Keith was still in the hospital, and it had been about three days. They said he was making slow progress, but I needed him to make full progress. Kareem had been asking questions and somehow, he had gotten word about Dionysus. No matter how I tried explaining the situation, that nigga wasn’t listening. I was running late for this meeting at FBP. I wasn’t sure what was happening, but I wanted to share with the elites that Naheem’s ass was gone.
I felt it was only right to bring Bleek this time because the truth was, he was a Prince, and if his father was in this society, then he had just as much right to be there as I did. With Indigo gone and Keith in the hospital, I didn’t have anyone to watch London, so tonight she would accompany me as well. We walked out of the door and I watched London prance in her black, formal, puppy dress toward the car. I opened the door for her. She hopped right in. When I slid in, I turned to look at her.
“Daddy’s precious girl, you ready?”
London’s panting was my sign to drive. Before hitting the highway, I noticed I needed gas, so I drifted into the far lane and entered the gas station. I didn’t trust paying at the pump, so I jogged inside. I had dropped my keys and went to pick them up. Without looking, I had accidentally bumped into someone.
“Shit, my bad,”
I said as I glanced up.
She held a pretty ass smile as she had nodded and walked past me. Before she walked out the door, I called out to her, “What’s your name, pretty girl?”
She pulled a piece of hair behind her ear, “Navanna.”
I nodded.
“Navanna, ok, maybe I will see you around.”
“Maybe.”
I turned back to the cashier as she walked off. I paid for my gas and came back out to pump when I noticed something on my windshield. In red lipstick was her name and number. I didn’t know how I felt about it, but I entered her number in my phone. I would put it on ice for now because a nigga was still missing Indigo and what I didn’t want to do was move too soon.
When I reached FBP, I spotted Bleek waiting in the parking lot. My nigga was dapper as fuck. When I got out and opened the door, and he saw London, he shook his head.
“Really nigga?”
“Yes, really. Look, I’ve got eyes on Kareem. I need that nigga to ease up, I may have an idea to end this shit. You good?”
Bleek smiled widely.
“Yes, feel good as fuck. My girl is back, and so far, Tania hasn’t been on that bullshit. She’s taking a vacation and leaving Hope with me after her birthday party.”
I smiled.
“That’s what’s up.”
I tightened the gold leash around my hand as we entered the building. I wanted tonight to be different than the last time I was in here.
