My brows furrowed as I unconsciously stirred from my sleep.

And as soon as I registered the empty bed, I was laying up slightly—rubbing my eyes as I looked around the bright room for Mili.

Confusion grew around me as I hesitantly climbed out of the bed, walking over to the bathroom that I soon realized was empty.

A soft sigh fell from my lips as I started brushing my teeth before later washing my face and using the bathroom.

Once I felt refreshed, I was heading down the tall hallway towards the stairs.

I furrowed my brows yet again as a sweet smell grew around me, and I couldn't stop my stomach from growling as I descended the stairs.

Almost as soon as I was in the open living area, my confusion faded in an instant.

Especially with Mili over by the stove flipping her famous blueberry pancakes.

Meanwhile, my parents were seated at the table already eating the pancakes with the familiar blueberry topping and warm syrup.

"Ah, you're awake—why didn't you tell us that Mili made the world's best pancakes?" my mom joked as she chewed her food.

I smiled slightly as I walked over to my girlfriend by the stove, "Maybe because I wanted to keep them all for myself," I joked back.

My dad dramatically gasped, "Wow, who raised you to be so greedy?" he said, clearly joking with me as he plopped another pancake onto his plate.

I laughed at my parents before turning my attention to Mili—easily sliding my arms around her waist as she slid the cooked pancake onto the plate with the rest.

Mili turned around to me, "Good morning my beautiful girl," she murmured as she sat the spatula down on the counter beside her.

I hummed happily, "It wasn't good without you by my side," I said, clearly teasing her as I pressed a soft kiss to her cheek.

Mili smiled slightly, "Someone had to make breakfast," she pointed out, raising a brow at me.

I shrugged, pretending to be nonchalant, "I could've gone for brunch honestly," I said, easily earning a laugh from Mili.

"Oh?" she said suddenly picking up the plate of pancakes, "So you don't want any pancakes?"

I gave her a narrowed look, knowing that I wasn't about to miss out on these pancakes, "Well, now that you've made them I want them," I countered.

Mili's face grew with amusement, "You sure? Because we can always do brunch?" she questioned, clearly mocking my previous words.

I shook my head with a loose smile, "You're not going to tell me no," I determined, knowing I would somehow end up getting a pancake.

Mili hummed, "You got me there—" she suddenly leaned down to my ear, "But I can always drag out your orgasm later as punishment," she whispered in my ear, easily sending shivers crawling down my spine.

I couldn't help but tune into how soft her warm breath was on my skin—or how she remained leaned into me for a few more prolonged seconds.

I blinked a few times when she pulled back, and it wasn't hard to hide my growing blush—which easily earned a content smirk from her.

Mili walked past me, "Did you still want a pancake beautiful?" she called over her shoulder as she walked past me toward the dining room table where my parents were having a debate about who would cut up the fruit for the week.

I drew in a deep breath before letting it back out, clearly gathering myself as I exited the kitchen toward the dining room table.

"A pancake sounds lovely," I determined, clearly waving a white flag as I sat down beside Mili across from my parents.

Mili hummed as she began making my plate, "I figured so," she determined with a raised brow.

I shook my head as I took the plate from her, grabbing my fork as she drizzled my pancakes with the blueberry topping and syrup.

"So any plans today?" My mom asked as she took a sip of her mimosa.

I smiled happily as I looked over to Mili who raised a skeptical brow at my sudden excitement.

"I'm showing Mili around the island," I determined.

Just like that, Mili's dark eyes were pinned on me, clearly curious about what my plans entailed.

And I swear couldn't wait to give her a glimpse into my life—to show her what growing up looked like for me, or what my favorite things were.

"Guess I'm in for an interesting day?" Mili joked as she turned back around to my parents.

My dad laughed, "Yeah you are—it's a completely different world out here," he said.

And he was right—the island was quite literally a little slice of heaven.

"You look so good like this," I practically whined as I tugged at the waistband of Mili's loose pants.

I couldn't help but eye my girlfriend's outfit—from the cropped white beater tank top that showed off her perfectly toned stomach to the loose cargos that hung low on her waist.

I found myself loving how her dark curly hair was down for once and framing her beautiful glowy face.

Every day she amazes me, I swear.

Mili smirked, "You sound just like me," she determined, laughing slightly as she slid her arms around my waist.

I raised a brow, "Maybe I should act just like you too," I said, giving her a challenging look as I tugged at her waistband even more.

Mili hummed in amusement, "Maybe if your parents weren't home and we didn't have plans, I would take you up on that—" she suddenly pressed a soft kiss to my lips, "—but sadly that's not the case," she said as she pulled away from me.

