Page 48 of Ruthless Chaos
I move the fabric of her turtleneck so I can feel her skin against my fingers.
Sure enough, the bruises I left there peek out at me. I should darken them at some point. Wait, no I shouldn’t. I move my thumb to just below her jaw, caressing her pulse. Her heart is thundering beneath her skin.
She’s so scared of me. I tighten my grip on her neck.
Allie moves to put her bag between our bodies.
I rip it from her and toss it behind me. “I didn’t say move, I said listen.” I lean down so that we’re sharing the same breath. She still smells of vanilla. “Understand?”
She nods slowly, swallowing so thickly I feel it against my palm.
“Use your words.”
Allie takes a deep breath. “Yes, I understand.”
I smile, moving my thumb in small circles. I ghost it over the front of her neck, trailing a line down her windpipe. If I squeezed her here, she’d stop breathing.
She bites her lip again, and goosebumps pebble against my fingertips.
I stop my caress. So, she’s turned on too.
“You’re new here, so I figured I’d give you a suggestion.” Almost imperceptibly, her breathing quickens. “Stay away from Liam Keller.”
Her brows furrow, and she looks up at me with those big, innocent, hazel eyes shaded by thick lashes.
She would look even more beautiful with my cum all over her face.
Allie frowns. “Why should I listen to you?” Though she can’t move much because of the grip I have on her, she juts her chin out.
Ah, so there’s some fire in her.
I like that. It will be fun to choke it out.
Her reaction confirms everything I thought.
Keller’s already poisoned her mind. He probably made her feel special, so she thinks he’s a good person, that she can trust him. To her, I’m a villain, though I’m only trying to protect her.
It’s what I expected.
“Keller is just using you to get to me, Allie,” I say.
After I say it, I realize how strange it must sound to her. There’s nothing between us. Still, her confusion isn’t worth the trouble of telling her she’s marked as mine among the Kingmakers. I’m still not entirely sure how I want to handle that.
“This is all a game to him, and you’re his latest piece.”
Allie rears back, her gaze growing hard. Is she fighting me on this, just because she can? Or does she actually like that fucking snake?
My patience runs out.
I tighten my grip on her neck, closing the last bit of space between us. Our bodies are pressed together. I can feel her pebbled nipples against my abdomen, and my angry cock is against her belly.
The voice in my head tells me I need to pull back.
But I can’t. Not when I have her like this, all alone.
“I don’t think any of what I do is your business,” she squeaks out. “You and I aren’t involved. I think he would have a better shot of getting to you through Cassidy.”
I take a second to gather my thoughts.
