Story: The Alpha Enforcer and His Dancing Warrior Vol. 1 (Ribbon #9)
I snorted, “No driving to Nashville for baked goods.” Kaia admitted, “I would risk the ire of my dad to get them. I would even hire someone to bring them to the boundary line. Beta Phil has his Warrior friend down there. I wonder if they know about the muffins.” They walked off and I found myself curious about it.
Oden teased, “You’re being such a Beta blood right now.
” I snorted, “Shut it, Oden.” He chuckled in my head.
I popped to Phil. He said, “I can sense you have something to ask me.” Gage grumbled, “Do ignore my presence. No, no, don’t say hi.
A Gamma is used to it.” I rolled my eyes, “I didn’t even say hi to Phil yet. So, hi Gage.”
He grinned at me, “It’s nice to be noticed.” Oden snorted, “We would obviously notice him and Gun.” His wolf’s name was Gun, but Gage joked it was Top Gun all the time. I asked, “Phil, has your Nashville Warrior friend…”
He interrupted “You know his name is Walker.” I huffed, “Does Walker ever mention the best muffins being made down in Nashville?” He snorted, “Uh no. Why?” I answered, “Because two pack members enjoying their road trip had to stop in Nashville and now Nana Blanch is making muffins.”
Gage jumped in, “What? That doesn’t make sense. What do those two things have to do with each other?” I explained, “Because said pack members said they said they had the best muffins they’ve ever had.” Both groaned.
Gage hit his head on the desk. Phil asked, “Why? Dear Moon Goddess, WHY?!” I shrugged, “We get Nana Blanch muffins I see no problems here for us. Leo will probably see a problem. I’ll go talk to him.
” Phil asked, “And do I need to warn Toby about Nashville Alpha’s calling?
Or put road tripping girls on bad patrols? ”
I snorted, “They are seventeen and they learned their lesson. Sure they got some amazing muffins, but they are very worried about their parents finding out they didn’t listen to the lecture about watching the gas tank light.” Phil threw his head back and laughed.
Gage hummed, “Good call. They will probably be worried about a visit from me or Phil. Anticipation is always a good deterrent.” I nodded, “If it happens again, then we can dole out some extra patrols. I think they learned the lesson though.” Oden agreed, “They did. Their wolves were promising me they’d look out better next time. ”
I popped to Leo and found him in the gym on the weights.
I walked over and said, “So, the cooking minions in your mate’s mind have been set loose.
” He dropped the weights. He asked, “What? Why? Who did it? Did someone have a recipe better than hers? Goddess above tell me she’s not trying to figure out a recipe. ”
I snorted, “Some pack members mentioned they’d had the very best muffin they’d ever eaten.
I believe the only detail given was a fudge center.
” He grabbed his head then glared at me.
I asked, “What?” He grumbled, “You left out the detail that A DRUNK GIRL made the best muffins they’ve ever tasted!
!” I nodded, “That is what they said.” He snorted, “That was VITAL information before I linked my mate about it.” Oops.
He grumbled, “I’ll see you folks later. Haley and my mate are now drinking and making muffins.
” I snorted, “My mom has never made a muffin in her life.” He shrugged, “She’s stirring a batch my mate mixed up.
She ranted about the story to YOUR MOTHER who suggested they try their hand AT DRUNK BAKING! ” Several people snickered.
I reasoned, “To be fair, that was part of the story.” He grumbled, “I don’t give a shit about being fair. She could burn her hand or have a kitchen related accident. Now, I’m going to monitor the situation so they don’t hurt themselves.” I shrugged.
Oden warned, “We should probably tell dad.” He had a point. Oden muttered, “I always have a point.” I popped to my dad, who was with Dylan Frost. The latter instantly perked up. He practically begged, “Mini Moody, please give me fun news. You so rarely do, and my day needs a pick me up.”
I glanced at my dad then questioned, “Dare I ask why? Because what I have to say will absolutely make Dylan’s whole day.” Dylan squealed, “YAY! I always knew you had that interesting DNA your mom supplied deep down inside you.”
I snorted, “Of course you did.” Dad told me, “Ashley declined his invitation to do one of her work shops in Blue Moon.” Dylan pouted, “It was such a long rambling decline too. She was so worried I’d be offended I have to wonder why she didn’t just say yes.
She clearly wanted to and talked herself out of it. It was a fascinating email.”
I snorted, “Well, I’ll turn that frown upside down.
Mom and Nana Blanch and drunk baking because some pack members mentioned they had the best muffin they’d ever had and it was made by a drunk girl.
” He squealed, “I love you so Mini Moody. I don’t care what they say about your moods. You’re the best.”
