Story: The Alpha Enforcer and His Dancing Warrior Vol. 1 (Ribbon #9)
He nudged me saying, “They just might answer some of the things you asked about.” I snorted, “Probably not.” He didn’t agree. We sat there overlooking the Kingdom in silence for about an hour.
Kade portaled to us. He announced, “We are needed in Uncle Bjourn’s office.” I admitted, “I was going to shift and run.” Hastein offered, “I’ll go. If you’re needed, we can pull you.” I nodded to him and shifted into Oden. He could have control while I had time to think.
He took over and ran for thirty minutes before my dad and Hastein pulled me. I shifted back, snapped myself clothes, and popped to Uncle Bjourn’s office. I asked, “Where did mom go?” Dad answered, “She’s with your Uncle Benjamin questioning people with Blade and Javi faded back.”
I asked, “Questioning people about what?” The showed me a black and white box. Oden purred, “It’s the color of me.” Well, that was true but so were Oreos. He snorted at me, The Oreo BOX is not black and white just the Oreo themselves.” True.
I lifted the lid and tilted my head. Hastein chimed in, “I told you they might answer some of your questions.” I lifted up a mini jar with small needle like devices attached to some type of adhesive. The one I had was labeled Goblins. I glanced over at Hastein and he nodded.
Uncle Bjourn said, “The Frost Giant’s body basically turned to Lava on the inside.
Marcus is currently studying it.” My eyes widened.
Oden said, “That’s smart.” I said, “They used their cold temperature against them by burning them alive from the inside out.” It wasn’t a question, it was what they did.
Grandpa Titus joined us and looked at them. I asked, “Where did the box come from?” Dad answered, “It was placed over our border with a card on it for your mother.” I snorted, “She’s going to use that and say they are hers.”
Uncle Bjourn agreed, “She will and I think the Resistance knows that.” I glanced at all the doses in the box.
Uncle Marcus portaled in with Aunt Katie and Uncle Logan.
She announced, “There’s a spell, a very powerful one, on those.
The humans obviously would not see someone insides turned to Lava. They see a heart attack.”
Uncle Evin came in reporting, “There was one body that hadn’t been there long enough to be claimed yet. Gunner’s fabrication I was family let me pull the Warlock’s body here.” Dad groaned, “Of course it’s a Warlock.” Mom would go off about that.
Uncle Evin replied, “The other bodies were claimed by research facilities after so long.” I asked, “Will the spell hold?” Uncle Evin chuckled, “I’m not done. It’s a Supernatural facility but they never got the bodies. Nor did they know they existed.”
Pride filled me for some strange reason. The Resistance really had a way of getting around red tape. He added, “I did get everyone’s personal affects.” He tossed them down and we searched through them. Their phones were missing, which told me the Resistance took them.
I admitted, “I think it’s weird the Resistance left the pictures of Maverick.” Aunt Katie said, “Because there is a spell on that picture. It alters someone’s face so humans wouldn’t see Maverick.” I pulled Brenton to me. He came through in a second.
I handed him the pictures, “Go ask Caius’s mom what she sees in those pictures.” He nodded and left.
When he returned, he said, “She sees four different people. One young guy, one older, and two middle-aged men.”
I asked, “Seriously, how powerful are these guys? We already knew the Witch working with them was. Can we tell if it’s a coven or one person?” Aunt Katie said, “Me, Dustin, Ryan, and Charlie Rose all believe it’s the same person. The magic feels the same.”
I asked, “Who is this strong?” She shrugged, “I don’t know but we all want to meet them.” I snorted, “We want to meet a lot of people we can’t meet. This is such a strange feeling. Normally, I’m annoyed about people wanting to meet me. Now, I’m irritated people don’t want to me meet me.”
Oden whined in my head because it was us. Maybe without us as a factor, they would meet someone. Dad replied, “No, Alexander. Without you, they wouldn’t even talk to us. Hastein told us about your call. We have this box because of you.” Oden told me, “That’s true.”
Phil portaled in. He looked around saying, “This looks fun. I clearly need to get caught up, which the bond told me. How Beta’s survive without a bond with their Alpha like I have with my cousin, I just don’t know. It makes NO sense to me.”
I asked, “What’s going on?” He hummed, “I kind of don’t want to tell you but I’m going to.
” I snorted, “So, you have more good news?” Dad offered, “Everything we’ve learned today is good news.
” I muttered, “It’s super great that my voicemails are being listened to, and they will answer my questions if they want. Yet they will not call me back.”
