“Word?” He pretended to lift her. She laughed and locked her arms around his neck. He pecked her lips. “You left us last night.”

She pushed out her lips and looked away. “Staying was not a good idea.”

“And why not?”

“Eventually one of you would’ve bitten me.” She whispered.

He sucked in a breath, his cock flexing. She was right. He wasn’t sure that he could’ve fucked her and kept his panther from claiming her. Not after the amount of power that flowed between the three of them. He looked into her eyes, she lowered them after a moment, unable to hold his gaze. Their full mating would take care of that.

“While I generally know what a Tribond entails, as I’ve seen it before, I just don’t know the details. What would that mean for you, as a third? I always wondered how Grandpa Harper felt, but I can’t imagine asking him.”

He sighed and ran his hand over her braids. “It means that you are mine as well as I am yours.”

“So, like you wouldn’t have any other women.”

He smiled, the dimple in his cheek peeking out. “That’s what you’re worried about?”

She swatted his chest, “yes, I’m possessive and to me, it feels wrong that you both have to share me, when I’d blow a gasket if I had to share either of you with anyone else—”

He cut her off by taking her lips in a kiss that was possessive, aggressive and damn near blew his own head off. He growled and grabbed her waist, lifting and pushing her back down on the leather couch. He settled in between her legs and she raised her hips.

She loved the feel of him on top of her.

“There is nothing about our mating that is wrong,” he said breathing hard as he broke their kiss. He nipped her lip with a hard bite. “You are a part of my soul, kitten. My animal wouldn’t allow another woman anywhere near us. Do you understand?”

She nodded quickly, a little scared, a lot turned on. He lifted her back into his lap.

“Tribonds are extremely rare, but you have more than one in the prowl, you should know how it works.”

“I left the prowl before I was old enough to know about these types of things. Besides, no way could I be this lucky, Derrick,” she said softly.

“Kitten,” he whispered and kissed her tenderly.

“Ok.’’ she said.

“Ok, you’re ready to seal this mating?”

She laughed and wiped a tear from her eye. “No, ok to understanding.”

He kissed her forehead. “Is that why you brought me cake? To butter me up for this conversation.”

“Yes, I thought I’d soften the blow with something sweet. It’s hard showing my jealous side.”

“Be jealous all you want, it makes my animal very secure.”

She smiled at him. “You have some place to be today?”

He nibbled on her neck. “Some prowl stuff a little later in the afternoon, but I’d love to have some time with you.”

She lowered her head and nuzzled into his neck. “Perfect. Now we can get to know each other.”

“You never answered us last night. What’s changed?”

She sighed and moved from his lap. He grabbed her legs and put them across his own, running his hands along her calves.

“I talked to the Seer yesterday.”

“And?”
