Page 75 of Sins and Virtue
My shoulders collapsed inward as I sighed.
“How… embarrassing,” the murmur barely passed my lips.
A defeated sensation dwelled deep inside my stomach. This couldn’t be happening. Not now. Not that I was obliged to my vows. Both religious and to Ollie and Marcello.
“Everything alright, kotyonok?” Konstantin’s darkly heated voice rippled in the room.
I snapped my head up, realizing he was watching me. My sight wandered to the other end of the room as my eyes grew wider by the scandal.
“What are you… wearing?” I squinted, observing trails of water skimming down his naked chest down to his Adonis belt as he stood basically naked. The small towel he held barely covered his dick, showing off his muscular ass.
“A towel.”
As if that isn’t obvious.
“I know that’s a towel. I’m asking, why are you wearing it in the middle of the night?”
“I took a shower.”
I lifted a brow. “In the middle of the night. Why?”
“Why are you asking so many questions? Go back to sleep.”
“I can’t. I had a dream— I mean, a nightmare.”
“Was I in it?”
“Haha, don’t flatter yourself. Well, actually, since you’re here now, I would call that a nightmare.”
“Don’t tell me… You’re developing feelings for me, kotyonok?” He leaned against the drawer, a prideful smirk playing on his round lips.
My heart stammered.
A bit more quickly than I’d admit.
I snarled; disgust mixed with something else turned my stomach. “As if.”
“Then why were you whispering my name in your sleep?”
“I. Was. What?” My words came out bit by bit.
“You heard me the first time, sweetheart.”
“I’m not your sweetheart, and stop being delusional.”
He narrowed his grey-stoned eyes at me. “You’re the delusional one. Trying to convince yourself you're not in love with me. I mean, I get it. Who wouldn’t, kotyonok? I’m flattered, honestly. And well, you know, any time you’re down—”
I raised my hand, cutting him off. “Look, Narcissus, slow down. No one wants anything with you, cretin.”
“Denial.”
“Am not.”
“Are too.”
“Am not.”
“Are too.”
