Page 32 of HER SISTER

Mili leaned down to me, allowing her lips to graze mine as she blew some of the smoke into my mouth.

As she pulled away, I inhaled the smoke fully before breathing it back out.

Surprisingly, I didn't seem to cough, which to me meant I should take another hit.

"Woah there," Mili laughed slightly when I tried to take the blunt from her, "Let's walk before you try to run," she said, gently tilting my chin up as she held the blunt to my lips.

I didn't hesitate to take another long hit as I held Mili's stare—and this time I managed to cough as she pulled the blunt away from my lips.

And when I say coughing, I mean a full-on coughing fit.

Mili ran her hand up and down my back, "Breathe," she instructed, easily forcing me to suck a sharp breath in before letting it back out.

The action alone earned a nod of approval from Mili, causing me to take in a few more deep breaths before letting them out again.

"One more time," I said, easily causing Mili to raise a brow at me.

"I really think you're good, Ati," she determined.

I only frowned, practically giving her the puppy dog eyes.

Mili groaned, "Don't start that," she said, easily causing me to layer it on even thicker.

This time I managed to poke my bottom lip out further.

A long sigh fell from Mili's lips as she leaned down to briefly peck my pouty lips, "You're spoiled," she determined.

I couldn't help but smile happily as she held the blunt to my lips yet again.

"Only take a small hit," she carefully instructed as I leaned in to take another drag from the lit blunt.

And as instructed, I made sure to take a short hit from the blunt before pulling away fully.

This time, I even managed to not cough.

Mili eyed me carefully, "How do you feel?" she questioned as she put the lit blunt out.

I shrugged, "Fine I guess," I said, knowing I felt a little like I was floating but that's it.

Mili laughed in amusement, "Just wait till the high sets in," she said as we began walking back in.

I only shrugged again, walking back into the loft past her as she held the door open.

Soon we were settled in the kitchen, mixing and baking the sugar cookies before we started icing them.

Even the smallest act of baking and icing cookies with Mili seemed to feel so intimate—it made me feel so warm inside.

"Ati," Mili laughed as I swallowed some of the icing I had eaten.

I lazily hummed, "What?" I questioned, tilting my heavy head at her.

Mili only shook her head at me, setting down her knife as she took a step toward me, "I can see that the high set in," she concluded, leaning down to press a soft kiss to my lips—before her warm tongue swiped across my lower lip that seemed to have icing on it.

I smiled to myself as she pulled away—suddenly aware of how heavy my eyes felt, I mean, I could barely keep them open.

Honestly, everything feels heavier—like the knife that I was using to ice the cookies.

My smile grew at the idea of icing, easily causing me to stick my knife in it yet again.

But before I could bring it to my lips, Mili halted me, "You're going to get a stomach ache," she said, easily earning a narrowed look from me.

"I haven't had that much," I protested.

Mili raised a brow, "Look at the container."

And just like that, my eyes diverted to the almost empty icing container.

"That's only because I used it to ice my cookies," I determined, which easily earned a laugh from Mili.

"Baby you've only decorated three," she said.

I looked down at the plate, suddenly noticing only three really were iced.

At least the pumpkin, witch hat, and ghost looked good—probably better than if I were sober.

"What if we watch a movie and eat these?" Mili suggested, easily earning a few nods from me.

I suddenly reached out for her, wrapping my arms around her torso, "That sounds so good," I murmured.

Mili laughed as she transferred her cookies onto my plate, "Okay, I was thinking we could watch Halloweentown," she said, grabbing the plate and guiding us both into the living room.

My eyes grew wide, "Halloweentown? I haven't seen that movie in so long," I said as Mili set the plate of cookies on the table.

"Well, that's about to change because I watch it every year," Mili concluded as she retreated back into the kitchen to grab us two waters.

I felt my body suddenly grow warm, realizing that she was basically insinuating that we'd be together for years to come.

Mili sat our waters down beside the plate of cookies, "Ready?" she questioned as she grabbed the remote and got the movie pulled up.

I nodded a few times as she sat down on the couch, and before I could think it through, I was straddling her lap.

Mili laughed to herself, "Ati, you can't watch the movie facing that way," she said, clearly amused by my actions.

I only hummed, hugging her body to mine, "I just want to hug you," I murmured, nuzzling my head into her neck.

Mili hooked her hands under my thighs before rising from the couch, easily making my brows furrow.

"What are you doing?" I said, looking around as I held onto her.

Mili hummed as she sat on the sectional part of the couch, which easily gave us space to lay out, "We're compromising," she said, guiding me to lay beside her body.

I smiled as I happily nuzzled into the side of her body, watching as she played the nostalgic movie.

"Happy?" she questioned as she gently played with my dark hair.

I hummed, "So happy," I murmured as I tangled my legs with hers.

My brows furrowed when a loud ringing went off, easily forcing me to feel around for whatever was making the noise.

My tired eyes were forced open as soon as I had my ringing phone in my hand—and as I answered it, I was able to slowly take in my environment.