I snorted, “You’re the only person who talks about my moods.” He cooed, “Awww, you’re so cute when you’re wrong. I talk about them with love. Some people are quite upset about them. Especially when you make them run.”
He whispered, “Then others complain because other Lead Warriors in other packs talk about how much this pack runs. Which means they then have to run more. They, rightfully, blame you.” I rolled my eyes, and he took off.
He shouted over his shoulder, “Don’t worry SGAP! I will make sure our precious fun sized Fairy ninja goddess does not get hurt drunk baking.” My dad snorted, “Leo is already with them.” Dylan replied, “I shall send him away post haste.”
I told my dad, “I don’t think Leo will leave.
” Dad agreed, “He won’t. So now, there will be Blade, Javi, Dylan, and Leo to make sure that nothing happens during this drunk baking session.
” I admitted, “I came to warn you about it.” He laughed, “I appreciate that, but Blade linked me.” Damn it, Blade!
He winked at me, “Next time, just link me.” I admitted, “I had to go tell Leo anyway.” Dad hummed, “Yes, Blade finds him amusing. Leo told him the baking will last all day because Mrs. Blanch will be determined to make it right and find the right level of drunk to bake the perfect muffin.”
I reasoned, “The pack members could just lie to her. Most possess the ability and the two that said it are full blooded Werewolves.” Dad rolled his eyes, “Yes, well your Nana Blanch would spot that. Especially if it was about her food.”
I admitted, “I’m not sure she’s going to able to recreate the recipe. She doesn’t have a sample.” He waved, “We can get her one.” I snorted, “No, we can’t. The pack members nearly ran out of gas in Nashville.”
He groaned, “Why?” I snorted, “They were teenagers on their first road trip without parents. It was a teaching lesson. Anyway, the muffins in question were stolen from a drunk girl that the bakery then sold.” He inhaled deeply before he sighed.
I laughed, “Have fun with that, dad.” He snorted, “I’m sure I’ll have a sexy baker in here later.” Probably. I left as Caleb walked in. I winked, “He’s already aware of the drunk baking.” He snorted, “Yeah, Leo linked me when he left the gym.”
He smacked the back of my head saying, “Something you have the ability to do.” I replied, “Leo told me about the drunk baking. I only knew Nana Blanch would be making muffins. I had no idea mom was involved until he told me.”
Oden chuckled, “Bork is grumbling that we could’ve told him that part at least.” Bork was Caleb’s wolf. I shrugged, “I told Phil.” He grumbled, “I swear to god we have got to get the newer generation more into Dylan’s Beta chat.”
I reasoned, “I’m sure if you pointed that out to Dylan, who is in the kitchen, he would be thrilled.” He snorted, “I’ll be texting the Beta Chat that. He’ll be off to the races.” I laughed, “Which he will be happy about because he had a bad start to his morning.”
Oden grumbled, “If Ashley won’t come to Blue Moon, then she won’t come to our pack.” That was true. They were smaller than us. I went to the kitchen and caught Dylan’s eye. He linked, “I did join the pack so you can link me. You silly young whipper snapper.”
I snorted, “Why did Ashley decline your workshop?” He answered, “I mean in the rambling string of thoughts, she said it’s because we don’t need it. She doesn’t get the pack resources that she should, and they are helping much lower caliber fighters than us.”
That was solid logic. He grumbled, “Don’t make that ‘it makes sense’ face. I hate that face. Your dad made it too. He was supposed to tell her she had to come.” I replied, “Their pack doesn’t follow Werewolf Council decree. They are under the Supernatural Council.”
He huffed, “Yes, and THOSE FUDDY DUDDIES said I had NO BASIS to order Ashley to give me a workshop.” I blinked asking, “You went to the Supernatural Council?” Oden told me, “Fang said they did and he’s wound up about it.”
Dylan huffed, “The Fairies on the council found my request more than FAIR. Then they were blocked out, like always. My windup toys must be upset about this.” I knew my dad and Uncle Aiden would be. Which Dylan also knew.
I popped to my Uncle Aiden. He was red faced pissed on the phone. He shouted, “When Herman rises you tell him that if he continues to disrespect the Fairies this way, we will pull out of the Supernatural Council.” He should just do that.
He continued, “You don’t let my people in on things. They know you are keeping secrets and at this point, I’ll make sure they find them.” Oden chuckled, “People never understand our uncle.” No, they didn’t, but then again he didn’t want them to.
The man on the other side of the phone gasped, “You cannot just…” He cut them off, “You would do well to remember I can just. Easily. I can easily bring two Kingdoms down on your head. Remember if I stand against you, my sister does. If my sister does, who else does?” He tapped his chin as if they could see him.