Phil winced, “Oh good. This will cheer you right up then. Female Lead Warrior Ashley Griffen is putting on workshops for smaller packs and their Warriors.” Hope filled me. I reasoned, “That’s great! We can see if she’d come…” He made a face and I trailed off.
I surmised, “You already asked her about it.” He said, “My source in Nashville said it’s only a few packs but I looked up the criteria.
Neither us nor our allies meet them, we are too big.
Also, our defenses are too good.” Oden muttered annoyed in my head, “Why is everything good always a deterrent with this group that doesn’t want to meet us? ”
I actually saw a bright side here. I waved, “This is good. She’s just starting out. When you start something like workshops they grow naturally. She can get this going and then we can offer to host or something. Or do a joint workshop. That can actually work for us.”
He admitted, “Ok, you took that better than thought. What’s going on here?
” We caught him up and he whistled. He nudged me, “You have squadron practice.” I portaled out ready to run.
Phil came with me. I asked, “What are you doing?” He said, “Someone has to get film for your social media. You do the workouts and instructional videos. I do all the other posts with footage I get.”
I told him, “We are working on cardio today.” He clapped, “Great! You don’t have a program for cardio out yet. So, we can get the footage, and you can put out the plan. I’ll promote with the footage, and we will get more money while helping people. Everyone wins.”
I went over to my squadron. I told them, “Don’t mind Phil filming.” He shouted, “They literally never do.” One of my men smirked. I asked, “What was that smirk for, Kolton?” He said, “Well, the whole realm watches your workout videos. We have been in some of them and the result is awesome.”
They all nodded. I snorted, “So you guys are swimming in pussy and dick from the workout videos.” Kolton winked, “So much.” I shook my head but smiled. I ordered, “Let’s run.” I put them through their paces. I had an obstacle course out too, but we kept moving the whole time.
Phil came over, “I got great stuff.” Nadia shouted, “Please post the thirst traps you have from all the sweating.” I asked, “The what?” Phil waved, “Nothing for you to worry about. I post what I post, and I get a lot of engagement. Leave it me.” I looked at all of them but shrugged.
I walked away but heard Nadia talking to Phil. She said, “The one where you see Alexander with the guys in the background jump roping would be good with a music background. Then you could have another one with the women of the group doing…” I popped back and she stopped talking.
I said, “Phil, we should hire her.” He asked, “Huh?” I said, “She can help you free up some time. She can edit the posts together and you can approve them. That way you’re not going through hours of film.” He gaped at me. I asked, “What?”
He smacked my arm, “I told you we needed to hire someone, and you said we were doing fine.” I shrugged, “I didn’t realize how much time you were spending on it.
Hire Nadia to manage…” I trailed off. Phil snorted, “You don’t even know what to call it.
” I winked, “But you do.” He prodded, “And if Nadia has a job?” I said, “I know what her job is. Steal her away with a good offer.”
I turned to her, “You don’t have to take the job if the offer isn’t competitive.
There’s no retaliation here and Phil can find other candidates.
” She admitted, “I’m kind of pigeon holed at my job now.
It’s not a challenge anymore. This could be fun.
” Phil threw her arm around her, “Let’s talk details. ” They left.
I walked into Cayden’s office. He glanced up, “I hear you’ve had a morning.
” I asked, “What the fuck is a thirst trap?” Now, I had his full attention.
He dropped his pen and sat back in his chair.
He admitted, “I don’t know, but I asked your sister and she’s laughing hysterically. ” I nodded and popped to her.
She was sitting with Aiylee and Beagan cackling.
I asked, “What’s so funny?” Beagan managed to answer first, “Cayden didn’t know what a thirst trap was.
” Cassie’s eyes jolted to mine. She screamed, “Oh my god he asked for you! You felt annoyed in the bond and like you didn’t want to tell us! IT WAS YOU!”
I reasoned, “Cayden doesn’t know either.
” Aiylee popped over to me and showed me a clip on her phone.
I said, “Phil had me do that push up deal for a video.” Beagan said, “It’s a challenge.
” I asked, “What challenge? It was quite easy.” Aiylee explained, “It’s the Sea Shanty push-up challenge. Your video went viral.”
I asked, “Huh?” Cassie groaned, “No, stop it right now.” Beagan cackled, “Your belt flick when lifting is really popular too.” I asked, “What the fuck are you talking about?” Aiylee snickered and showed me a video flicking my weight belt off after I dead lift.
Then there was a woman staring at the screen and licking her lips.
