, scrambling Jai’s brain from all the alpha perfection, that he missed the box in Nickolas’ hand until he was back in bed next to Jai.
“What’s that?” Jai asked reverently, as he took in the ring box.
“Why don’t you open it up and see? How will the world know your mine if I don’t put a ring on it?” Nickolas joked.
“Guess you liked it then,” Jai quipped, making Nickolas snort.
“That was bad. Just very bad.” Nickolas said, still holding the box in his hand.
“You laughed,” Jai retorted.
“I love you that’s why,” Nickolas deadpanned.
“Oh, just hand over my ring,” Jai said reaching for the box, but Nickolas was quicker pulling his hand back.
“Nope, I get to put it on,” Nickolas said.
“What are you waiting for, then,” Jai asked excitedly “Let me see.”
Nickolas opened the box in his hand, and in it was the most beautiful, white gold, or maybe platinum band, surrounded by diamonds.
“Oh my god. It’s beautiful,” Jai said in a voice choked with emotion and those pesky tears that were never far away.
“Nowhere near as beautiful as you,” Nickolas said as he removed the ring and tossed the box aside, before taking Jai’s hands in his and putting the ring on his finger.
Jai laughed and cried as he looked at his ring, “Now who’s sappy?” Jai said.
“I’ll show you corny,” Nickolas said, moving in a taking Jai’s lips in a kiss that definitely didn’t end there.