I frowned—even if she had made a point, I somehow found myself growing more and more comfortable with the idea of finally going there with her.

"You know you're too pretty to be pouting," Mili called over her shoulder as she exited the bathroom.

I hummed emptily as I leaned away from the bathroom counter to follow her into my bedroom.

Soon we were grabbing any essentials like sunscreen or chapstick—before heading out to the main part of the island.

And since it was Saturday, it wasn't hard to guess that everyone would be out and about.

Everything was just as I left it—the farmer's markets, the small-town restaurants and dessert parlors, even the white sand beach that was only steps away from it all.

The loud chatter and familiar Caribbean music combined with the ocean waves seemed to give me the biggest serotonin boost.

"The fruit looks so good here," Mili said as she eyed all the different fruits that were shaded from the sun.

I hummed, "It tastes better too," I said as we walked further down the walkway hand-in-hand.

Mili picked up one of the papayas, "We should make a fruit bowl," she said as she slid the fruit into the reusable bag we brought.

I smiled, "That sounds like a perfect idea—maybe we could eat it by the ocean later?" I questioned.

Mili's lips twitched up into a small smile, "Sounds like a date," she said, leaning in to press a soft kiss to my temple.

My smile grew, "Hmm is it? Because we haven't been on one in a while," I said, clearly teasing her.

Mili laughed, "That's a good point—but it's really hard to be out in public when I can't control my roaming hands," she said, and I couldn't fight the heat that grew in my stomach as soon as her dark eyes subtly trailed my body.

I hummed speechlessly, shaking my head slightly to help get rid of any inappropriate thoughts.

"Let me take you out tonight," I suddenly suggested.

It was definitely a random suggestion, and I didn't exactly know where we would go, but I knew I could easily find somewhere special.

Being on your old stomping grounds had its perks.

Mili raised a brow, and I couldn't miss the amusement growing on her face, "Are you asking me on a date, Atiana?"

I felt my smile grow wider, "Maybe..." I trailed off, allowing my tone to grow teasing.

Mili cocked her head to the side, and I swear the attractive action alone was enough to make me pass out.

"Maybe isn't enough for me," she said, suddenly pulling me into her body by my hand that was interlocked with hers, "You need to prove it to me," she murmured as her dark eyes carefully stared down at me.

I felt my smile turn into a smirk, suddenly feeling our dynamic switch to something more sensual.

Mili hummed as I trailed the tips of my fingers up her exposed toned arm—easily keeping my pace slow as I held her stare.

And as soon as the back of my hand caressed the side of her soft neck—Mili's stare easily diverted down to my lips.

"I think I have something in mind," I murmured lowly, suddenly wrapping my hand around her neck.

Mili leaned down into me, "And what is that?" she questioned as her eyes shifted to meet my own.

I glided my thumb up and down the front of her neck as I subtly fluttered my lashes at her, which easily made Mili's jaw tense with a clear restraint.

A hum vibrated in my throat as I leaned past her face toward her ear, "I was thinking..." I trailed off teasingly before pulling away to meet her careful stare, "Surfing," I said, suddenly dropping my hand from her neck as I turned back around to the fruit.

And I couldn't help but smile in amusement as soon as I heard Mili clear her throat—clearly trying to get herself together.

I picked up one of the small baskets of fresh strawberries, "If I surf a wave then I get to take you on a date," I clarified as I grabbed two of the mangos.

Mili gave me a narrowed look, "And what do I get if you don't?" she questioned, and I couldn't help but internally laugh.

I swear I could surf waves in my sleep.

I backed away with the bag of fruit, easily meeting Mili's dark stare as I said, "Your way with me."

And just like that, Mili's brows were raised, "Someone's feeling very bold today—first teasing me and now this?" she said, following behind me as she subtly slid her arm around my waist—lower than usual.

I hummed as her fingers played with the hem of my shorts, "You know you love it," I said, shooting her an innocent smile as we made it to the line to pay.

Mili smiled slightly as her eyes carefully trailed my face, "How can I not?" she murmured as her eyes suddenly met mine.

And her softened words alone somehow made my brain turn to mush—especially with her truthful tone and how insinuative it sounded.

However, before I could acknowledge her statement in the slightest, Mili said, "Surf three waves back to back and you got it."

I hummed happily, "Deal," I said, holding my hand out for her.

Mili laughed slightly, reaching her hand out to shake mine before she inevitably pulled me in for a brief kiss.

"Even when you're competitive, you're still adorable," she murmured against my lips, easily earning a small smile from me.
