Her

A aron Calem.

I’d hardly thought you’d be capable of such destruction. I’d hardly considered you at all. Your entire life you’ve been only a wimpy, good for nothing, whiny, petulant boy. Not bright. Or brave. Or strong.

Yet I find your face written all over the stars. And they’re singing your name in unison. Damn the wretched stars. The stars love a good-boy hero almost as much as they love chaos and death. You’ve won their favor. But unluckily for you, they speak only to me.

Something great has changed.

The Divine’s word revealed your face plastered far and wide over galaxy after galaxy. The future is splitting into thousands because of one boy. Not only for me and my family, but for all the rest of us. If I’d known you’d be this much trouble, I’d have killed you long ago and taken my chances with fate. There were many futures in which your older brothers recovered from the deaths of you and your brother. But none with such great rewards.

But you weren’t capable of such things before. You’ve changed. And the future has changed with it. What have you been up to while you’ve been away?

We shall see.

There were so many futures in which you were mine, and I can see them in your brothers’ eyes. You’re coming and I can’t wait to take everything from you. I’ll enjoy snuffing out that hope with my bare hands.