From the dark living room to the couch Mili and I fell asleep on with Halloweentown paused on the large TV.

Mili's arms were secured perfectly around my waist as she held me tightly to her warm body.

A girl could seriously get used to mornings like this.

"Ana? Hey, are you there?"

And just like that—it felt like a bucket of ice water had been splashed onto me.

I suddenly sat up from the couch, "Yeah—yeah, I'm here," I said, clearing my throat slightly.

And even the act of me sitting up was enough to wake up Mili as well—her brows were furrowed as she rubbed her tired eyes, clearly trying to figure out what was going on.

"Sorry I know the time is behind there—it's eight in the morning here," she said, and automatically, I knew that meant it was around five in the morning here.

I hummed, and the tiredness in my voice was definitely prominent, "No-no, you're all good—how's New York?" I asked her, knowing I hadn't heard from her since yesterday when she texted me that she had landed.

Mili lazily raised her brows to herself, easily concluding that I was on the phone with Mya.

"It's been busy honestly—I've barely had a moment to breathe. We're actually headed to a meeting in a couple of minutes, but I just had to check in with you," Mya explained, and I couldn't help but smile.

Mostly at Mya—but also at her sister who was pulling me back down into the couch with her.

"That's so sweet of you—I'm so happy everything is going well. Hopefully, everything isn't too busy?" I questioned, looking down at Mili who was lying underneath me as she made funny faces.

I pressed my hand to my mouth to prevent any of my laughs from spilling out—but I swear the faces she was making were hilarious.

"No it definitely isn't too busy, it's honestly refreshing here. We'll have to go sometime—" Mya suddenly mumbled something to someone, "—Hey Ana, I'm going to have to text you. We're leaving now," she said.

I shook my head at Mili who was still making funny faces at me, "Okay, be safe and have fun," I managed to say without laughing.

Mya hummed, "I will!"

And just like that the phone call ended—and as soon as I sat my phone down, Mili was pulling me into a soft kiss.

"Good morning pretty girl," Mili murmured against my lips.

I slid my legs up so that I was straddling her, "Good morning," I murmured back.

Mili slid her arms around my waist, "How's my sister doing?" she questioned as we pulled away slightly.

I hummed, "She's good—busy but good," I explained.

Mili pressed a short kiss to my cheek, "Sleep—let's go back to sleep," she mumbled as she pulled away from me, and it was clear that she was very tired.

I definitely was too, but the unexpected phone call from Mya seemed to send a shock to my system.

"Are we going upstairs?" I questioned when Mili suddenly stood from the couch.

Mili lazily hummed as she turned off the TV, "Yeah, what time is it?" she questioned, holding her hand out for me.

I grabbed our phones before taking her hand to stand up, "It's five twenty-two," I said, and almost immediately, Mili let out a tired groan.

"We're sleeping for at least four more hours—when do you have class?" Mili asked as we began walking up the stairs.

"My first class starts at ten thirty," I said, following her into her large room.

Mili hummed happily, "Great, you're going in my clothes so you can stay with me longer," she said.

And even the idea of wearing her clothes to class seemed to make me feel warm, "Great, I like your style better than mine anyways," I admitted, knowing that everything always looked so good on her.

But maybe that was just her.

Because it could be on anyone else wearing it and it wouldn't hit anywhere near the same.

Mili gave me a narrowed look as we stopped by her bed, "That's not true—your style is cute," she countered before her hands seemed to suddenly tug at my pink tank top, "I mean, I'd definitely fuck you in this," she concluded.

And just like that, my face was burning red.

"Mili..." I trailed off, suddenly feeling at a sudden loss for words.

Mili only smirked, "What? I would—" she suddenly tilted her head, "I guess I kinda have?" she said, clearly recalling the events from earlier.

I let out a groan when my face grew even redder, forcing me to climb in the bed to shield my face away from her.

Mili suddenly slid into the bed with me, "How do you feel about that, by the way?" she asked, clearly changing the conversation from playful to serious.

I felt my lips pull into a soft smile at her concern, "You already asked me this," I reminded her.

Mili only hummed, "And now I'm asking again."

My smile grew as I suddenly pressed a soft brief kiss to her lips, "I feel really good—" I pressed another kiss to her lips, but this time, I managed to make it a little deeper, "—It only made me want more," I admitted.

"You and me both," Mili murmured as she looked between my eyes—easily making my face grow even hotter than before.

I knew when we actually did do anything more, that Mili would be gentle and careful with me, which seemingly made me trust her even more.

There's seriously no one else that I'd feel comfortable enough doing this with, which is odd to me since I felt so against even touching her when we first met.

I hummed, leaning down to press yet another kiss to her lips—which Mili seemed to deepen.

"Sleep?" she mumbled against my lips.

I nod a few times, "Definitely."

And just like that, we were pulling away to get situated in the bed together—clearly eager to go back to sleep for a few more hours.
