The word surprise seemed to be an understatement to me.
Especially since Mili managed to get me a Louis Vuitton purse that matched her wallet—even with the same initials from the wallet, engraved into the interior of the purse.
"This is way too much," I whispered in awe as I admired the leather purse.
Mili's smile only grew, "Not at all, it suits you perfectly," she said, looking down at the purse that I held in my hands.
My smile managed to grow into a grin, "You're spoiling me too much," I said, my voice still breathless from surprise.
Mili only laughed, "If you think this is considered spoiling you—then just wait."
And I couldn't help but raise a brow at her before looking down at the card resting on the table.
She had specifically instructed me to open the card last.
"Milan..." I trailed off suspiciously as I glanced from the card to her.
Mili only pursed her lips into a smile, "Go on, open it," she murmured.
I felt a permanent grin remain practically glued to my lips as I hesitantly reached for the red envelope.
Mili's eyes were pinned precisely on me as she sat in the chair across from me, carefully gauging my reaction as I opened the card.
I read the front of the card before opening it to suddenly see Mili's perfect handwriting on the left side of it.
-The way your cheeks grow the perfect shade of pink at any compliment.
-Your smile that manages to light up more than just the room.
-How gentle you are with me.
-Your soft laugh.
-The way your arms hold me.
-How spontaneous you are.
These are only a few things that I love about you.
Thank you for trusting me enough to share all your firsts. I can't wait to make our own firsts together.
Forever yours,
Lani
I suddenly looked up from the card, feeling my eyes sting with tears as I reached out for my beautiful girlfriend.
Mili didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around my waist, easily deepening the hug that I initiated.
And I swear, I was practically clinging to her like she was my life source as I nuzzled into her warm body.
"I've seriously never had someone say such beautiful words to me before—or care this much for me," I whispered as I leaned even deeper into her.
Mili pressed a soft kiss to my neck that her face was nuzzled into, "I'm honored to be the first and only one," she murmured against my skin.
And even the thought that we were it for each other managed to send a thousand jolts of warmth through my body.
"I love you—so much that saying it doesn't feel like nearly enough," I admitted as I pulled back slightly to meet her dark eyes.
Mili smiled slightly, "Check the pocket in your purse," she suddenly whispered.
I furrowed my brows slightly as I backed away from her to turn back around and open the designer purse.
And as soon as I even caught a glimpse inside the side pocket, I swear I almost fainted.
I blinked a few times, hesitantly grabbing the plane tickets to Cairo, Egypt.
"No way," I breathed out.
Mili laughed slightly, clearly amused by my reaction.
And before she could say anything, I suddenly looked up from the tickets, "These are one-way?" I questioned hesitantly.
Mili's lips twitched up into a soft smile, "Well, we're supposed to be there for three months so—"
"Three months? Three fucking months Milan?" I cut her short with a huge grin, feeling practically overjoyed at the idea of experiencing traveling with her.
Well, until a reality check managed to slap me in the face.
School.
"What is it?" Mili suddenly questioned, easily reaching out for my waist and pulling me into her body.
I pursed my lips, "I have school..." I trailed off, clearly feeling saddened by the revelation.
Mili only tilted her head, "Check the date on those tickets."
And I couldn't help but glance back down to the tickets, noticing we weren't leaving until the first week of June.
And since I'm not taking any summer classes that meant—
"I can go," I whispered, suddenly feeling my grin grow back on my lips.
Mili smiled slightly, "Yeah, I specified to my agency that it had to be a certain date—there's no way I was going without you," she determined.
My grin managed to grow at her words alone—she wasn't going to up and leave without me, which was something I was somewhat worried about in the past.
"Wait," I suddenly said, realizing what she had just said, "Agency...? They gave you an assignment?" I questioned, knowing that Mili had briefly mentioned finally getting assigned something from them so she could get to work.
Mili smiled slightly, "Surprise," she jokingly laughed, easily earning a bigger smile from me.
She's the cutest.
"Surprise indeed—I mean this is insane. I can't believe we're going to Cairo," I gushed, and as she stood from her chair, I didn't even hesitate to lean into her to press my lips to hers.
Mili easily kissed me back—pulling me in closer to her warm body by my hips.
"I'm so proud of you, Milan," I murmured against her lips, knowing how huge this all was, especially for her career.
Mili smiled against my lips, "Did I mention how much I love you?" she joked, easily sliding her hands down to the back of my thighs.
A string of giggles fell from my lips as she lifted me into her arms completely.
"I think you mentioned it briefly..." I trailed off jokingly as she walked us both into the air-conditioned loft.
An amused smirk grew on Mili's lips as she made her way into the kitchen, easily setting me down on one of the cold countertops.
My brows raised slightly when she suddenly pulled a bottle of champagne from the fridge.
Along with whipped cream and strawberries.
"You're going to ruin your appetite for dinner," I jokingly scolded her.
Mili only smirked for herself, "Oh, I think my appetite will still be there—sex always makes you hungry."
I laughed bashfully, shaking my head at her as she shook up the bottle of champagne a few times.
And I couldn't help the squeal that fell from my lips when she popped the bottle open, easily allowing the cold liquid to purposefully spray all over me.
"Mil—Milan!" I giggled as she sprayed me even more.
Mili only laughed as she leaned the bottle away from me to pour the bubbly liquid into one of the flutes—and even if she only sprayed me for a minimum of a few seconds, I was one hundred percent soaked.
I shook my head at her as I wiped the cold liquid off of my body, watching as she took a brief sip of champagne from the tall flute.
"Oh, you're really wet," Mili said mostly to herself, eyeing my soaked t-shirt and sweatpants, "Maybe you should just take it off," she suddenly murmured, raising a dangerous brow at me.
And suddenly, I realized what she had done.
"You could've just asked me to take off my clothes you know," I pointed out with a raised brow.
Mili shrugged, "What's the fun in that?" she said, smirking slightly at me.
I rolled my eyes at her, suddenly sliding down from the counter—and instead of reaching for my wet clothes, I was reaching for her.
Mili's brows raised when I suddenly guided her back to sit down on the bench at her dining room table.
And as she faced me with one of the filled champagne flutes in her hands—I slowly reached for the hem of my sweatpants, clearly trying to tease her.
Mili's dark eyes darted up to mine when I suddenly reached away, halting my efforts to get undressed as I reached for the strawberries and whipped cream.
A suspicious hum fell from Mili's lips, "What are you up to?" she questioned as I opened the pre-washed strawberries.
I shrugged, "Nothing much, just stealing your thunder," I teased her, knowing that she had plans for the whipped cream and strawberries.
But I had better ones.
