“You really don’t have to,” Micah insisted.
“No, it’s cool. I know you aren’t staying here at the moment,” Tarron said.
“You aren’t?” Susan asked.
“He’s staying at my place until we arrange to move,” I explained.
“Oh, that makes sense,” she said with a smile as the four of us picked up and put food away.
“He already made arrangements for your move,” Tarron blurted out.
“You did? When?”
Micah just shrugged. “You said this weekend, so I asked the guys if they’d pitch in and help out.”
“Barring no unexpected mission popping up, I think you have all of Bravo unit coming to help Saturday. Silas insisted on it.”
“Wow.” I didn’t know what to make of that. I’d never had friends I could just ask to help with something like that, let alone an entire team of them.
“It’s okay,” Susan said. “Took a little getting used to for me as well. Pack life around here is a new experience for me.”
“I was raised in a Pack though. People still wouldn’t just jump in to help like this,” I blurted out.
“Well, in this Pack, that’s normal. Please, everyone loves Doc and there are very few who wouldn’t jump in to help him with anything, especially because he never abuses that,” she insisted.
“Okay,” I said feeling a bit overwhelmed, but grateful. “I’ll see if his mom will watch Vada then.”
“No need,” Tarron said. “Emma, Vada, Susan, and Olivia will round up all the kids while we work.”
“He’s right. Emma and those of us that are pregnant tend to watch the kids and keep them out of the way. Shelby’s crew will be there, and I think little Vada already knows them, right?”
I groaned. “Yeah. They’re a bit of trouble together though. Four toddlers can apparently do quite a bit of damage together.” I chuckled remembering how sick and miserable my poor baby was from her stay with the triplets.
“We’ll make sure all the candy is out of reach,” Tarron said with a laugh.
“I thought Ben said it was and that didn’t stop them at all,” Micah reminded him.
“Well, if you have a stash of concern around here, I can always put eyes on it with an alarm to go off if they get too close.”
My jaw dropped, making Susan laugh.
“He means it too. My man loves his toys. Surveillance is his specialty on the team.”
“Oh,” I managed to say.
Bravo team had come to the rescue to shut down the Raglan facility I was held at. I’d seen them in action, but really wasn’t sure I wanted to know what sort of other things they did for the Pack.
With the kitchen cleaned and the game put away, Susan and Tarron finally left.
She hugged me on their way out and whispered, “Let’s get together soon, maybe next Wednesday while the boys play.”
“I’d like that,” I told her, surprised that I meant it.
Micah waved and shut the door behind me before turning and wrapping me up in his arms. His lips were on own mine catching my gasp of surprise. He was persistent and needy as I smiled against him, opening my lips in a sigh as his tongue sought mine.
I held onto his shoulders to steady myself. This man literally took my breath away.
He pulled back and gave me one more quick peck on the lips.
