Susan just laughed. “I told you he left a list. This is what Micah wanted.”
“Who are all these people and where did they come from?”
“This is Westin Force Delta team. They rarely go out into the field. Their role is more like Pack security. Michael, this is Lucy.”
“Hi,” he said, barely stopping long enough to nod my way before he was off barking orders to someone.
“He’s the team lead. Over there you have Tucker, Linc, and Walker. I think Colin and Lachlan are painting back in what will soon be Vada’s room,” she explained.
“Micah really left instructions for all of this?”
“Well, he gave Tarron the instructions for all he wanted done this weekend and Tarron left the list with me in case they didn’t get back in time.”
“And you really think Micah would be okay with all of this?”
“Oh, hell no. He’d likely freak out if he knew Delta was here, which is why we aren’t going to leave you alone for even a second. If I have to go somewhere, someone else will come to relieve me.”
“What’s wrong with Delta? Why does he have a problem with them?”
“Girl, he has not yet claimed you, and all but one of these sexy Delta men are unmated.”
“Oh,” I said as I started to understand.
“But he’ll be grateful it’s all done. So don’t worry about a thing.”
The guys worked tirelessly while Susan rounded up a few more volunteers to assist us with moving our things over. In truth I had a lot more than I expected. It was amazing how quickly things seemed to have accumulated, but after a few caravans back and forth, we had everything in, piled up in the living room, and began sorting based on rooms.
I was happy to see that taking my time and marking each of the boxes had paid off. It made it so much easier to know what belonged in the kitchen verses the bedroom and so on.
“This bedroom is all painted,” a guy yelled down the hall in a deep Australian accent.
“Thanks Lachlan,” Susan yelled back.
The man that approached was as sexy as the voice. I felt absolutely nothing towards him, but I could appreciate a fine looking man when I saw one.
“We have fans going and the window open, but I’m not sure we’ll be able to move things in until tomorrow. It needs to dry.”
I was a little disappointed to hear it, but I knew we could stay at Micah’s parents’ house again if we needed to.
“Great. In that case, you guys can take a break and then help sort the rest of these boxes into the right rooms.”
“Where did those other three guy go?” I asked, realizing I hadn’t seen them in a while.
“They’re out back building the swing set,” Lachlan told me.
“The what?”
“It’s on the list,” Susan insisted.
“What else is on this list?” I asked, snatching the paper from Susan’s hand.
Lachlan stood right behind me as he peered over my shoulder to read it for himself. But when he leaned in to point something out, a low growl halted us all.
I looked up to see a wild-eyed Micah standing in the doorway. His eyes were fixed on Lachlan as he growled again.
Bravo team was right behind him. The first thing I noticed was how exhausted they all looked. I knew, without being told, that it must have been a long, hard mission for all of them.
“Well, go calm him down already,” Susan insisted giving me a little shove that earned her a growl too.
