Page 105 of The Deception You Weave
"Yes," she whispers.
"And you fucked him, again?"
"Luca, please. Do we have to do this?" She looks up at him through her lashes, begging him to leave it.
His shoulders drop in defeat as he stares back at her.
I might not like the prick, but right now, I can't help feeling a little sorry for him.
He likes her, that much is obvious, but he's getting nowhere and his reaction only solidifies what Letty told me earlier about them having never slept together. He's clutching at straws right now although I'm pretty sure deep down he knows he's already lost.
"Do you really want him?"
I stop breathing the second the question falls from his lips.
"Uh…" Letty glances over at me briefly.
"Go on, Princess. Answer his question."
"I… um…" She looks between the two of us, panic filling her eyes. To her, there is no right answer here, she's going to hurt at least one of us no matter what she says.
"Let," he pleads, dragging her eyes back to him once more.
"You should just leave," I suggest, giving Letty an out seeing as we both already know the answer to his question.
She came up here to pack a bag to spend the night with me. Me, not him.
The reason she's standing there with no panties on is because of me. And it was my name she was screaming only a few hours ago while her pussy was stretched around my cock.
He blows out a breath and I immediately suck one in, my chest rising knowing from his reaction that I've won.
He spins on his heels and closes the space between us.
"If you fucking hurt her again, I will kill you." His finger pokes me in the chest as his eyes hold mine.
The fire that was in them when I first burst in is gone. He just looks… defeated.
Unlike usual, I don't smirk in his face or spit back some insult to rub salt into the wound.
"Deal."
His eyes widen a little in surprise but he doesn't say anymore, instead, he nods once and then walks out of the room, swinging the door close behind him.
"Luca," Letty cries in a panic as she races forward as if she's going to chase him but my arm shoots out, stopping her in her tracks. "No, I need to go—"
"No, Princess. You don't. He's a big boy, he can look after himself."
"I don't want to hurt him, Kane."
I pull her into my body and wrap my arms around her waist, taking in the tears that are filling her eyes and the slight tremble to her bottom lip.
"He's not your responsibility."
"He's my best friend," she whispers, unable to look into my eyes any longer.
"So he should support you, not make you feel like this."
Her head snaps up, her eyes narrowing in anger. "Don't turn this around on him," she snaps. "He's not done anything wrong."
