Story: The Alpha Enforcer and His Dancing Warrior Vol. 1 (Ribbon #9)
He snapped his fingers, “Oh yes, the Hackura. The ROYAL family even. They would probably declare war. You are no match for the Fairy Army, let alone the Hackura.” The man on the phone shouted, “The toilets are overflowing. I have to go.”
I snorted, “How very short sighted of him not to realize who did that.” Uncle Aiden grumbled, “They should be used to it. One of the two Fairy’s sitting on the Supernatural Council as our representatives is a Water Fairy. She just keeps changing their issues when they are blocked out.”
I replied, “Then they have to realize at this point a Water Fairy is going off on them.” He replied, “If they do, they haven’t said.” I asked, “What’s the other Fairy?” He grinned, “Fire, of course.” I questioned, “How does one not notice that they’ve pissed off a Fire Fairy?”
He winked, “The Fire Fairy is more subtle about it. Nothing at the Supernatural Council building has caught fire. It’s the places they are from or have loved ones.” I snorted, “I see.” He hummed, “What brings you here?” I answered, “Dylan.”
He snorted, “Yes, he was most upset.” I pointed out, “And you let him ‘wind you up’ as he says.” He winked, “Do you want to know who called the Supernatural Council in the middle of my conversation?” I replied, “I’m certain it was my dad.” He winked at me.
I laughed, “We really are his wind-up toys.” Uncle Aiden shrugged, “I don’t really mind it. He alerts me to things faster than Fairies do. My representatives on the Supernatural council will pop in once they’ve caused their chaos.”
I asked, “Do you think the Supernatural Council should have Ashely come do Dylan’s workshop?
” He said back, “Yes, because according to Dylan he thought she wanted to but felt she couldn’t.
Her Alpha isn’t providing her with the resources for a booming business for his pack.
Ashley doesn’t charge people, but Alpha Edward Davis does. ”
I gasped, “He can’t do that.” Uncle Aiden replied, “Your dad, me, and Dylan believe that Ashley somehow pays because those packs don’t. It didn’t come out of their finances.” I snorted, “If I was Ashley, I’d find a way to siphon it out of Alpha Edward’s accounts.”
He grinned at me, “That’s brilliant.” I shrugged, “I’m petty.
” He snorted, “Yes, but she watches all your videos. It’s possible she’s trying to emulate you.
Plus, that is amusing and I like it better than some poor teenager paying to make people better.
People your dad believes are being held back. ”
I reasoned, “Then you believe that too.” He agreed, “I do because he does, but they are not my people. I make sure no Fairy of any blood ends up with the packs whom your dad doesn’t like or approve of. That is all I can do from my end. It annoys your dad he cannot do more.” That pissed me off.
I hugged my uncle and popped to Aiylee. She greeted, “Cousin.” I hummed, “People are annoying our parents. Do things with our cousins about that. Fig is always willing to set things on fire.” She laughed, “Who has upset them?”
I answered, “The Supernatural Council.” She sighed, “If they manage to live until I’m Queen, the first time they upset me I’ll go all Queen of Hearts in Alice and Wonderland on them.” I laughed, “Are you going to yell ‘Off with their heads!’ Or something like that?”
She winked, “That actually. I will do just that. I’ll deploy our cousins and my siblings. I have them thinking of charms for my reign. This would be a great time to test them out.” I agreed, “It definitely would. As an enforcer, I say test runs are vital and necessary.” She grinned at me.
Exsis popped in and groaned, “When he comes to you it ALWAYS means psychological warfare is about to be waged.” Aiylee snorted, “He is a man of action. It could literally be war.” Exsis replied, “Then he would’ve had you pop to me so we could both do it.”
I shrugged, “You could get in on it for all I care. I just want them to feel the pain of upsetting our parents. We are the promised family. Our parents are the promised siblings and enough has been taken from them. I’m sick of people upsetting them when Uncle Arion isn’t here to be the balance.
I can’t step up completely like he could, but I CAN make people’s lives difficult. ”
Aiylee clapped, “YES! That’s the spirit. I like it. I’m here for the Fairy side of your enforcer blood coming out. This is SUCH a good moment. Keep feeling those feelings. Even if we don’t kill people, we can make them suffer.”
I laughed, “The Hackura side of me likes drawing out torture, physical or mental, when there is no immediate threat.” Which was part of the problem and reason we needed Uncle Arion.
I didn’t think he would care too much about how long people suffer.
He sounded more like a ‘see a problem, solve a problem’ kind of guy.
I admitted, “Maybe we need to let Jarrod and Fig do what they want more often.” Both of them stared at me.
