My breath catches at his words.
Together.
My heart sings, and I pull him in for a kiss.
This isn’t the end of us, it’s just the beginning.
THIRTY-EIGHT
ALIZE
Pure bliss.
That’s how I would describe the past few days. Following that night in the cabin, my days with Alexander have been filled with the kind of exhilarating moments I thought only existed in romance novels.
His mother’s cabin has become our spot.
For the past three nights, we’ve met up there to talk and have sex. I can’t get enough of him—it gets better every time. I think he feels the same.
This is what we were missing.
Presently, we lay intertwined on the new bed Alexander bought after our first night together. I have the sheets up to my neck.
“You’re still shy, sweetheart?” he asks, using a finger to pull the sheets down below my bosom. “I know your body. Every part of it. I’ve kissed you all over.” He leans down, pressing a kiss to the swell of my breast. “You don’t have to cover up around me.”
My cheeks heat up at what he’s insinuating.
“It’s not about you,” I say, nibbling my lip. “It’s me, I think.” I suck in a breath. “I don’t reallylikeit.”
Alexander looks like I’ve just cursed at him.
Anger kindles in his expression. “I hardly think your opinion matters.” He moves his hand lower, until his fingers are right by my core. “You’re mine. All that matters is what I think.” He presses his erection against my stomach. “And I fuckingloveyour body.”
My heart stutters in my chest. Suddenly, my core is aflame with need, even though I’m aching from just how much sex we’ve had in the past few days.
“You want to go again?” I ask, trying to hide the trepidation in my voice. We’ve had sex three times this evening already.
I don’t seem to hide it well enough. “Are you sore?” he asks.
“A little,” I lie. I’ma lotsore.
If we keep this up, I won’t be able to even get out of bed soon. I want him and I love the pain, but my body can’t take any more. I have aches and bruises all over. A fourth round would break me in half.
Even then, I’m considering it.
Alexander laughs, running his fingers along my collar bone. I get goosebumps.
“As much as I like hurting you this way, I’ll give you the rest of the week off.” My heart sinks at his words. That seems like a long time. “Well, until Saturday.” He kisses me. “Saturday, I will need you.”
“What’s happening on Saturday?”
He rolls on to his back with one hand behind his head, staring up at the ceiling. He gathers me to him with his other hand, positioning me so that I’m lying on his chest.
His length makes a tent in the sheets.
Maybe one more round wouldn’t be so bad.
“We’re going away on a weekend trip to the mountains,” he says, his chest vibrating against my cheek. “Well, the Kingmaker Council is. I’m bringing you with me.”
