His moans send vibrations up my cock, spurring the last of my climax into his mouth and he welcomes it. Hungry for it, Julian licks and sucks between moans, twitching as his own orgasm only just begins to taper.

When he pulls back, coughing, my eyes remain glued to what’s left of my cum on his lips.

Good. Goddess.

I came in his mouth.

I shudder hard and my cock twitches for more, and I think I might take it when Julian looks up at me with those pink cheeks and watery eyes.

“Julian,” I groan reverently as I lean down to kiss him. We barely manage. He pants against my lips, shivers running through him, but he returns the kiss as best as he can. “Julian.”

“It—” he blinks up at me as we part, still catching his breath. “It was good?”

“Baby, that was amazing,” I promise, wiping his lips clean and then his cheeks. “Where in all the realms did you learn to do that?”

“The internet and a confidential source,” he replies with a smirk I barely glimpse before he’s tugging my blindfold back in place.

“No!” I protest, but he slaps my hand away when I try to take it off.

“It’s just a little longer,” he promises with soft kisses. “I want to take you outside.”

Ignoring my whining, Julian pops the door open and climbs out of the car before he helps me out. He cleans us up the best he can before he takes my hand in his and guides me forward.

I complain at every step, but when the sound of rushing water grows louder, worry creeps in for the first time. There are some waterfalls far out in the unclaimed lands, but not as big as these sound. If it is a waterfall. Whatever it is, we’re about to walk into it.

“Okay, are you ready?” Julian asks as he fixes medirectlyin front of his latest death trap.

“I don’t know!” I shout over the water. “Don’t you dare push me off a cliff or something Julian!”

My mate chuckles at my back before hefinallyunties my blindfold. I blink hard, fists raised, ready for the fight—

Only there’s no fight. No cliff. And it’s not a waterfall. It’s a big-ass water fountain lit up by colourful lights, the water doing a little dance to match. Behind it is a large palace-looking type of building, bigger and grander thananything I’ve ever seen.

The entrance glitters with people coming and going, some with suitcases and others in uniforms. A hotel. We’re at a hotel, and a really nice one at that. It looks more like an emperor’s palace than a hotel with the sun setting behind it, but it isn’t a human one—that much is made obvious by the complete lack of their scent.

“Well, say something,” Julian demands as he circles me, eyes scanning my face. He watches me like a hawk while his fingers twist nervously between us.

My lips part, but nothing comes out while I struggle to absorb what’s in front of me.

“I thought that we could spend the next few days here,” he blurts, squirming. “And I don’t know … relax and spend some time together before we mate. We agreed it would be soon, and I know we can’t be away from the pack for long, but we can steal a little time. The story is, we’re officially out on ‘important pack business,’ which isn’t a complete lie.”

He runs an anxious hand through his hair, blue eyes frantic. “I just thought we could get away from it all. There’s lots of stuff to do here, like adventurous things you’d love, which isn’t really my thing, but it’s up your alley.”

Julian’s eyes dart between mine. “But if youdon’tlike it and prefer we be home when we mate, we can go, but I just thought …” he trails off, crumpling. “Aiden, would you please say something!”

Unhelpfully, I only stare at him, myperfectmate.

I want to say something, a lot of somethings in fact, but I have no idea where to start. What I do know without question, is that I am extremely lucky. Lucky to have Julian as my mate.

I don’t know what I did to deserve him, but it wasn’t enough.

Something flickers in my chest. It starts like a flame, kindling in the space where sparks catch whenever he smiles at me. But this is new and unfamiliar. It’s also scary with the way it grows, even though it only just appeared. It spreads inside me with every second I look at him.

“Aiden?” Julian groans, glaring at me, and the flame doubles. “Say some—”

I haul my mate against me and kiss him with everything I have. I put it all into the kiss, everything I don’t know how to say yet, everything I’m not used to feeling. I give him everything.

When we part, Jewels blinks owlishly at me, his hand resting tentatively on my chest.
