Page 93 of Chasing Savannah
“Patrice is missing, and the keys have been replaced on my keychain.” She held them up, jingling them.
He stared into her eyes, his mouth turning up into a small smile. “Come here, babe.” He cajoled, popping the first two buttons of his shirt loose.
She suppressed a shudder of longing as his eyes heated.
“No.” She cleared her throat, mad at her own husky tone.
God, the man got to her. He licked his lips and she mirrored him, wanting very much to close the distance between them. She shook her head.Back on track, Savannah.
“My car?”
His lips lifted, flashing canines as he smiled and damn if her body didn’t betray her, warming and loosening her muscles. He stood and stalked around his desk. He perched on the edge of it, mere feet from her and crooked his finger.
“Come, my Fela.”
She took two steps before her brain caught up. She cursed. “I’m not alpha female yet.”
The small steps she’d taken was enough to put her within arm’s length of him. He grabbed the bottom of her jean jacket and tugged, pulling her between his legs. She let out a shuddering breath as he nuzzled into her neck, sliding her jacket over her shoulders and down her arms.
“Why are people all of a sudden calling me that? What’s changed?”
He hummed in answer and swiped his tongue along her neck in the spot where he’d scratched her last night. Its rough texture dragged a moan from her. He chuckled, the dark sound dampening her panties. He scraped a canine across the front of her neck.
“You’re not answering my questions, Carlos, which means you’re hiding something.”
He pinched her chin and brought her down for a kiss. His tongue swept into her mouth, taking possession of it. Her body softened and went pliant beneath his roaming hands. She clenched her fists, the car keys digging into her palm reminding her of why she’d come into his office. She pulled back from his kiss reluctantly.
“My car?”
He sighed, and licked at her bottom lip. “I bought you a new car.”
She pushed at his shoulders. “You what? When? I’ve only been here three days. When did you have time?”
He tightened his grip on her back, his legs caging her in. “You needed a new car, you said you wanted a bigger one. I bought it the morning after I had to drive it.” His voice was matter of fact, and that just teed her off.
“You didn’t ask me! You don’t replace my shit without asking me.”
His hand gripped her ass, bunching the material of her skirt and a growl left his throat. “What have I told you about your tone when talking to me, my love?”
She tried in vain to push out of his arms. “Don’t give me that alpha bullshit, Carlos. You took my car, and bought another one without any input from me, I have a right to be mad.”
He grabbed her ponytail and tugged her head back, gripping the front of her throat between his teeth. Another warning growl echoed through the room. The speed of his movements had her heart racing, even as her body went pliant in his arms. It was like a switch thrown, his dominant action skyrocketing her body’s arousal. Her nipples tightened, and her channel flexed, suddenly feeling empty. He lapped at his teeth marks. She sighed in pleasure. Her forehead met his, and she closed her eyes.
“We talked about this last night, baby. You’re our mate. It’s a compulsion to take care of you, to see to your needs.”
She sighed, vaguely remembering them having the conversation in between orgasms. “I didn’t need a new car.”
He stroked her back, the heat of his hands burning through the thin tank top she wore, lulling her.
He snorted. “You most definitely did. Now you and the kids can ride comfortably and I won’t have to squeeze into that tiny death machine you loved.”
She growled. “It was mine, you had no right sell it without consulting me.”
“I didn’t sell it, love. It’s in storage, but I should’ve told you, you’re right.”
She reared back in surprise.
He kissed her chin. “I’m sorry, Savannah. I have to remember, you’re no docile woman to wait around and let a man take care of you. You come from a line of alphas. I will try and tame some of my more...dominant tendencies.”
