Page 93 of HER SISTER

"I can't believe you're missing out on game night."

My lips tilted up into an amused smile as I glanced over to Mya through the mirror that I stood in front of.

She was practically a helicopter mom—standing by the bathroom door frame with her arms crossed and a look of disapproval.

"I told you that we'd try to make it back to play one game with you guys," I reminded my best friend.

Mya scoffed, clearly not believing a single word coming from my mouth, "Unless you guys sneak a quickie in at the restaurant—you aren't making it back by the end of the night, much less the morning," she retorted.

Just like that—

My glossed lips parted as a laugh escaped my lips.

And as Mya reciprocated my laugh, I seemed to have nothing in rebuttal.

Because she had made a good point, and I didn't want to confirm that we'd make it, only to prove her theory right.

Besides, the quickie in the bathroom is hitting just a little too close to home.

"Don't fucking tell me..." Mya suddenly trailed off as her laughter faded, clearly piecing together that me and her sister had indeed snuck in a quickie in a bathroom.

Of many.

When I only seemed to remain silent, my best friend's mouth fell open.

It wasn't just shock etched on her features, but amusement too.

Mya blinked a few times, "I-I... I have no words right now."

Her words alone only earned another laugh from me as I shook my head.

Even if my face was burning red, I couldn't help but find this all painfully hilarious.

"Mya's speechless for once? What did I miss?"

Just like that, a smile—

No, a grin was growing on my face.

She looked absolutely perfect as she stood by my best friend at the bathroom doorway.

Her dark hair was slicked back into a low bun while she wore her usual graphic tee and baggy jeans.

She had on minimal makeup, but it was hard to miss her long lashes covered in mascara or the way her dark brows were perfectly outlined.

Even the sight of her after barely even a few hours seemed to breathe life into me.

"You've ripped the innocence from my best friend—that's what," Mya said, but it was obvious in her tone that she was joking.

A beautiful laugh fell from my girlfriend's lips, "Wow, ripped is an interesting word—" her dark eyes suddenly glanced to me, "Last I recall, she was the one on my lap wanting—"

"Milan," I cut her off with a narrowed look.

My girlfriend only chuckled, clearly amused as she walked over towards me, "What? Nobody really knows who you are," she pointed out.

Mya blinked blankly, "Who you turned her into," she emphasized as Mili subtly slid her arms around my waist.

Warmth bubbled all around me as I leaned into my girlfriend's touch—feeling completely deprived after only being away from her for less than a day.

"I only brought it out of her," Mili corrected her sister.

I raised a skeptical brow, "What is it?" I clarified to my girlfriend.

Mya laughed slightly, "Yeah, Mi—tell us what it is," she said, clearly knowing what her sister wanted to say.

Mili only grew unamused, "I'm not calling you out your name like that in front of my sister," she determined as she leaned down to press a soft kiss to my lips, "Or anyone," she clarified mostly to me.

Mya only shook her head, "You guys are so honeymoon stage without the stage part," she groaned, easily taking her leave away from us.

Her words alone managed to earn a laugh from me and Mili as our lips connected yet again.

And I couldn't help but slide my wandering hands up the sides of her body before dipping them underneath her shirt.

"My beautiful girl," I hummed against her soft lips.

Mili smiled slightly against my lips, "I missed you so much—I can finally breathe again," she murmured as she slid her hand up and down my spine which was partially bare from my backless soft pink blouse.

"Hmm does that mean you can't live without me?" I teased her, suddenly opening my eyes to meet her stare.

Mili's smile grew, "That's exactly what it means."

And just like that, her lips were back on mine—and I couldn't miss the way she subtly tugged my short black skirt down.

"If someone looks at you a certain way, that might just be it," my girlfriend murmured against my lips—clearly not feeling the skirt I decided to wear.

I laughed slightly as we pulled away, suddenly hearing the front door to Mya and I's apartment opening before voices echoed.

"I'd hate to see the other guy," I joked with her as we began making our way out of my bathroom.

My girlfriend laughed dryly, "You're joking but I'm serious," she reminded me, and the possessive edge to her tone managed to trigger a different side to me.

The side that wanted to get on my knees for her.

Luckily, we had already made it out to the living area where Damon and Arielle were before I even got the chance to think it through.

"Hey guys," Damon greeted us as we walked over to the kitchen.