Exsis said, “They are extreme in their reactions.” I postulated my question, “If Uncle Arion were alive, would we say that about him? Sure. Would we let him do it? Yes. They are his sons. Maybe they can help us with the balance Uncle Arion was to provide.”
Aiylee hummed, “I could tell them that’s the case for this realm.
” I nodded, “It’s a little less than nothing.
” She agreed, “It is, but I do think that would make them happy. It would also signal the strength of our family. Our people would love to see Uncle Arion’s children acting just like he would’ve. ”
Exsis agreed, “They would. It would deeply amuse the Fire and Water Fairies especially.” He paused then added, “Actually even the Sky and Earth would.” I understood why he paused. Since Fenilton had died the Fire and Water Fae were opposed to the Sky and Earth Fairies and their ideals.
I couldn’t say I blamed them, especially after what the Sky and Earth Fairies did to my mother. I would’ve distanced myself from them too. Oden snorted, “Distance is an interesting word for kill.” I snorted, “I would’ve distanced myself and made a plan to kill them.” He conceded, “Fair enough.”
I hugged Aiylee then Exsis. He said, “It’s always good to see you leaning Fairy.
Your cousins love it, Aiylee especially.
” I laughed, “It is quite fun.” Aiylee nudged me, “Remember that because I’ll use you for your mind and the strategies that live in it when I am Queen.
” I laughed, “It’s not using me if I agree, cousin. ” I winked at her then popped out.
Uncle Gunner greeted, “Alexander.” I asked, “Can you find out if Alpha Edward is somehow paying himself for the workshops Ashley puts on?” He laughed, “I don’t have to find out. I already know the answer. He does.”
I snorted, “How did you already know? Did dad have you look?” He answered, “No, he doesn’t know that’s happening to my knowledge. He probably suspects.” I raised an eyebrow, “You didn’t tell him?” He shook his head. I hummed, “Interesting.” I hugged him and popped to my dad.
He was yelling, “I’ll find a way to bring all Werewolves back to my purview.” The person sighed, “Former Alpha Eric, you can’t do that.” He warned, “I will find a way and WHEN I do, you will ALL regret not working with me.”
He practically vowed, “I will uncover every shady thing you have done with those packs and then you will not be able to escape the ramifications of those choices.” He slammed the phone down.
He picked it up and slammed it down several times.
Caleb winced, probably ready to jump in to save the phone.
I cleared my throat. Oden snorted, “He knew we were here.” I offered, “Alpha Edward pays for the workshops Ashley puts on for other packs.” Caleb eye’s jolted to me.
He asked, “You have proof?” I answered, “Uncle Gunner does. I asked him because I was going to reach out to Ashley or the packs themselves and offer to cover the costs. What she’s doing is good and she appears to have an in we don’t. ”
Phil came in shouted, “AH HA! I knew those packs couldn’t afford the price he slapped on them. It’s probably why they are afraid to agree to having a workshop with us now. They know Ashley is fixing the bill, but they think we wouldn’t.”
I asked, “Were you lurking outside?” Gage called, “Yes and no. Also, I’m sending an email to those packs that declined our workshops to let them know that there is LITERALLY no charge.” Dad ordered, “Caleb, put my seal on those emails so they really know it won’t happen.”
He ran a hand through his hair. He hummed, “Well, then I’ll guess Micah helped Ashley set that up. Otherwise, Gunner probably would’ve had to look.” I asked, “Why wouldn’t they just tell us they did that?” Oden grumbled, “You know the answer.” I did.
Dad gave me a look. I grumbled, “Fine. I know it’s because she’s their source who clearly asked for us to be locked out.
” He sighed, “Which makes no sense. I swear there’s something just on the edge of all this that I’m missing.
Some days it feels obvious and like it’s right there, but I can’t grasp it. ”
I assured him, “If anyone could figure it out, it’s you.” He laughed, “Your mom has theories, but they lean more towards conspiracy.” I asked, “What’s her theory?” He replied, “It involves a prank.” The bond felt like he’d answered me quite cautiously.
I chuckled, “Surely mom knows no one in Nashville is pulling pranks.” He hummed. So, there was more to it. I asked, “Are you going to tell Dylan you called the Supernatural Council?” He snorted, “I’m sure he already knows Aiden and I called.”
Phil groaned, “And now we have a memo, a chastising email, and text about how we need to use our Beta Chat. Awesome.” His phone rang.
He answered, “Hey, T.” Then walked away.
Gage grinned, “I am not in trouble because we use our Gamma Chat since Alpha’s and Beta’s keep us out of so much. We are in the know.” I rolled my eyes.
