Page 54 of HER SISTER

"I can't believe I got a tattoo."

Mili laughed as I brushed my teeth for the second time today.

"Don't get me started on that," Mili said as she spit out her toothpaste.

I raised a brow, "Oh were you mad?" I questioned, knowing I didn't recall a lot from last night.

Mili sat her toothbrush down, "Not really mad, just..." she trailed off, clearly in search of the right word, "Concerned," she finally said.

I hummed, "Yeah it was pretty crazy," I admitted, knowing that it could've easily gone sideways.

"Yeah, it feels like my sister manages to drag you into crazy situations—I might have to have a talk with her after we tell her," Mili determined as she grabbed the mouthwash.

I laughed, "You don't need to have a talk with her," I said as Mili briefly swished the mouthwash before handing it to me.

She spit the mouthwash out, "Oh no, I one hundred percent do—I can't even believe you managed to get that drunk last night," she said as I swished some of the minty mouthwash, "I mean, you were talking really crazy last night."

I suddenly spit out the mouthwash in the sink, "Crazy?" I repeated back to her as I tried to recall some of the night, "Crazy how?"

Mili raised her brows in amusement, "For starters, you wanted me to fuck you—then when I was sitting over you to take off your makeup, you said you wanted to fuck me instead," she explained.

And I couldn't bother to fight the heat growing on my face, "No... I didn't," I said, clearly embarrassed by my drunk self.

Mili laughed at my sudden shyness, "You did," she said, suddenly reaching out to grab my waist and pull me into her warm body, "But it was more hot than embarrassing, trust me."

A slow smile grew on my lips, "That makes me feel slightly better," I admitted.

Mili leaned down to press a soft yet deep kiss to my lips, "I like spending my mornings with you," she murmured against my lips.

And just like that, I was a smiling mess—easily finding her words to be sweet.

"I like spending my mornings with you too," I said as we pulled back slightly.

And I couldn't miss the way Mili was suddenly looking between my eyes—It was odd how quickly the moment managed to turn intimate.

The look she was giving me was so... unrecognizable, I couldn't put my finger on it.

It almost looked like she had something she wanted to say—

Well, before my phone buzzed.

Mili suddenly cleared her throat, taking a step back from me as I grabbed my phone.

"It's probably Mya," she determined as she suddenly walked into her room.

I nodded, reading Mya's text that confirmed that she was alive but terribly hungover.

And as soon as I had texted Mya back, I was focused back on Mili who was grabbing her stuff to go smoke.

I wanted to bring up the previous moment we just had, but I wasn't sure how—or if there was even anything to bring up.

"I'm going to head back down and get ready for whatever is left of the day," I suddenly said, knowing that Mya was now up, and I should at least be in my own room.

After what Akeyla said, I really wanted to sit her down instead of her walking in on us laying in bed together—or perhaps even kissing.

Mili didn't hesitate to nod, leaning down to me to press a soft kiss to my lips, "I'll see you later," she said as she broke away from the kiss.

I nodded, backing away from her as she went to head out onto her balcony.

"Ana, are you ready?" Mya called out from the other side of my door.

Almost instantly, I was walking to my door to open it, revealing Mya who was layered in jeans, a jacket, and warm boots.

Mya smiled as she took in my outfit, "Your fit is so cute," she said.

I only laughed, knowing it was only black leggings and a black North Face puffer jacket which I layered shirts on under—what made the outfit cute was the black furry earmuffs I wore while my dark hair remained down.

"Yours is cuter," I told her as I slid on my typical Uggs to keep my feet warm.

Mya smiled, "Thanks," she said as I walked over to her.

Tonight we were all going ice skating—which I was really excited about, I just wished that I could experience the moment with Mili.

More openly.

But I knew it would all still be fun.

Soon we were all gathered into the snowy white Range Rover as Terrance drove us all toward the familiar snowy town.

And every single time we drove down the mountain, I managed to be more in awe of the view, finding it entirely beautiful.

As expected, the ice skating rink was filled with groups of people.

Luckily, it wasn't too many—but it definitely seemed like one of the town's favorite spots.

"Okay, so I've never actually... ice skated before," I admitted, knowing that I had never had an opportunity to.

Mya only smiled, "I'm happy your first time can be with us," she determined as she stood from the bench.

Mili and their parents were already out on the ice, leaving me and Mya to get on too.

"I don't know," I said, looking down at the thin blade.

Mya gave me a playfully narrowed look, "Oh come on, I'll be right here, plus you can hold onto the wall until you get the hang of it," she tried to convince me.

And something told me I wasn't getting out of this one.

I nodded before hesitantly standing up, and almost immediately I was reaching out for Mya to help balance myself—who immediately helped me stand properly before guiding us over to the ice.

Luckily, I wasn't the only adult by the wall—and Mya managed to stay by my side as we talked and skated on the smooth ice.

Akeyla even managed to join us before Terrance and Mili joined in as well.

And their actions alone made me feel even better.

I don't think anyone could possibly feel left out in this family.

"Hey Mya, your dad and I have a little surprise for you," Akeyla suddenly told Mya as we took off our skates.

Mya suddenly raised a brow, "Hmm a surprise?" she questioned with a smirk.

Terrance laughed as Akeyla nodded with an amused smile.

"Yeah, do you guys mind staying here for a moment? We'll be back soon so we can go to dinner," Akeyla suddenly addressed me and Mili.

And Mili didn't hesitate to nod, "We don't mind—as long as we get to choose what's for dinner," she subtly negotiated.

Terrance rolled his eyes, "Of course, you'd throw that in there," he joked with her.

Meanwhile, Akeyla nodded, "I don't care what's for dinner honestly," she said as she motioned Mya to stand up.

Soon the three of them were leaving the ice rink entirely, leaving me and Mili behind.

And even if I was grateful, I couldn't help but find it slightly odd—did they really need to do Mya's surprise right now?

And why couldn't we come?

Mili suddenly stood from the bench, "Come on, I want to show you something," she said, motioning me up.

I tilted my head as I hesitantly stood on my feet, "Was that not weird to you?" I questioned, wondering why Akeyla had them all leave like that.

Mili guided me past the concessions, "A little—I wonder what they're surprising her with," she said, opening a random door for me.

I furrowed my brows, "Are we supposed to—"

"Ati come on," she cut me short with an amused smile.

I laughed slightly, "Okay, but you're taking the blame if we get in trouble," I determined as we began climbing a set of dark stairs that seemed to be illuminated by small lights lining them.

Where are we going right now?

"Where does this lead?" I questioned in confusion.

Mili looked to me as we stopped at the top where there seemed to be a lookout onto the ice rink.

This must be where the workers come to watch over everything.

My brows suddenly furrowed, noticing the weirdly empty ice rink—but as soon as I noticed the guy riding a machine to clean it, I realized why.

Well, until I realized the parts that he didn't clean.

"Milan," I breathed out, reading the ice that was purposefully left unclean.

Mili's hands suddenly settled around my waist as I re-read the words over and over again.

"Will you?" she questioned as she leaned into the back of my body.

And just like that, my lips were twitching up into a full-on grin—suddenly realizing why Akeyla had them all leave so suddenly.

She must've been in on it.

I turned around in her arms, "Yes-yes I... this is the sweetest thing ever," I said, and I couldn't miss the excitement in my tone.

Mili smiled down at me, easily pulling me into the deepest kiss of my life.

"You're my girlfriend," she murmured against my lips.

I smiled as I deepened the kiss even more, "And you're mine."