Arielle smiled as she looked between us, "Mya will get over the whole missing game night thing so long as you take our girl Ana somewhere special," she joked with us.

And just like that, Mya was giving us all the finger—which managed to earn a laugh from us all.

Meanwhile, Mili only raised a brow, "You mean my girl?" she clarified, but it was clear by her light tone that she wasn't actually bothered.

Arielle laughed, "Trust that she's all yours—I really don't want the smoke," she joked back with my girlfriend as Ryder suddenly emerged into the apartment.

"Aye what's good Mili," he called out as he handed some of the grocery bags in his hands to Damon.

My girlfriend suddenly walked over to him, "Nate," she said as she dapped him up.

Arielle tilted her head, "Nate?"

Damon narrowed his eyes, "You're talking about the name—meanwhile, I'm wondering why he hasn't addressed me," he pointed out.

Mya suddenly ducked around Arielle, "Or me," she said.

A smile suddenly grew on Ryder's lips, "You were off in the corner," he pointed out as he pulled her into a hug.

"Nate?" Arielle questioned again, clearly hoping for an explanation.

And I couldn't help but laugh, "It's his first name—apparently we're calling him Nate instead of Ryder now," I explained.

Damon scoffed, "Wow dude, you didn't tell me that," he said as Ryder and Mya pulled apart.

Ryder shrugged, "It didn't seem relevant," he brushed it off.

My girlfriend settled back by my side, "But I'm calling him Nate now," she explained as she slid her arm around my waist.

Mya placed another kiss on Ryder's lips, "And I'm calling him—"

"Trust that we don't want to know what you're calling him," Damon cut her short before she could even finish her statement.

Ryder laughed slightly, "How about you guys settle names without me—I'm going to go grab the rest of the groceries and board games," he determined, which easily earned a small huff from Mya who clearly wanted much more than just a few kisses.

"I can help?" Mili suddenly offered.

Ryder shrugged, "It is a lot of stuff," he said, clearly not turning down her offer.

My girlfriend suddenly glanced to me, "We can leave after?" she said, and I couldn't help but smile at the way she turned it into a question.

It was like she was a child asking for permission to go somewhere.

"Of course," I murmured, easily leaning forward to place a fleeting kiss to her lips.

Mili hummed as she pulled away—briefly setting her things down on the counter as she walked toward the door.

As the two people who seemed to have grown into close friends exited the apartment, I was making my way over to the kitchen island by all my friends.

"No fucking way," Mya suddenly groaned as she looked down at her phone.

Arielle's brows furrowed as I looked over to Mya, "What is it?" I asked her.

"Marco is studying for bio and Willow has a mock trial in the morning to prepare for," Mya sighed out, clearly torn up about the change of plans.

Damon shook his head, "Let me text Frankie's flaking ass real quick," he determined as Arielle started trying to soothe Mya.

"Why don't we just move tonight's game night to tomorrow night? Or maybe the one after?" Arielle suggested, and I couldn't help but nod at the idea.

But it seemed to only upset Mya, "But Ryder already brought the board games—and we have so many snacks," she pointed out.

I nodded, "So now it can all be set up for tomorrow night," I reminded her.

Arielle hummed, "Plus everyone will be present and accounted for," she added.

Damon looked up from his phone, "Yeah because it seems like Frankie isn't going to make it," he said to Mya who let out another sigh.

And I couldn't help but feel sad for her, knowing that she loved doing our little get-togethers.

She was basically the glue to our group.

"Hey, someone named Lana just texted you Ana," Damon suddenly said.

My brows automatically furrowed—mostly because why would she be texting me?

And how did this bitch get my number?

But both of my questions managed to be answered when I realized it was Mili's phone and not mine.

And just like that, I had thousands of more questions replacing the previous two.

Why was Lana texting my girlfriend?

More importantly, was my girlfriend texting her back?

If so, what are they talking about?

Why are they even talking in the first place?

I drew in a deep sharp breath, clearly feeling myself spiral.

And I could tell by the look on Mya's face that she had pieced together that it wasn't my phone, and Mili's instead.

That Lana and Mili might just be texting each other.

"Okay, what the fuck did I miss?" Arielle suddenly spoke through the obvious silence.

I hummed sharply, "Something I would like to know too," I said, clearly realizing I had missed something as well.
